CrimeProstitutes Threaten To Starve Policemen In Anambra Of Sex Over Incessant Arrest by stane007(op): 5:56am On Aug 04, 2018
Prostitutes in Anambra State whose colleagues have been arrested in major cities in the state, have threatened to starve policemen who are their clients of sex.

One of the prostitutes Kaamsi, who claimed to be a leader of the group in Umunze in the Orumba South Local Government Area of the state, disclosed that the decision has already been taken and they will start acting on it from Monday next week.

“These policemen constitute over 50 per cent of our customers, yet they come here at the garden to harass and intimidate us on daily basis.

“About two days ago, no fewer than 10 of our members here were arrested and taken to SARS office. They were maltreated and so dehumanised before they were granted bail and asked to pay through their noses before they regained freedom.

“This happens on daily basis here in Umunze, Onitsha, Awka, Nnewi, Ekwulobia, everywhere. So, we have decided that none of our members would ‘serve’ any policeman here in Umunze and the entire state' she said.

On if the policemen come to them in their uniforms, Kamsi said;

“We know them; we know almost all our customers. They don’t need to come to us in their uniforms to be identified.

“Brother, let me tell you, we get information here. All big men that come here, we know them up to their family level.”

Punch further gathered that about a week ago, the Anambra Police Command raided brothels in various cities in the state and arrested no fewer than 120 persons.

It was further gathered that the police raided Morning Star Hotel, Amawbia, Awka South Council Area, arresting about 20 persons. Happiness Hotel in  Amanwayi, Amawbia was also raided and about six women alleged to be prostitutes were also arrested.

A source further disclosed that the police also raided Dot4 Hotel, Mgbakwu and Bolin Hotel Nise, as well as another hotel in Ogidi, in the Idemili North Council Area, where about 60 persons were arrested. Other areas raided, were Amansea, Umunze, Onitsha and Ihiala and the arrested suspects were bailed with N10,000.

CelebritiesI Want A Woman Who Will Treat Me Like My Mother – Charles Okocha by stane007(op): 5:43am On Aug 04, 2018
Charles Okocha  a.k.a Igwe Tupac, who confirmed in a new interview that he has a very cordial relationship with his mum which is why he features her in his videos most times, further revealed the kind of woman he will like to settle down with as life partner.

The Nollywood actor who sat for a chat with Saturday Beats, revealed that he would eternally consider himself very lucky if he could find a woman like his mother; a woman who will treat him exactly the way his mother treats him at present.

Charles Okocha said;

“I am still looking for that right woman; a woman who is going to love me for me, not just for my social status or anything; I don’t want to get into any relationship that won’t last. She should be there for me like a mother and a sister; she should be able to treat me the way my mum is treating me right now. I appreciate my mum so much; she has been very supportive, if I’m to come to this world again, I’d still want her to be my mum.”

On going into social media skits and its impact on his career, Charles Okocha said;

“Social media is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Although I still appreciate my movie background; social media has been the best.  I am making it big through social media. Of course, I am not trying to downgrade other platforms I’ve been on but social media has really increased my fan base.”

On discovering his hypeman, the actor who also emphasized that his comedy skits are meant to inspire people, said;

“My slogans come naturally and they are meant to inspire people. Just like my latest slogan called Identity, it is about motivating people to ensure they are identified with something tangible in life. For example, my identity is that I am an all round entertainer.

“I respect my hype man a lot, his role in my videos was a coincidence; it wasn’t planned. I used to do skits alone, so when my new car arrived; he was the one with the camera adding spice to what I said and that was how it all started,” he said.

FCMB Bank (UK) Limited, an independently incorporated subsidiary of First City Monument Bank Limited (which is a member of FCMB Group Plc), has introduced its Personal and Business banking proposition in London, United Kingdom and Lagos, Nigeria at an impressive ceremony attended by the top echelon of the business community within and from outside the country.

The development follows the latest variation of permission obtained by the United Kingdom-based Bank to extend its services to include retail (investments) for individuals and business enterprises.

This is in addition to the existing wholesale deposit taking activities, foreign exchange, treasury, corporate banking and trade finance offerings to corporate and institutional customers of FCMB Bank (UK) Limited.

The variation of permission was granted by the Prudential Regulation Authority, the financial services regulatory body of the United Kingdom, and it became effective on June 8, 2018.

The Personal and Business banking proposition of FCMB Bank (UK) Limited is anchored on the Bank’s London Leverage and Africa Awareness. This will enable the financial institution deliver its promise of being the Corporate and Private Bank for African-oriented entrepreneurs, investors and professionals across all their banking needs.

The Group Chief Executive of FCMB Group Plc, Mr. Ladi Balogun, explained at the ceremony that the launch of FCMB Bank (UK) Limited’s personal and business banking proposition is as much a statement of substance as it is one of intent.

According to him:

“Our successful UK platform has proven to be of great importance to the Nigeria stockbroking and international trade finance activities of FCMB Group.

Leveraging our deep networks in Africa’s biggest economy, the importance of a London presence to many of our Personal and Business banking customers, and technological innovation, we welcome this opportunity to meaningfully serve more of our customers and grow the value of our UK franchise”.

Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer of FCMB Bank (UK) Limited, Mr. James Benoit, said:

“With the extension of its services, the Bank is now able to receive deposits from both customer segments as well as provide them bank loans to enable them meet their financing needs.

The deposit products on offer include current, notice savings and fixed deposit accounts at competitive rates; while its lending products include Buy-to-Let Mortgage Loans enabling target customers to acquire a piece of London and purchase property to include in their investment portfolios.’’.

He added that the Bank will be expanding its premises and entering into partnerships with Fintech providers to open up service options to its clients and enhance their overall banking experience.

Dignitaries at the launch commended the Board and Management of FCMB Group Plc for going the extra mile in ensuring the institution has a very strong presence in the United Kingdom through FCMB Bank (UK) Limited, which will go a long way to boost individual and business transactions between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, thereby enhancing customer experience.

Operating in the City of London, FCMB Bank (UK) Limited began its operations as a BIPRU €50k investment firm in September 2009 with CSL Stockbrokers (another subsidiary of FCMB Group Plc), providing the services of “receiving and transmitting” institutional client orders for Nigerian listed securities.

Subsequent to the variation of its permission on September 27, 2013, the Bank commenced wholesale deposit taking activities across various segments.

EducationHoliday Lessons, Summer Lessons, Whatever They Call It, Is A Scam! by stane007(op):
THE ESSENCE OF HOLIDAY FOR OUR CHILDREN HAS BEEN DEFEATED!

Holiday lessons, summer lessons, whatever they call it, is a scam! In fact, that a child should resume school by 7am and close by 5pm or 6pm is uncalled for.

Today, a child's long break is used for extra lesson( parent-teacher arrangement). What a scam! Our over sabi is just too much.

A child will go to school by 7am and close by 5pm for five days out of the seven days in a week. And most times, the child will still have home lesson from 6pm to 8pm.
During weekends that child comes home with many assignments in all the subjects he or she is offering in school. So there won't be time to rest and play through out the weekend.

The child does that for almost four months hoping to enjoy the holidays only for schools to come up with a scam in the name of holidays lesson.
What exactly do you want to teach that child?

Dear parents, summer holiday is a period you allow a child to experience other things in life apart from formal education. Formal education is just a part of education.
Allow them to travel for the vacation and if you don't have money for vacation, take them to a place where they will learn new skills.
Let them go and learn how to draw, computer coding, how to play musical instruments, play football, learn business, singing, learn foreign languages etc

Allow this children to explore life. Education is made up of three(3) domains....Cognitive(head) Affective(Heart) and Psycho-motor(hand).

Everytime should not be Book, book, book (which is cognitive alone) that is why most of our youths are unemployed because they can't do any other thing apart from white collar job. In fact, many of our girls/ladies cannot really cook because they were busy with books, when they were supposed to learn domestic and home keeping ! Bookism is affecting this generation!

Let's support wholistic Education, say no to this current scam !

This wonderful piece by PRINCE ADEGBEHINGBE & ADENIYI FRANCIS is so apt! And that's why we are introducing The BuildingBlocks Learning Centre to you.

CrimeSouth African Lady Recounts How Her Dad, Uncle And Friend Raped Her Over Lesbian by stane007(op): 9:35am On Jul 30, 2018
A South African lady @Smoochie_Dk, took to Twitter to narrate an ugly rape experience she was subjected to by her dad, uncle and his friend all because she was a lesbian.

According to the South African lady, she was only 15-years-old when her drunk father forcefully had sex with her. She added that after the rape, she lost her respect for him. The South African lady further disclosed that her Uncle and his friend who came around that same day, also rape.

@Smoochie_Dk, further revealed that after a rape case was opened against her father, her relatives ganged up against her, claiming she was only doing it because her father left her mother. Read tweets from the South African lady below;

'I was raped by my own father, my uncle and his friend. Read this thread.

On that day my grandmother wasn't around, she went to visit her relatives in a place called "Dennilton in Limpopo", so at home it was me and my father. I was 15 years old when my father came into my room intoxicated and forcefully had sex with me. I never thought a father could do something like that to their child, their own blood.

I loved and respected him as a parent, but ever since that day I've lost respect for that man and I cannot proudly say he is "my father" a responsible father, a carrying father and a loving father. He said to me "my child I hate what you're doing and today I'm going to prove to you that you're a woman, you're not a man you're a woman so you need to like one" I knew what he was on about because my father hated the fact that "I am a lesbian" he was actually homophobic.

He then pull off his shoes and took off his pants, while I was still in bed trying to understand why is he taking off his pants he said to me "Take off your clothes so that if you decide to open a case I will tell the police I didn't rape you, you seduced me".

I tried to talk to him but he couldn't listen, he even slapped me for begging him not to do it, he slapped me for asking him not to rape me. I was young and couldn't fight him back, I was even afraid to scream so I couldn't, he took off my clothes and then pushed me into the bed, by that time I was fully naked and he was wearing his t-shirt but nothing to cover his private parts.

He then came on top of me, he took his penis and placed it into my vagina and then he raped me, I've cried and cried but he couldn't stop, every time I close my eyes I remember what my father did to me and I always blame myself for everything that happened. After he raped me he said "Ngane yami ubaba uyakuthanda ufuna nawe ube ngumfazi nje ngabo bonke abafazi, uNkulunkulu wabumba u'Adamu kwathi lapho embona enesizungu wabumba u'Eva ukuba ahlale naye abe nguNkosikazi wakhe".

He then dressed up and left the room immediately after dressing up, I was still young only 15years and didn't know what to do and who to talk to, I kept on crying and crying and it was so painful and yet so heartbreaking. Later that day my uncle came home with his friends and and they also raped me, he said he was looking for my father, and I told him my father was not around and I don't even know his whereabouts, he replied "ngizomlinda mchana".

I then left him with his friends in the dining room and went to my room to bath since well I didn't bath after my father raped me, after some few minutes my uncle came into my room. Then he found me naked, he didn't even knock because there door wasn't there but "a curtain " but still that doesn't justifies what he did.

Instead of him saying "sorry" and return to his friends he came closer to me and spank my ass and said to me "mchana ka Malume man" I started crying because it reminded me of what happened earlier and had to ask him to stop what he was doing. He said "don't worry mchana, angeke ngikulimaze" I then knew my uncle was going to rape me too, I tried to scream this time but his friends too were as bad as him and they helped him rape.

One of them went to check if there was anyone coming, meanwhile the other one grabbed my hands and held them tight to the floor. They were older than me, I'm a woman and they overpowered me I couldn't fight them back, I was so weak that I couldn't even cry anymore, after my uncle was done. His friend came on top of me and then did the same.

I felt helpless, useless and like I could just die. Why didn't they just kill me and save me from this pain? It wasn't easy and it's not easy, I've tried to kill myself several times because this pain is too much. In the midnight I kept on crying and couldn't sleep, so I went to my neighbor's place to seek help, (my father didn't come back home that night) I told my neighbor everything about what happened earlier I was so scared that she would judge me, and that she'll laugh at me.

Although it wasn't funny but I was scared. My neighbor took me to the police station to open a case then to the hospital, but still my father is a free man even today he's still is a free man. Only my uncle and his friends were persecuted and not my father. But Why?

I became a bad child in my family, my paternal family, everyone called me names, saying I hated my father because he left my mother. They said "ngine nhliziyo embi" and that I was "ugly" some said "ngiyivezandlebe". I keep on asking myself this question "Why didn't they just kill me, because this is a hard thing to live with" every time I find myself a new girlfriend I have to explain myself "Why am I not a virgin". Sometimes I'd just stop in a middle of a "hot sex round". Because it reminds me of what my father, uncle and his friend did to me.  It reminds me of everything I should forget about, it brings back memories and not just memories but bad memories' the South African lady wrote.

CrimeDismissed US Soldier Nabbed In Owerri For Defrauding Visa Seekers by stane007(op): 5:48am On Jul 30, 2018
A dismissed US soldier identified as Garrick Slacks, has been arrested by operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad in the Imo State Police Command, for allegedly defrauding Nigerians with fake promises to secure visas and other travelling documents to US.

The suspect who is currently in Police custody following his arrest on Saturday, admitted that he was dismissed from the US military in 2015 over his involvement in cocaine peddling.

It was gathered that two pairs of military uniform, a cash of over N2m, military fez cap, jungle boot, fake military identity card, fake driving licence and a car, which he used in making his fraud look real were recovered from the suspect.

Southern City News reported that a police source alleged that the dismissed US soldier was in Nigeria on a special mission to defraud Nigerians, adding that he changed his location immediately money was paid to him.

“He was a serial fraudster who had used his position as a foreigner to defraud Nigerians, who are desperate to travel abroad, especially to the US.”

“He is a serial and sophisticated fraudster. He was arrested this afternoon (Saturday) while he was hurriedly leaving Owerri for Port Harcourt.

“He is equally impersonating the US Army and Nigerian Army at the same time. His targets are mostly women. He would promise them marriage and tell them that he had the capacity to secure their visas and other travelling documents to America with his position as a colonel in the US Marine Army and as an American citizen.

“He has confessed to the crime and the forensic investigation we have done using his fingerprints revealed that he is a wanted man in California and he only ran to Nigeria in February to continue his heinous crimes.

“Just five days ago, he defrauded a young widow N500,000 with a fake promise that he would secure stay visa for the widow’s three children. He was about running away from Owerri before we tracked him. Could you imagine that the lady we used in tracking him, he had promised to marry her on meeting her for the first time this afternoon (Saturday)

“All the exhibits we recovered from him are fake. The military identities which he used to make his fraudulent activities look genuine. He was even beating security men to this game until we nabbed him,” he said.

On his own part, the dismissed US soldier who said he was sorry for his actions and was ready to make amends if given the opportunity, added that he came into the country in February and was ready to refund one of his victims (the widow) her money. The widow became the suspect's victim in her bid to afford good life for her three children.

Confirming the arrest of the suspect, the Imo State Police Commissioner Mr Dasuki Galandanchi, described the development as one of the dividends of community policing in the state as instructed by the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris.

RomanceOur Culture Of Marital Pressure And Shaming People Isn't Good -twitter User by stane007(op): 8:20pm On Jul 29, 2018
Making a Twitter thread on marital pressure and life choices, @eketiette recounted seeing a bride stop cold on the steps of a church and say, "This is more than cold feet. I can't marry him."

According to the Twitter user, she understood that decision and admires the lady's bravery. She further added that our culture of marital pressure, and shaming people into remaining in such situations isn't a good one.

Her tweets reads;

I once watched a bride stop cold on the steps of a church & say, "This is more than cold feet. I can't marry him." At the time, I only saw her fear. Today, at last, I understand. I'm amazed by her bravery. *sigh* Doing the right thing. It's hard, it hurts, but it must be done.

Now I have to make a thread because of the replies from some men. I wasn't expecting the anger and condemnation. It's easy to hold your phone and type hard words. Until you find yourself in the situation. Be honest. We don't always do the right thing at the right time.

Or do what we really need to do. Many of us studied or are still studying courses our parents picked out. Or working jobs we hate do S to please family/society. Because we couldn't stand the heat th at came with making the hard decisions.

In doing these, we lose time, money, opportunities, etc. We even hurt people. It is the way of life. Now, I don't know about you guys, but I've been in situations where everything looked perfect but my guts told me otherwise.

People urged me on because the person/business/situation looked perfect. Like this case. He was a good man. But he wasn't the one for her. People told her he was; he too. Could she have quit earlier? For sure. Would it have been easier? No. Because we live in a society...

..where calling off a wedding ceremony is almost a taboo. And no matter how hard we try, we constantly battle with the 'what will people say' syndrome. So, until you've stared parents/society in the face and followed your heart/guts, don't say this isn't bravery.

Until you've never lost anything because you always got it right, don't knock this too hard. A little understanding, that's all I ask. Oh, I also feel the irrepressible urge to add that when the dust settled, he was grateful she didn't go through with it. He married someone else ten months later. She married someone else two years later.

Judging by some replies, my parents should call me, "selfish, barbaric, callous, insensitive..." I mean, they spent millions to ensure I became a barrister yet I refused to practice the law because writing makes me happy.

Imagine their horror when I quit my job at the Supreme Court. Why didn't I quit while filling my JAMB form? Selfish me.  Our culture of marital pressure and shaming people into remaining in such situations isn't a good one. Just so you know. Now, I rest my case.

CelebritiesWaje's Depression Story, How She Broke Her Phone by stane007(op): 5:31pm On Jul 29, 2018
Waje, who is one of the A-list songstress in the Nigerian music industry has disclosed how she went through depression and overcame it.

According to the singer in an interview with Pulse, a depressed person does not even know that they are depressed, they will give every reason to think that they are not in that place. Waje also added that since she came into limelight, she has learnt how to guard her territory.

Here's what she said;

"The thing is, many times when people talk about depression, I always come from the angle where there is a difference between depression and anger. A depressed person does not even know that they are depressed, they will give every reason to think that they are not in that place. When you are depressed, you don't want to eat, you don't want to go out, your life stops literally.

"I have come to realise that being someone in the limelight, you have to guard your territory, I have been in that space where... I wouldn't say mine was depression, mine was anger management, it was a kind of depression but the only way I could express myself was through anger.

"I remember that time, that was the year we got signed as Glo ambassadors so actually my career was doing really good. I just released my album, I was nominated in four categories in World Music Awards every year, money dey come. But I had anger issues, why because I just didn't see myself the way I wanted to see myself. I saw myself through everybody's eye. I would look at you and whatever you tell me about me is what I would accept.

"I remember one time I was so angry, I didn't want to break my because na me pay for the tv, I broke my phone, can you imagine holding a phone and bending it like literally bending it, you can imagine the rage for being able to break a phone.

"I have come to realise that you have to guard yourself, you have to understand what is going on around you. You are in the limelight, there is Waje and there is Ebele, Waje is now, we are having this interview, Ebele is when I enter my house, don't come and tell me anything that is happening in social media and add to a headache that I already have. The only thing a depressed person needs is your time and love, not your judgment, not telling the person that he has to pray and trust God. Trust me the person knew about that before they went into that state,"she said.

Waje also disclosed that she changed her friends;

"I changed my environment, the people I hung out with a lot. I changed my friends, I started looking out for friends that would tell me things to boost my ego. The truth is that your friend is the person that would tell you the truth about you. What is the truth, the is that you beautiful, you are amazing, you are peculiar, you are unique, you are strong, you are bold, false, yes but that doesn't take anything away from you.

"I started spending time with friends who would lift me up, a lot of it had to do with Uzzy because I was working with Uzzy at that time, half the time out sections would be Uzzy talking to me, he was like my sponsor, he was like my therapist. We would have conversations, sometimes it was just me talking he would not even give me any answers. And then I go to this Present House, Pastor Tony Rapu, I started going through that detoxifying and I was going through discipleship, it was just a personal thing for me. Thank God I was able to recognise love when I found it, because those that really love me, it was in their actions, not the mouth," she concluded.

CelebritiesSimi Reacts To Being Contracted With ₦200M For Buhari’s Re-election by stane007(op): 3:11pm On Jul 29, 2018
Simi, is definitely not pleased with the report which alleged that she was contracted with ₦200M for President Buhari's reelection through the 67 Million Youths Initiative.

The report from LeadersNG reads;

An investigation by LeadersNG into the activities of the promoters of 67millionyouth Initiative has revealed that many of them are proxy working for President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid.

A presidency source who pleaded not to be named told LeadersNG that the Senior Special adviser to the president on Social Investment Programs, Ismael Ahmed is the brain behind the project.

The source further stated that many of the promoters of the project were actually those that worked for President Buhari’s emergence in 2015. The source said, it was not an easy task in convincing the promoters to get on the project as many of them voiced out their frustration with the administration and the manner they were discarded after helping the president to win the 2015 election.

Though the organizers of the project said the 67MillionYouth Initiative is a coalition of Nigerians with the mandate to galvanize active youth participation in politics and leadership in Nigeria, our source told us in confidence that the initiative is aimed at galvanizing support for President Buhari who has lost popularity amongst the youths.

Most of the Trustees of the initiative are active members of the All Progressives Congress with few others from other political parties which make up the list to make the initiative look non-partisan.

One of the trustees by name, Debola Williams co-owned the RED media with Chude Jideonwo, that vigorously campaigned for the Nigerian leader to become president in 2015.

The RED media according to LeadersNG investigation was contracted in 2014 by the then DG of Buhari’s Campaign Organization, Mr Rotimi Amaechi to help launder the image of the Nigerian leader whom many believed was a perpetual runner and unelectable leader.

On the list of the 67millionyouth are prominent APC members and artistes who have been contracted to use their huge followership to sway young people.

Most of the delegates on the 67millionYouth initiative are aides of the President, ministers, principal officers of the National Assembly and governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

LeadersNG also gathered that one of the delegates, Nigerian R&B artiste, Bankole Wellington AKA Mr Banky W has been contracted by President Buhari’s administration to promote the president’s re-election bid under the guise of the 67millionYouth initiative. Her colleague Simi is alleged to have been contracted also.

Banky W earlier this year announced the dissolution of the record label arm Empire Mates Entertainment (EME), which he co-founded with the son of former Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Harold Demuren.

The singer in an Instagram post said, EME’s business venture will now be marketing, advertising, public relations, branding, shooting of television commercials and documentaries.

He named TV personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, OAP Tolu ‘Toolz’ Oniru, wife of Captain Tunde Demuren, DJ Xclusive, and Adesua Etomi as the first set of clients of the rebranded company.

LeadersNG through a presidential source learned, the campaign organisation is in contact with many A-list artistes, many of whom are indifferent to President Buhari’s brand and have said they can’t put their careers on the line for a president who is believed to have performed below average.

However, many of the delegates LeadersNG spoke with before filing this report said they were surprised to find their names on the list as they were not informed before putting up their names.

“The organizers are just looking for a way to legitimize their fraud! I was never at anytime, a member of any youths group” . A delegate whose name was included on the list without her consent told LeadersNG.

Our Investigation further revealed that the sum of Two Hundred Million Naira (N200M) has been budgeted for the project to take off. The money LeadersNG learned was sourced from the NNPC through the SSA to the President on Social Investment Programs, Ismael Ahmed.

However reacting to the report in her tweets, Simi stated that she has never heard of the  67 Million Youths Initiative. Simi wrote

First Of All, I’ve NEVER EVEN HEARD OF this initiative!! Second, only an illiterate, desperate, useless and misguided “news” platform would put up something so incriminating, without doing their research. If you believed this with no proof, you’re kind of part of the problem!

If you even really know me, you know what I stand for. I don’t pretend about it!! I’m not quiet about it!! So if some random outfit posts something like this for attention, and you are quick to accept it as truth without actually confirming, it’s disappointing!!

And I’m upset and irritated that I even have to defend myself against something so false, it’s stupid. If you follow @LeadersNG, you should unfollow and block them. These ridiculous people, even after we denied it, posted the story AGAIN! Shame On You!

CrimeSARS Officers Shoot Bus Driver In The Head At Point Range In Ikeja (Graphic Pics by stane007(op): 10:37am On Jul 27, 2018
Here is yet another story of SARS officers brutality, and a bus driver and conductor were victims of this latest attack.

According to #EndSARS campaign chief @Segalink, the incident occurred by 10pm yesterday in Ikeja when the SARS officers were harassing the bus driver and conductor. His tweets reads;

For those seeking how to contribute to #EndSARS #ReformPoliceNG given that people die daily from the impunity of the Armed Robbers and Kidnappers issued Guns by the state to run amok. Please report @YomiShogunle’s handle today for being Hateful & Abusive. #PowerBelongs2U

At about 10pm yesterday, a commercial bus stopped somewhere in Ikeja as alleged and the driver and conductor were confused on what to do to clear off the road. SARS officers showed up as usual and started harassing them. The driver pleaded but was shot in the head at point range.

This happened at the computer village in Ikeja as reported yesterday night. Yet this unconciounabke man dare mock us for holding them accountable?

U’re advised not to engage this corrupt officer occupying a sensitive position in any way. Be a better citizen & report the account. His insensitivity is affecting many bereaved families & this goes to show how corrupt the system is keeping him there. #WorstPoliceInTheWorld

The media is awash with the activities of their brigandage yet he mocks the bereaved and victims of police brutality and impunity? Please use your power people. Save Lives. #EndSARS #ReformPoliceNG

Just ask yourself this: How would a parent who found his only son being pulled out of the well covered in Maggots react to Yomi Shogunle’s daily dose of demonic insensitivity? How would the family of Angela Igwetu feel seeing his attempts at cover up?  #EndSARS #ReformPoliceNG

CelebritiesMercy Aigbe’s Ex-husband Lanre Gentry Slams Police Boss, Dolapo Badmos by stane007(op): 8:19am On Jul 27, 2018
Mercy Aigbe's ex-husband, Lanre Gentry, who reacted to a post by Zonal Police PRO, Dolapo Badmus,  accused her of being the ring leader of actresses who live fake lives in Nollywood.

Dolapo Badmus who shared an inspirational post on people who lead fake lives on social media, recounted how she met someone aboard a flight taking pictures of himself in first class. She wrote;

SOCIAL MEDIA IS A FICTITIOUS PLACE, STOP LIVING YOUR LIFE BY IT.

I could remember a journey I made to UAE early this year, on arrival I saw a young guy with his friend came through from Economy class and sat on a seat in the business class....Due to my curiosity I asked him "why are you taking a picture at Business class since you flew economy?" He responded "mama you don't know what's up, it's called flexing..When I post this picture on gram, they will hail me that I've arrived" I laughed so hard and told him that could be misleading! But he shruggingly walked away!, That left me thinking of how people can fake it! If you take a cue from everything you see on social media and want to be like that, you may end up behind bars! Most of those things are not real, don't go out of your way to commit crime just to be like someone else.....those hailing you won’t be there when the chips are down.

However reacting to the post, Mercy Aigbe's ex-husband, Lanre Gentry wrote;

Oga madam police as a ring leader, who use to carry banner with all your fake nolliwoodd friends ,Madam Dolapo you know them very well ,some of them are in Qater ,and you know that they are living fake life in overseas.

Dolapo Badmus on her own part asked him to stop hiding behind his keypads and mention names. She wrote in response to the comment;

@asiwajulanregentry just mention name sir! Don’t hide behind keypad

A quick check revealed that Lanre Gentry's comment, might be coming from the grievances he holds against the police spokeswoman who joined his former wife and some other Nollywood divorcees in a placard carrying war against domestic violence last year shortly after his domestic violence saga.

CrimeCar Snatcher Caught With 12 Vehicles, Says 'hardship Pushed Me Into Car-snatchin by stane007(op): 6:37am On Jul 27, 2018
A car snatcher who was among nine suspected armed robbers and kidnappers arrested by the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Rivers State, has confessed to robbing people of their vehicles at gunpoint.

The car snatcher identified as Uche Ani, from Amuzu in Enugu State, told newsmen that he was a member of a non-governmental organisation, before living became very difficult for him. According to him, hardship forced him into robbing people of their vehicles.

The Rivers State Police Command recovered 12 snatched vehicles, all Toyota brands from Ani and arrested him alongside an ex-convict Andrew Atuse, who is his suspected accomplice. The suspect who further disclosed that was studying Accounting on a part-time basis in one of the tertiary institutions in Port Harcourt, said he was able to rob people of their vehicles and sell them immediately through a friend of his, Atuse, identified as a fake soldier; also arrested by FSARS.

Ani who has been snatching cars for over a year, told newsmen that the proceeds were used to solve some of his financial problems.

“I went into car robbery because of hardship and the devil pushed me into it. When we snatch the vehicles, we give it to him (pointing at the fake soldier) because he always posed as a soldier.

“We snatched majority of the cars in Port Harcourt. We snatched some of the vehicles at gunpoint while others were taken away where they were parked with master keys.

“The military man (fake soldier) carries the cars. It is the Army man that brought us into this business. Like I said, when we collect the cars, we give it to him (pointing at the fake soldier). I am an undergraduate,” the car snatcher said.

Atuse who also spoke to a Punch correspondent, said that the identification card and the Army cap he used were given to him by a soldier, and he was able to use his fake identity as a soldier to sell the cars.

“The first car they snatched after I was introduced to them (the gang); I bought the vehicle from them and resold it. One soldier assisted me by doing the Army ID card for me.

“He (soldier) also gave me a military cap. The last time I saw him was over a year ago. I don’t know how they got their guns. I have stolen eight vehicles on my own,” Atuse, who is from Edo State, added.

Mr Zaki Ahmed, the Rivers State Police Commissioner, explained that apart from the stolen vehicles recovered from Ani and Atuse in the Location area of Port Harcourt, the FSARS operatives also recovered one locally-made pistol, two cartridges.

A 55-year-old woman from Katsina State, Aisha Ibrahim, who killed her grandchild by throwing her into a well, has been arrested by the Niger State Police Command.

The incident reportedly occurred at Karaya Fulani Camp in the Rafi Local Government Area of the state, and according to Northern City News, she tied the girl with a rope and threw her inside the well in their compound just to get at the mother of the deceased, who is her daughter in-law.

Speaking to a news correspondent, the arrested grandmother said that since her son married his wife, there had been a lot of unresolved issues.

“I told my husband to tell his son to divorce his wife but he did not listen to me. My daughter-in-law is fond of insulting and assaulting me all the time and the only way I could pay her back was to tie her daughter with the rope and throw her inside a well to die so that she will equally feel the pains and agony I have been going through.

“We have been living in peace as one big family before my son married her; I have 12 children and all of us are living in one compound; she cannot come from somewhere to destroy the family I have suffered for years to keep, it is unacceptable,” she explained.

On if she felt remorseful killing her grandchild, she said;

“It was temptation, I didn’t know when I did it, I can’t just tell but may Allah forgive me. Honestly, it was a wicked act that can never be accepted anywhere in the world."

Muhammad Abubakar, the State Police Public Relations officer who confirmed the incident, disclosed that the suspect had confessed to the crime and regretted her action. He further added that she would be arraigned in court after investigation.

A Minna herdsman, Juli Umar has been arrested alongside two other robbers, operating in the Zaragi Maito Fulani Camp in the Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger state.

The suspects Juli Umar, 19; Adamu Amudu, 19; and Aliyu Isah, 19 who attacked and inflicted injuries on one Samaila Usman of Fulani Camp for refusing to surrender the money he made from sales of his cows, were arrested by the police operatives attached to the Wushishi division on Tuesday.

The Minna herdsman had before his arrest, been paid him off by his former Master with a cow as agreed, after working for six months. However he connived with other bandits to attack Usman, and knocked off two of his teeth during the robbery.

Confessing to the crime while being interviewed by newsmen, the suspect who blamed an evil spirit for his alleged misdeed, said;

PoliticsBenue Assembly Speaker, Principal Officers Impeached by stane007(op): 5:49am On Jul 25, 2018
Benue Assembly Speaker Mr Terkimbi Ikyange; his deputy, Mrs  James Okefe; and the Majority Leader of the House, Benjamin Adanyi, have been impeached by 22 out 30 members of the state House of Assembly, for alleged abuse of office.

After the impeachment of the Benue Assembly Speaker, former Chief Whip of the House, Mr Titus Ubah, representing Vandeikya  Kyan constituency was elected by the lawmakers as the new Speaker. Johnson Egli Ahubi ( Otukpo/Akpa) was elected Deputy Speaker while Avine Agbum (Makurdi South) was elected the Majority Leader.

It was gathered that the House had on July 10 adjourned sitting to August 15, 2018, only for the 22 members to have an emergency sitting on Tuesday.  The motion for the Impeachment of the Speaker and other principal officers of the House was moved by Mr Richard Ujege (Konshisha state constituency) and seconded by Mr Anthony Ogbu (Ado state constituency).

The newly elected Speaker, Mr Titus Ubah, told newsmen that Ikyange was unanimously removed as a result of his high handedness.

This is coming few days after lawmakers of the Imo State House of Assembly, officially served an impeachment notice on the embattled Deputy Governor of the state, Prince Eze Madumere. This came even as hundreds of the supporters of the deputy governor took to the major roads in the state capital, to protest the ongoing impeachment proceedings on the state’s second citizen.

The impeachment notice, which was served on the deputy governor through substituted means (newspaper publications) on Tuesday in Owerri was signed by the Speaker, Acho Ihim and 13 other lawmakers.

The impeachment notice which was titled, ‘Notice of gross misconduct’, outlined the alleged misconduct and addressed to Madumere. The notice alleged that the deputy governor had “concealment of felonious conduct affecting the presentation of self as an eligible candidate of office of deputy governor, Imo State, having been convicted and imprisoned for theft in the United States of America.”

Other allegations of misconduct include “absence without official reason of permission duly obtained from office for a period of three months.”

CrimeLebanese Man Assaults Nigerian In Novare Mall Lekki, Policeman Slaps Eyewitness by stane007(op): 8:51am On Jul 23, 2018
A Lebanese man spotted in a viral video on Twitter, has been accused of assaulting a Nigerian in Novare Mall Lekki, Lagos.

An eyewitness and Twitter user @madejibo who recounted the encounter, said the Lebanese man also attacked him when he brought out his phone to record the incident. According to him, after a Policeman was invited to handle the situation, he was slapped and detained at the mall till 12:30a.m.

Read his tweets below;

Am starting a thread on #lebanesebrutality in Nigeria in #Novarelekki

On the 20th of July, 2018, I came into Novare Mall to watch a movie Lara and the Beats at about 830pm. Ater the movie, on my way out, I noticed a Lebanese man in HandH restaurant and cafe ill treating a Nigerian and I brought out my phone to record

The Lebanese man saw me and accosted me with the sole aim of seizing my phone. I tried to resist but he over powered me. At this point, a group of security men came including a man who introduced himself as the Chief Security Officer (CSO).

The CSO ordered I handed over the phone to him but I blatantly refused. He sent a guard to call the police. A policeman came and without listening to my side of the story gave me a deafening slap and dragged me by my trousers (like a criminal) to a police post within the premises

I was forced by the police, Novare's security and the Lebanese man to delete the video from my phone. The staff that was been beaten by the Lebanese was cajoled to say that the Lebanese man was only playing with him.

Under so much duress by the police I was told to write a statement which was dictated to me. For the fear of my safety, I complied. The Lebanese man also claimed that I cut his wrist watch strap, but in the video, he had no wristwatch on while he was beating the staff.

The police said for taking the video I had done something criminal according to the law of the land. I was left to go around 1230am.

On my way to my car the Lebanese man tried to offer me money but I refused. After driving to safety by a stroke of thought, I recovered the video and posted it on Instagram.

I was thoroughly harassed in Novare Mall, a place I come to practically everyday to shop. I have also reported this incident to people in case I am attacked in the nearest future for putting out the video. #lebanesebrutality #Novarelekki

CrimeCourt Awards N.5m Against Church For Detaining Baby’s Corpse, Parent In Hospital by stane007(op): 6:55am On Jul 21, 2018
Eyi Enu Mission Hospital in the Idemili Local Government  Area of Anambra State, who detained a baby's corpse and his parents over their inability to pay off their hospital bill, have been forced to pay a N500,000 damages by an Anambra State High Court presided over by Justice Okuma.

Passing judgement on the lawsuit filed by Mrs. Ngozi Osegbo and Mr. Chinonso Osegbo against the  Registered Trustees of the Synod of the Diocese on the Niger, owners of the hospital in suit No: 0/255/2017, the court ruled that the act of hospitals locking up their patients from exiting their premises on the guise that they must complete payment amounted to forced imprisonment.

In the ruling made available to journalists in Awka on Friday, it stated that;

“The plaintiffs had taken their 11 months old baby to Iyi Enu Mission Hospital for treatment, but he died while undergoing treatment”.

The hospital was said to have reportedly locked up the plaintiffs and insisted that they would not be allowed to leave the hospital until payments were completed.

“The hospital thus detained the plaintiffs for more than 10 hours despite every plea to allow them put themselves together and seek for funds.”

“The plaintiffs had to approach the court for the following reliefs to wit:

A declaration that the defendants owed the plaintiff’s child (Marvelous Osegbo) a duty of care, and they breached that duty which resulted in his death.

“ A declaration that the action of the defendants’ security men in denying the plaintiffs exit from the  hospital and threat of grievous bodily harm with gun amounted to forced imprisonment”.

The parents who were detained alongside their baby's corpse, asked “the court for general damages in the sum of N500,000 and 35% interest per annum (or prevailing CBN interest rate) of the judgment sum from the date of judgment until final liquidation of the judgment debt."

While the court held that the plaintiffs had proved their case, the court also maintained that upon examination of the evidence of PW1 and PW2, it found that, “Their evidence in that respect which are consistent with their pleading and not contradictory were not challenged under cross examination by the defendants and therefore accepted by same.

The court frowned on the manner upon which the hospital bill was recovered, adding that the detention of the parents and their baby's corpse for 10 hours resulted to forced imprisonment.

It read,“The act of the defendants in detaining the 1st plaintiff for 10 hours in the circumstance of this case no doubt constitutes acts of forced imprisonment. I must deprecate the uncivil and indecent way and manner the defendants recovered the said hospital bill.

“It is not expected that the first defendant( hospital) particularly will engage itself in such uncivil and illegal means of debt recovery.

“Much as this court recognises the fear in disappearance of patients when it comes to payment of hospital bills or debts generally, I do not find it sufficient to justify illegality that two wrongs do not make a right,” the court stated.

The sum of N500, 000 was awarded against the Registered Trustees of the Synod of the Diocese on the Niger that owns Iyi Enu Mission Hospital, together with 35% interest on the judgment sum until final liquidation of same.

CrimeAngela Nkechi Igwetu: Family Asks Police To Go After Garki Abuja Hospital by stane007(op): 6:07am On Jul 16, 2018
The family of Angela Igwetu, the Corps member who was shot dead by a police officer has petitioned the police to go after the management of the Abuja hospital that attended  to their daughter as  autopsy report faulted the claims made by the hospital.

Recall that the corps member was shot at a checkpoint immediately after Ceddi Plaza by a police officer, identified as Benjamin Peters. The incident occurred after the deceased who rounded up her job at about 11pm on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, joined a few friends at a hang–out before their Passing out Parade scheduled for the following day.

The corps member who was rushed to the General Hospital, Garki, eventually gave up the ghost around 6am. Debunking the hospital's claims that it administered immediate medical aid to the deceased, Angela’s sister, Chinenye Igwetu told Punch's correspondent that the Abuja hospital's claims was at variance with what the autopsy report revealed.

According to her, Angela's organs were not affected by bullet. She added that the pipes inserted into the Corps member by the hospital broke her rib cage.

“The autopsy was carried out at a national hospital and the report is totally different from what the hospital said.

“I am not a doctor, but according to the doctors that carried out the autopsy, she was not properly examined.

“The report shows that she would have been saved if proper medical attention had been given to her. Even if she was attended to, it is definitely after a lot of delay.

“Based on the autopsy, the bullet was not supposed to kill her. In fact, all her organs were intact. Even her lung that was brushed by the bullet was not shattered. It was the blood that was clotting from the bullet injury that killed her.

“The pipes that they inserted into her at the hospital broke her rib as well. They brought her in by 3am and she died at 6am. So what did they do between that time frame?" she said.

A petition, which was written by the family’s counsel, Simphil  Associates to the Commissioner of Police, FCT Police Command, read in part;

“We are solicitors to Chief Geoffrey Igwetu (hereinafter referred to as our client), the father to the late Angela Nkechi Igwetu who died on July 4, 2018, at the Garki Hospital, within the jurisdiction of the FCT Command.

“According to our client, his daughter, late Nkechi, was allegedly shot about 3.05am along the road of the CEDI plaza, Central Business District, Abuja, and within five minutes of the incident, she was rushed to the Garki Hospital, Abuja, for medical attention. Surprisingly, the hospital refused to promptly administer the treatment on the grounds that the family must deposit N50,000 before any medical service would be rendered to her. They reportedly rejected an offer of transfer of the said sum to their account and insisted on production of the money in cash.

“The family claimed that the hospital watched  its  daughter died slowly, adding that after the Divisional Police Officer of the Central Area Police Division reportedly deposited N20,000 with the promise of personally ensuring the payment of the balance of N30,000, the hospital still refused to conduct medical examination on Angela.

“We are still in shock that after five days of the death of late Nkechi, the Garki General Hospital released a report, dated July 9, 2018, claiming among other issues that there was no ‘exit wound’ on her. Unbelievable!!!

“The condition/demand by the said hospital as pre-condition before the late Nkechi could be treated and the eventual refusal/neglect to give her the required medical treatment is contrary to the provisions of the Compulsory Treatment and Care of Victims of Gunshots Act signed into law by the President and Commander in Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on December 20, 2017.

“In view of the above, it is our brief to demand that you investigate the above allegations for the possible prosecution of the Chief Medical Director (CMD) and other staff of the hospital on duty on the early hours of July 4, 2018, for their failure to comply with the extant laws that will make it compulsory that people in the situation such as late Miss Nkechi found herself are treated promptly.

“Our client strongly believes that prompt medical care could have saved the life of his daughter, late Angela Nkechi Igwetu,” the petition added.

The deceased were in a Toyota Camry with the number plate, YLA 121 BJ at a checkpoint, when they were crushed by their colleague, who drove a Toyota Avalon, with number plate, YAB 366 JY. It was gathered that the two crushed customs officers died on the spot, while the driver of the Avalon was said to be unconscious at the Intensive Care Unit of the Badagry General Hospital, where he was receiving treatment.

FamilyMan Earns 150k In Lagos & Wife Earns 750k In Kaduna, Who Should Resign? by stane007(op): 9:54pm On Jul 15, 2018
A Nigerian man and Twitter user @ayobankole is shaking the biggest table in Africa which is the 'table of patriarchy', as he recounted an experience in church today.

According to the man, his church's Pastor asked a question which left many men in support of patriarchy, showing their known sides with their replies. @ayobankole said the question was "If a man earns 150k in Lagos, & woman earns 750k in Kaduna, who should resign & relocate after marriage?”

Read his tweet below and replies from some men;

So my Pastor just asked men in church: “If a man earns 150k in Lagos, & woman earns 750k in Kaduna, who should resign & relocate after marriage?”. Some men insisted the woman should relocate. Na patriarchy dey cause poverty for many men oo!

Imagine make person open him eye see poverty korokoro, & you use leg waka inside because of ego. I felt like slapping the man beside me that raised his hand in support of woman relocating. Oshi o da! Tscheeww

Ayeeee!!! What a sunday! Some men are legit in my mentions defending why the woman should resign because “it is a natural order for the man to give”. Ogun kill nature, Ogun kill order, Ogun kill giving. What is wrong with receiving??

From some men’s reactions to this tweet,I see a huge problem. Men think that it’s just being solely financially responsible in the home that earns a woman’s respect.They also think a wife earning more than them is a problem. Myopic thinking. This isn’t theory,I’ve seen it happen.

I know countless men that have left their jobs to relocate to meet their wives, because their wives had a better life. They eventually caught up, because they had the competence & intellectual acumen. Don’t stick your family in poverty cos of ego. It’s stupid.

A woman will default to you if she knows you are superior intellectually & emotionally, & more importantly, if she knows you are responsible and have her back. If your wife earns 5x more, it creates room for you to chase your dreams, & vice versa. Don’t be trapped in patriarchy.

What really matters is understanding, love, & your own capabilities & behavioural patterns as a man. All of these ofcourse should have been established before marrying. But always remember, it’s not only the money - you can have more money & wifey still disrespects you.
