Jay-Jay Okocha who was one of the guests at Supersport studio today for commentaries on the world cup competition France won, talked about about the French players who made the French team. The footballer who noted that it was beautiful to see players like Mbappe, Greizmann and many others with great qualities replacing old players, said that 'back home, we are used to Presidents that never want to go away'.

Actor David Nnaji and husband of singer Jodie has denied welcoming child with sidechick, while also blasting Punch Nigeria.

The 32 year actor and producer, who started his career as a child actor, had reportedly confirmed to Sunday Scoop that he just had a baby with another woman but his marriage to singer, Jodie, is still intact.

Well, David Nnaji has come out to slam Punch Newspaper over his recent interview with them also calling them “manipulative and idiotic.”

He took to his Instagram page to tell his followers to disregard the report, he wrote;

There was pandemonium today in  Pogo Minna of Niger state, as a depot of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) was gutted by fire.


The leakages from the pipes at the Depot which caused the fire was noticed on Saturday night, and  Vanguard reported that some black marketers stormed the area and started scooping fuel from the leaking pipes which later caught fire.

Though no life was lost, it was gathered that the fire started around 11am yesterday and this greatly affected traffic along the Minna-Suleja road as vehicles could not pass through leaving commuters stranded. Security Agents including the Police, Civil Defence and Niger State Emergency Agency, (NSEMA) were all at hand to spread to the main NNPC Depot, and also kept the miscreants away from further scooping.

“We have been on ground since yesterday the leakage started but despite our presence and vigilance, these desperate miscreants or black marketers eventually caused the fire outbreak as they still sneaked to the gutters to start scooping.”

“However, we were able to dislodge them from the scene later and this eventually saved the situation from getting out of control and also averted casualties" a staff of the depot said.

A resident of the area Malam Abdul Baba Mohammed who confirmed the incident, disclosed that when the leakage started towards Saturday night, it ran through the gutters which later attracted the black marketers to the area who started scooping.

“Despite the presence of security men including Police and Civil Defence among others, the boys refused to stop and the fire eventually started but the prompt arrival of the state fire service to the Scene saved the situation from totally going out of hand.”

The Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mallam Ibrahim Yahaya, on the other hand said, “for now we have not been able to ascertain the level of damage because our primary objective is to see that the fire is totally put off and prevent these black marketers from further scooping in order to safe lives.”

86-year old creator of Senwele Yoruba music genre, Iya Aladuke, in a new interview recounted how her grandchild died in a car she received from a fan, an incident she described as an unforgettable incidence in her career.


The music legend in her interview with NAN, disclosed that the accident occurred three days after she took delivery of the vehicle given to her by her fan.

“Being a musician is a difficult task because it has a lot to do with metaphysical power. I recall many years back when I sang and was given a vehicle.

Three days after I got the gift, I was involved in a fatal accident that claimed my grandchild and the vehicle was written off.

“I had so many ugly experiences and I saw a lot as a musician that almost discouraged me. I wanted to back out, but I persisted,” she said.

Iya Aladuke also stated that music in those days was believed to be associated with metaphysical powers, which according to her informed her decision not to encourage any of her children to take after her.

“Music in those days was not a profession you would like to hand over to your children.

“Can anyone give birth to a child and send him to choose commercial driving as profession?

“The plan of every parent was for his or her children to go to school to study and become lawyers, engineers and doctors" the musician, who spoke in Yoruba language said.

Iya Aladuke who disclosed that she did not learn the music from anyone but she got her inspiration from God, added that the record hit that brought her to limelight was Won lasewo ni wa (they say we are whores), but that she paid heavily for it.

“I suffered over the record but God rewarded me in His own way. So many people castigated me because of the record; they claimed it contained foul language.

“But because of the wide acceptance of the music, it made me so popular and those who castigated me later came back to praise me.

“I have even done collaborations with young musicians like Fuji stars Saidi Osupa and Wasiu Ayinde. My doors are wide open to others who may want collaboration with me for musical production,” she said.

Speaking over the arraignment of former Benue State governor, Mr. Gabriel Suswam, by the Federal Government, over alleged illegal possession of arms, President, National Association of Benue State Indigenes, NABENSI, Moses Mwarga Aji, has stated that any Benue indigene who votes for President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 general elections will be cursed.

Aji who challenged Buhari to withdraw his inaugural remarks that he belongs to everybody, told newsmen in Kaduna that President Buhari’s action and body language has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he belongs to the Fulani extraction only.

NABENSI President who argued that a lot of people have been carrying arms illegally in the country without any arrest by the federal government’s security agencies, described the arrest and arraignment of the former governor of Benue State as unfortunate.

“I think president Buhari should go back and withdraw his Inaugural speech that” I’m for nobody, I’m for everybody”. President Buhari has shown clearly that he belongs to the Fulani extraction and apart from that he does not consider any other ethnic group in this county outside the Muslims and Fulani herdsmen,” he said.

“A lot of people have been carrying arms illegally moving around with sophisticated weapons and nothing is happening to them.

“Where did the Fulani people get AK47 from, and moving around, busy killing people every now and then but nothing happened to them yet Buhari did not comment.

“How many arms were caught with Susuam. They are victimizing him because he’s a staunch member of PDP. But the prayers of the masses will guide him and protect him irrespective of the frustration and threat being meted out to him as former governor.

“A lot of people possess arms illegally, a lot of people are coming in with arms illegally and nothing is happening to them. Nobody has questioned them. Our borders are porous and people are getting arms in anyhow, why must it be the former governor of Benue State that’s illegal. What Federal Government is doing to him will make him more popular and attract more people’s sympathy with him politically,” he explained.

Aji enjoined indigenes of Benue State to remain calm, be vigilante and peaceful, saying there would be no development without peace.

“But if you’re push to the wall, you have no option than to react. I said this without fear of favour. Buhari has shown to the entire world that he is unfair.

“Miyetti Allah have been making provocative statements and utterances and later execute them. Can anyone compare lives of human beings with cow. Miyetti Allah have been reacting that it was a retaliatory killings and nobody or DSS arrested them.

“When over 200 were killed in Plateau, nobody was arraigned, it happened in Benue, Miyetti Allah claimed responsibility and nothing happen to their leaders.

“January first, Many were killed in Benue, January 13th, Miyetti Allah came out and said there will be more bloodshed in Benue, and it comes to pass but nobody arrested their leaders the claimants, so how can anybody say Buhari has been fair to Benue people who voted him massively against their Christian brother, Goodluck Jonathan?

“Let me send him a message to him, that Buhari has lost in the entire Benue State, nobody will vote for him in 2019. And anyone who vote for him in 2019 will be cursed,” he stated.

What started as a modest industrial strike action by English-speaking lawyers and teachers against the imposition of French in Cameroon, has spiralled into an unprecedented internal armed conflict, driving away Nigerian traders who have traditionally managed key markets in towns around the regions.


The report by Quartz Africa alleged that there are fears the country could slide into civil war, as the conflict persists. It was also gathered that in recent months, frequent clashes between government forces and separatists seeking to establish a state they would call ‘Ambazonia’, left scores of civilians dead, including women and children.

Activists who are all out to express their dissent, instituted a civil disobedience action called “ghost town”; which grounds daily activities every Monday, with extensions to some other key days, following the recurrent deadly confrontations which has provoked mass movement of people and relocation of Nigerian traders.

No fewer than 160,000 people have been internally displaced, while a further over 21,000 have crossed to next door Nigeria as refugees according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

Traders who spoke to Quartz see the operation as economically damaging, as at least one full business day is lost each week since late 2016. Those who dare defy the order risk facing the wrath of unknown arsonists who have burned down shops in nearby towns.

Restrictions of the movement of people and goods have further worsened the already deteriorating situation for businessmen. Armed secessionists called “Amba Boys” mount intermittent road blocks on-and-off along major highways in the troubled area. The government has also had to officially close its western borders with Nigeria on at least two occasions, while dusk to dawn curfews instituted by some local administrative authorities have simply helped to worsen the precarious situation.

NAN reported that the conflict has also been marked by the disruption of essential utility services, especially the supply of electricity and network interruptions to telecommunication services. Internet services were cut off for 136 days between October 2017 and February this year.

A funny drama involving Vice President Yemi Osinbajo played out today on Twitter after a Twitter user @GbengaGold called for the resignation of Nigeria's Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, who in an exclusive report by Premium Times was accused of certificate forgery. 


@GbengaGold has tweeted;

Premium Times reported that Adeosun failed to participate in the mandatory service scheme after completion of her university education in London.

Nigeria's 23rd Finance minister earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of East London, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Financial Management from the University of London.

She allegedly forged an exemption certificate many years after her graduation from the University of East London, Premium Times reports.

It was also alleged in the report that Adeosun’s official credentials show that she parades a purported NYSC exemption certificate, which was issued in September 2009, granting her exemption from the mandatory service on account of age. Meanwhile, Adeosun qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1994.

The National Youths Service Corps coordinates the National Youths service, a one-year-long service compulsory for all Nigerians who graduate from universities or equivalent institutions and are below the age of 30.

The service is a requirement for government and private sector jobs in Nigeria. The Nigerian law prescribes punishment for anyone who absconds from the scheme or forges its certificates.The Section 13 of the NYSC law states that eligible Nigerians who skipped the service are liable to be sentenced to 12 months imprisonment and/or N2,000 fine.

Subsection 3 of the same section of the NYSC law also prescribes three-year jail term or option of N5,000 fine for anyone who contravenes the provision of the law. In subsection 4 of the same section, giving false information or obtaining the agency’s certificate illegally is criminal with a jail sentence of up to three-years.

Nigerian dancer Korra Obidi who was in the news few days ago after sharing a video of a policeman who she claimed slapped her, has been accused of lying.

Recall that Korra Obidi who claimed that the incident occurred in Victoria Island, alleged that she was slapped when she attempted recording a video of the policeman sitting on her bonnet. She wrote on Instagram;

However an eyewitness who claimed she was present when the incident occurred, accused Korra Obidi of not staying in her lane because of the traffic jam. @Hotsucreee also alleged that the policeman never assaulted Korra Obidi. Here's what she wrote below;

The rivalry between Catholics and Protestants in Nigeria, played out again in a commercial bus in Awka,  Anambra State capital.


Facebook user Juliet Ifediba who shared the report, alleged that incident occurred after a Pastor who stood up to pray in the bus was interrupted by an elderly woman who was a catholic faithful. Read her story below;

Something happened in this bus on Tuesday
according to my mum who entered this bus in awka. She said "look at the man in black suit is a pastor. As the pastor stood up to pray, there is another elderly woman standing up.".. And from what my my mum learnt the woman is a Roman Catholics. So immediately the woman interrupted the pastors prayer and started with her's (which is rosary)she prayed the rosary for more than 30mins.

Meanwhile the pastor was waiting. But all of a sudden a man ask the woman to cut the prayer short so that the pastor can start with a general prayer which everyone knows(cos not all passengers are catholics) others supported the man. But the woman paid deaf ears and wasn't ready to stop.. She said. "we hv 21decades to pray" only the few catholic passengers understood and they was like, "madam PLS cut it short let's pray a general prayer.. Immidiately the woman started shouting on Top of her voices as if someone is dragging rosary with her.,, then the pastor who was waiting patiently found out that the intention of the woman wasn't to pray a peaceful prayers rather to bring a denominational fight....started a praise song through the as that video is a evidence that shows that 98% of the occupants of the bus join the pastor in praises.. The woman was left alone with hers..

"You won't believe what happened". Mum said. "The woman brought out a status of mary and began to shout sooooooooo loud. Creating a scene". It was somehow funny to me. Her prayers goes thus... Mary Mary Mary Mary Mary.. She was shouting Mary.. And singing all rosary hymn... All of a sudden war of prayer broke out passengers started casting out any spirit of distractions in the woman.. My mom made a comment heard in the background of the video. "God there is war in ur temple cos of ur name..
But mine is..... The woman wasnt dragging God with the pastor rather she was praying to mary(watch the video).
From the video I don't understand.. It seems the woman is crying too....

Why do we allow religion to eat half of our brain?
Why do we concentrate so much on church and overlook God.?
Why do Christians fight there selves?
Why don't we also care about humanity rather we only care about church?
Why do Christians forget that God is love,? therefore love should reign btw them.

Nigerian comedian Seyi Law, who was recently in the news after he bought a house in Lekki area of Lagos as a birthday gift, has disclosed that he once gained admission to study Medicine twice but lack of finance did not allow him to pursue the offers.


According to the stand-up comedian his mum who financed his education, could not afford the fees through medical school,  though he was not explicit on the role his father played.  Seyi Law who eventually studied Computer Science at Lagos State Polytechnic, also had this to say on 'celebrity breakups' in the interview with Punch's correspondent;

“The truth of the matter is that we get to see celebrity break-ups because they are always in the limelight. We have celebrities that have stayed together in marriages but people hardly talk about them. They like talking about the bad ones.

“Celebrity marriage break-up is like plane crashes. We hardly talk about flights that took off safely and landed safely. So, break-ups happen everywhere in all professions; but people don’t talk about them because they are not in the limelight.

“Marriage institution is sweet and tedious at the same time, we just keep hoping that we’ll keep understanding one another."

On comedy being a lucrative business, Seyi Law said;

“A lot of people know that comedy is lucrative. If you see how far I’ve come, then you’ll know how lucrative the profession is. This is basically the business I do. I got married out of it. I am able to take good care of my family. So, I will say it’s quite good.”

Asked what his fans should be expecting from him in the last six months of the year, the ace comedian said the Seyi Law 2018 tour that started in Canada in February and had moved to Dublin and London would continue in Port Harcourt, Abuja and other cities in Nigeria and Africa.

On a man who abused his daughter on social media last year, Seyi said, “We have sorted that out a long time ago. Thank God, we were able to come to a comprise.”

An aggrieved Nigerian man who is reportedly down with staph infection, has accused his girlfriend of infecting him with the disease, as he further alleged that she is a registered member of "small girl, big God" group.

Mamuzee Twins seems to have fired shots at Daddy Showkey as they said people should never feel bad when old friends become new enemies.

Just a week after Daddy Showkey called out the twins for neglecting their mother for 17-years which led to her death, they have returned to social media today with suggestive posts.

A Nigerian man has shocked many has he defended the killings by herdsmen, saying more humans should be murdered to equate the amount of cows killed.

As Nigerians mourn the death of scores of innocent people in Northern Nigeria, a man from the northern part of Nigeria has made a very insensitive comment equating the lives of humans with that of cows.

Abdurrahman Lawal said enough humans haven't been killed by Fulani herdsmen yet and suggested that more should be killed to equate the number of cows lost by Fulani herdsmen.

He wrote;

"I think the herdsmen deserve more sympythy since they stole 300 of their cows and they killed 200 which is not equivalent to 300. 100 more is needed for balance."

Shortly after the Plateau Police Command on Sunday confirmed the killing of 86 persons in the attacks on Razat, Ruku, Nyarr, Kura and Gana-Ropp villages of Gashish District in Barkin Ladi Local Government, Danladi Ciroma, the Chairman, North Central zone of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), has reacted to the recent attacks.

The Miyetti Allah Chairman who noted that despite the efforts of the state government, some criminal elements hiding among their people were still frustrating the peace efforts, said the Fulani herdsmen attack was in retaliation of the killing of over 300 cows in the last few weeks by the villagers.

“These attacks are retaliatory. As much as I don’t support the killing of human being, the truth must be told that those who carried out the attacks must be on revenge mission.

“There have been recent reports of cow rustling and destruction of farms between Berom farmers and Fulani herdsmen. The people carrying out these criminal activities are well known to the communities but the communities are hiding them.

“Fulani herdsmen have lost about 300 cows in the last few weeks – 94 cows were rustled by armed Berom youths in Fan village, another 36 cows were killed by Berom youths. In addition to that, 174 cattle were rustled and the criminals disappeared with them to Mangu.

“Since these cows were not found, no one should expect peace in the areas. Even soldiers that went after the criminals to recover the rustled cows were shot by the armed rustlers and eventually escaped with all the cows.

“The government of Governor Lalong has done a lot to restore peace, but the criminal elements hiding among their people are the ones frustrating these peace efforts.

“Though the security agencies have tried, they need to do more by being fair to all parties; they should not neglect any report presented by Fulani of Berom because such report can lead to attacks and deaths if not properly handled.

“Criminals thrive a lot in Berom communities, but when the Fulani, who are always victims of their crime, react with attacks, they blame the government.

“These communities have leaders, why hide the criminals? They should fish out the criminals and hand them over to security agencies to avoid death of innocent ones.

“As it is today, the Berom man cannot go to farm, the Fulani cannot breed his cows in Berom Land. This can be stopped if the security agencies do more than what they are currently doing. The attacks will stop as soon as the security agencies stop Berom youths from stealing Fulani cows” the Miyetti Allah Chairman added.

28-year-old Prosper Nwoke, an indigene of Osisioma Local Government Area, Abia State and father of four who is one of the suspects in the robbery gang alleged to have killed an official of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and buried his corpse after receiving a ransom of N6 million, has revealed that he established contact with the man that became his mentor in robbery and kidnapping while he was in prison.

The robbery/kidnapping suspect disclosed that he went into crime in 2016, following which he was arrested and taken to Port Harcourt Prison and the woman he married in 2010 deserted him.

“I went into crime in 2016. Before then, I was selling second hand clothes at Oil-Mill Market in Eleme area and Onyigbo Market in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. While I was doing the business, I was living with my elder brother at Chuba area of Port Harcourt, before he relocated to Sierra Leone. I moved out of his house and rented an apartment in Afam area of Onyigbo.

“There was a day I went to a night club known as Mr. Sweet at Second Artillery area in Port Harcourt. There I met one Anele who introduced me to armed robbery and kidnapping. Anele was a big spender at the night club and I admired him, so we became friends. I asked him the kind of job he was into and he said he was a businessman. But when we became very close; he told me that he was into armed robbery and kidnapping, saying that I could join him if I was interested.

“Since I needed more money to fend for my wife and children, I accepted Anele’s offer  and he linked me up with two other members of his gang—East-Man and Gift.

“We attacked a residential estate in Artillery area of Port Harcourt. We went with two guns and robbed some occupants of the estate of their phones and laptops. We took the stolen items to one Alhaji at Presidential Hotel Junction off Aba Road Port Harcourt and sold them.

“I don’t know the amount Anele got from the Alhaji, but I was given N25,000. I took the money to Onyigbo Market and bought some foodstuffs. One week later, some policemen got hint of our gang and arrested Anele who led the policemen to my house and got me and other members of my gang, including the Alhaji arrested.

The police took the Alhaji to his house and they recovered all the stolen items from him and they were given back to the owners while the police granted us bail. I went back to my second- hand clothes business. But two weeks later, one of my friends at Onyigbo called Chima came to me and told me that one of his friends called Available had been disturbing him with his plan to kidnap a woman because he needed someone who would help execute the job. I brought in Anele and his two friends and linked them up with Available, and they all agreed to do the job.

“After careful planning, Anele brought out his guns and we waylaid the woman on her street at Onyingbo. We kidnapped her and took her to an Island in Umuosi community in Afam area of Rivers State. One of my friends known as Chikere, who is a native of Umuosi, was the person who provided the camp we used. Anele also gave Chikere some money to always provide food and other items we would need to keep the woman.

“Anele was also the person communicating with the woman’s husband. Four days  later, Anele came to us at the camp and informed us that the woman’s husband had paid her ransom and he gave Chima, Chikere and I, N100,000 each as our share while he blindfolded the woman and took her away.

“I used my own share to buy a bail of used clothes and went back to my clothing business. I don’t know what transpired between Anele and the other guys over the sharing formula and they started quarrelling. The police came and arrested me while I was doing my business. They took all members of my gang, excluding Chikere, to court and we were remanded in prison custody. I spent 13 months in prison before I was granted bail and was released in December 2017.

“While in prison, I learnt of a man known as Italian, a highly notorious criminal with so many boys. He supplied arms and sponsored armed robbery and kidnapping operations in Rivers and other South-South and South-Eastern states. I met a lot of his boys in Port Harcourt Prison and they told me about him. One of them who was in the same cell with me linked me up with him. He gave me his phone number and I spoke with him from the prison. He asked me to meet him in Okrika.

“After I was released, I went to my mother in Aba, Abia State, and spent some months with her. So when I felt I needed to move on, I called his line and he asked if I was out from prison and I said yes. I told him that I had nothing and that I needed his help. He asked me to meet him in Okrika. When I got there, he accommodated me. I also saw several other boys who I had met in prison staying there"

The Department of State Services said it had arrested two Islamic State in West Africa commanders in Kukuntu village, Gwgwalada, Abuja.

According to the secret service, the suspects, Bashiru Adams and Rufai Sajo, were nabbed in Kukuntu village, Gwagwalada area of Nigeria’s capital.

Spokesman for the service Tony Opuiyo revealed that the suspects were arrested on 5 May after special operations on identified targets.

According to him, they were discovered to have concluded plans to spread the ideals of the terror group in the area.

It was also learned that the suspects were planning with Boko Haram to strike in the area.

The DSS also informed that after receiving intelligence reports, two experts in Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), Adamu Hassan, also known as Bale, and Abubakr Abubakar, also known as Alhaji or Buba, were apprehended.

Four men have been arrested in Rivers State for allegedly defiling an eight year old hawker.

The 8-year-old girl who hawks, was defiled by 4 men in in Ogoloma, Okirika, Rivers State.

The men, aged between 45 and 68 years, allegedly took turns to defile the girl on several occasions. The victim lives with her grandmother who usually sends her to hawk.

According to reports, the policemen attached to the Eleme Police Area Command have succeeded in arresting two of the suspects, namely Jehebamiema Nelson and Dere Somiari, while others are still at large.

The men s were arrested on the 14th of June, 2018 for defiling a girl and taking turn to rape her consecutively.

This has been going on for a while as the men rape the girl one after the other on several occasions. The girl lives with her grandmother who usually send the girl to hawk and also stays in the same compound with the girl’s father and her step mother.

The suspects are currently in police net pending time they will be charged to court.
