This is a warning to all Galaxy Note 3 Users. If you have received a notification saying that a new software is available. DO NOT UPDATE IT! This is the worst update ever released for the Note 3 and it causes battery to drain faster. Battery life is NO WHERE as good as what it should be. However, this is only a software issue and should be fixed by the next update! Come back to this thread from time to time, to check when I will tell you that it is Safe to update! This message is meant for those people that bought their Note 3 in Nigeria especially, as I am monitoring the Nigerian updates only and not other regions. Thank you.

How do I upgrade my samsung s3 SGH-T999 with 2gig ram to jelly bean 4.2.2 or 4.3 kit kat (if it's out).. It's my first android phone, been a month old and so I havnt really seemed to settle in to how those things are done (it's at version 4.1.1) at d moment...

also my phone only has allowance to switch from edge to 4g directly automatically or manually... No 3g or 3.5g In between and sometimes it sucks cos of battery.. why is that pls

can s4 battery work in s3?? I really need a stronger battery cos I'm a heavy user nd my battery fights for its life everyday

And finally, How much more cooler is yur fone wen rooted and what are d drawbacks? also where can Iget my phone rooted? Istay in onitsha, Anambra nd I don't think I know anyone who can do that here... doing it myself isn't an option either to avoid totalling my phone

Sorry mate, i only support internationla versions. Variants can easily have issues with Sim card lock and the rest. Cheers!

Try Wicked Series ROM. I hear they are great with tons of features... Just confirm that it is right for ur phone first.

Try http://kingoapp.com and if you like ur warranty, DO NOT upgrade ur phone to any Stock ROM from MJ6 or later. If you flash any MJ6 or later Stock ROM, you will 'PERMANENTLY' lose ur warranty, just like me! Cheers!

I got a nice deal on samsung galaxy S2 GT-i9100 int'l on ebay seller is from Canada.well after checking its description I realised it's unlocked but any refresh, loss of OS and even Upgrade would lead to the phone being locked again. So please I need your advice on this, would you advice I go for the device and is there any way to permanently unlock it...thanks in anticipation.

Sorry mate, u flashed a file that wasn't made for ur mobile. And you hard bricked it. Seems like something a USB JIG will fix. Google it and u will know what it is. when u put it into the phone usb port, it will boot into download mode and u can flash a stock ROM then. Unfortunately, USB JIGs are hard to buy in naija, even here in GH.. The only guy I found is about 6 hours away (Kumasi).

Best thing, just give the phone repair guys to Flash it for u. Sadly, they will charge u like 3 to 5K for something u can do urself in 4 mins 4 seconds

Use 'SuperSU' app from PlayStore (u might already have it installed if you are rooted). Go into the app, click settings and scroll to the end. then use the full unroot option there.

BETTER STILL, Flash a Stock ROM in ODIN from http://samsung-updates.com

If you are rooted, use Root Explorer or any other file explorer with root, go into data/app/ folder and delete all the .odex files u can find there. Try again.

Flash stock ROM in Odin. Get stock ROMs from samsung-updates.com, or Use Triangle Away if u have S2 or S3 (Triangle Away needs root). So basically, root it again, use triangle away then flash stock ROM in ODIN. don't know how to use it? Check first few pages.

Sounds like a clone phone to me. China phone perhaps. Boot into download mode and tell me what u found there. Check first few pages on how to boot into download mode.

Wadosky: Seriously am having serious issues with samsung respect to sg4, from battery to scratches on d aluminium or plastic chrome around d screen .the battery got so bloated that it is shooting the screen out from d pannel.now I went to their service centre and they said they will take it to lagos to ascertain if the fault is theirs or mine and it will take two weeks.
I think after everything I will offload it for a ridiculous low price and move to lg or sony.
guys be careful when buying this phone and mine is just 3 months old, what a waste of money!

Do ur research mate, this is a known issue. If you can't get a replacement. Then why not sell at a ridiculous low price as long as the phone isn't faulty and move to Sony or LG?

Make sure u are using recommended accessories (charger and battery). If you have custom ROM or Kernel, reflash it. And do not use the mobile while it is charging.

If you don't know what a kernel is, don't bother flashing it mate. Btw, do some research urself and read thread comments. Google search also. Dats how to learn.

Might be ur anti-virus. Temporarily disable ur firewall then the entire Anti-virus and see if it works

My advice is that u calibrate ur battery. Get 'Battery Calibration', the one by 'Professionals' from PlayStore. It costs only $3.22. Bought it yesterday... Amazing app!
