Don Demu: Pls i got this samsung galaxy s4 this morning, not brand new but "London-used". The issue i have is the phone is stocked on 2G as when i go to Settings>>mobile-networks, it will not change from "gsm only" to WCDMA or GSM/WCDMA(auto). Kindly assist me cos i have been going up and down google, android forums, youtube etc;and solution that seems to work for others refused to work on mine. I had to fall back on tethering wifi from my galaxy tab just so i can open a web page on the Galaxy S4 with no High BP. I am using Airtel on it and the sim seem to have 3G provisioning cos i tried on two other devices and the "H" sign with arrows pointing up and down was on the screen and the speed was fast. Kindly assist me pls before you guys mourn another nairalander (though some who see me as a menace will be happy if i Should "Proof vemuz SOB" ). Counting on you sir

If you are rooted, go into data/app/ and delete all the .odex files you can find there. Cheers!

The charger is an oem from samsung that came with my s2 and it works perfectly cos it charges my bro's s3. So I installed battery monitor pro and noticed that even when plugged in, the mA is still - something instead of +.

Get the apk from anywhere, a custom ROM maybe.
Then Push it to system/app/ using a Root enabled File explorer. Like Root Explorer (best) or ES File explorer
Long press the pushed apk and set Permissions as

MsTeez: thank you actually ended up figuring it out that they removed that in favour of using the pen on the capacitive keys. on note 2, you could navigate by pressing down the button on your pen and drawing > to move right, < to move left and ^ to bring up the menu. thanks tho

Actually, the Note 2 is the only recent flagship i never spent enough time with, it's an Awesome mobile tho. Cheers!

Oga, we can't help you with your MTN Network issues. Call MTN. Or change SIM.

The only thing I can suggest is Settings > Application Manager > ALL. Then scroll down to Google Play Store. Select it then wipe cache then wipe data. Reboot phone. Make sure ur phone is on 3G, then Try again.

I don't know exactly what u mean, but yes.. It was frustrating to always comeback and use ur finger for the capacitive keys. But on note 3, the S-Pen works on the Menu and back Capacitive keys.

Reboot into download mode, if you see a line like 'Warranty bit' then, you are 'F*CKED!'

I.e An ORIGINAL S3 charger. So, buy a charger! Blackberry chargers output is around 750mAh. And an S3 charger if i'm not mistaken should be around 1.0A (1000mAh). So it shouldn't work well! Also, drain ur battery completely. Turn phone on and let it go off by itself again, make sure it is flat so as the phone can't power on. Pull the battery out and let it sit there for about 15 minutes. Then put it back in, leave phone switched off and charge full, with your ORIGINAL Samsung Galaxy S3 charger. I'm sure you should be able to get one for around 2,500 to 5,000. If you think that is too expensive, wait till your phone has serious issues!

Yes! KiKat has been made even more 'Lite'. It is optimized even for older phones as the Nexus One with only 512MB of RAM. Note 3 and S4 will receive these updates officially starting January, while S3 and Note 2 somewhere in March/April or so.

Go into settings > Manage Applications > All Appllications. Scroll down to Google Play Store. Select it. Clear cache then clear data. Reboot phone and try Play Store again. Cheers!

Not exactly what we do here, but try the Etisalat 1,100 naira for 3GB. I'm sure that should be the best bang for ur buck. Look for the settings somewhere in the internet section or so...

Firstly, make sure you are using original Samsung chargers only, secondly, did you happen to flash a custom kernel by any means? If you did.. Reflash it. If not, Samsung chargers actually do that... Try a different socket. More preferably, a wall socket (not extensions).

If you did full wipe and it is still hanging, could it be an app you installed? IF you didn't full wipe, full wipe it from recovery mode. DOn't know how to get to recovery mode? Read first few pages.

NOTE: Wiping in Stock Samsung Recovery will wipe all the data in the internal sd. SO Backup whatever u need from there to ur memory card or better still, PC first!

Also, post ur current setup. ROM, build, kernel let me have a looksy. Settings > About phone then scroll to the end. The information there...

Is the OTA available for nigeria? I doubt it is... Anyways.. the only available one i see now is 'I9300XXUGMJ9' for the UK, which i heard it has battery drain issue. I will confrim from my Indian friend that flashed it yesterday and let you know. Cheers
