1. Wherever it was used doesn't matter. Even if it was used in Gabon or Zimbabwe. Only the model name suggests it's an international version.

2. Under normal circumstances, Yes! You Must Root and flash a custom recovery too. As most custom ROMs are in .zip format. Cheers!

Mate just wipe your phone and start afresh. Factory reset it. Look for the option in settings. First, backup everything u need to backup. Especially the files in the internal sd.

Same advice as the reply i gave before this. If doesn't work... Flash a Stock ROM in ODIN. Check first pages on how to do this...

Note 2 without thinking twice. Reboot into download mode to see the model of the phone and know that it is original. Check first page for how to reboot into download mode.

Use http://kingoapp.com dude. I voided my warranty by Flashing Russian firmware. And rooted with CF-Root.

Use kingoapp.com to root it. It's easier and safer...

Google and download 'Kies'. You can upgrade using that software.

lekside01: how do I put my s3 on permanent 3g or H (if possible). It switches to E automatically and its killing.

Go into settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks. Then change Network Mode.

WCDMA Only - 3G/HSPA Only (best for downloading)
GSM Only - 2G/EDGE Only (best for battery saving)
WCDMA/GSM - Automatically switch (Best if u don't want to bother or know about the first two)

Reboot into download mode and check there. You should see the model as GT-N7100. Don't buy if you see anything different.

Don't know how to reboot into download mode? Read flashing tutorials on first page. It's the same procedure.

Wanna have an idea of what I'm saying? Google 'Note 2 download mode' and ook at the images.

Mannylex: Stan please help, I flashed omega rom 4.1.2 on my galaxy s2 , but it ended up with a boot loop. It just get to the android animation, gets stuck and restart continuously. I restored the back up of my stock rom, but the same thing continues. .. I have done the factory reset and done all the necessary wipes... Please what next can I do? Must I install a fresh jelly bean again or any shortcut?

Did u try wiping cache and dalvik in custom recovery?
IF YOU DID,
Flash Stock ROM in ODIN. If phone still doesn't work, Full wipe in Stock recovery. (NOTE: This will wipe Internal storage of phone)

ODIN not detecting your phone? Install Samsung USB Drivers, you can Google it or check first few pages and download it. Restart computer after install. Try phone again, u should be in download mode also

But if you are one of those people that like Radio, S4 don't got radio. I never actually used FM Radio throughout when I had S3 lol. I even removed it.

It's not available for Nigeria yet. Android v4.3 dat is. It will be in the next couple of days/weeks. Just be patient. I'm guessing you are not rooted. Are you? And if you don't know what root is then u are not Rooted.
