Being a typical student who is subject to distractions and

procrastination, I allowed myself to take a one-day break from

studying every week to catch up on all of my activities at are

not study related. I would study from the beginning to the end

of the week and then be lazy for one whole day on every week.



Hence, we will look at 3 reasons why you need to prepare early



1. It gives room for unpredictable event: apart from the fact that early

preparation helps you guarantee your success in the exam, it also

help manage other facets of our lives like family commitments, manage

stress and overcome procrastination. Just like I did during my time,

I was able to manage all my social, relationship and study life which hitch

because I have enough time.



2. Maximize revision: A month before the exam called for a review

of all the important formulas. Doing the Adapt practice exam questions

and answers gave me that much needed review. I was feeling good

about the exam when it finally came as I had covered every single

topic on the exam thoroughly. I was prepared for whatever outcome

may come on the exam day as I had tried my best and had no regrets.

As a result, I passed all my papers on my first try.

Identifying and reminding yourself of your strengths will help you combat this bias to make sure you’re giving yourself a fair shot.





3. MAKE PLANS TO CELEBRATE WHEN THE RESULTS COME OUT: Planning something enjoyable for results day will give you something to look forward to instead of just fearing the day.



4. GET BUSY BY LEARNING SOMETHING NEW: This is a perfect way to shift your attention and focus on something productive. It’s like channeling the energy that would have led to anxiety to something that would improve your life. A prophet revealed what two friends were going to become in the nearest future. The first individual, a farmer and the other is a teacher. The farmer was told he was going to remain poor all his life while his friend was told he was going to become extremely rich just in a few years from that time.



Guess what the two friends did?



The first individual who is a farmer saw a need to work hard so as to prove the revelation wrong. So he worked hard from the onset and gradually started building his finances. On the other hand, his teacher friend dreams and imagines making lots of money and riches instead of working towards it.



12 years later surprisingly, the farmer became extremely rich and well known, while his friend became extremely poor.



What would you call this?

People dream and aspire to reach a greater height in life but 85% of people are not willing to work hard for it. In the story above, the farmer worked very hard because he knew what the future was going to be while the other individual sat back and waited for the riches to come when he didn’t work.



The entire story boils down to this:

Give me 7 minutes to explain this few tips that will transform and compel you to pass your ATS exam with ease:







1. Schedule your study session: draft a reading timetable that will make you keep to time and manage your time to be more productive. Start preparing your timetable now, not tomorrow but NOW!.



2. Reading techniques: Do you know that when you read, you can only remember 50% of what you read within 4 days, within a few weeks you will remember 5% of what you have read. Why is this happening? This is because there is no repetitive acquisition of knowledge. You need to go through your previous topics over and over again until it is intuited in your brain.



3. Depth of processing: If you take in information, and you want to remember effectively, change the process into what you understand. Like in mastering formulas, use alphabets to derive each meaning in your own way.



4. Find your productive study space: The environment you are most serious and active is the best environment for you to read.



5. Cut out distractions: Remove every form of distractions like social media and other things when preparing for your exams.



6. Build effective reading habits: Brushing your teeth every morning is a habit you cultivated since when you were young. This is also applicable to reading. Start with a small progressive habit and overtime you will get used to it. Set say, one hour aside to read and make it a specific time of the day.



7. Study hard: Hard work is going to beat talent when talent doesn’t work hard. If you strive for the best, you will get the best result.



Now that you are ready to work for it, just go for it.

That was the big question I asked myself when we were all shouting Happy New Year today, I remembered how I shouted the same last year and previous years.

After praying ...... What next!
After planning...... What next!
After new year resolutions.... what next!

Recently, I met a friend of mine, whom I haven’t seen for a while. This my friend I know, has been doing well in his job. And so, with that understanding that everything was alright with him, I asked in the usual way: how is work? He said to me “I don’t have a job again, I’m out of job” what happened, I asked? Sarah and Sam have been dating each other from their high school days but due to Sam’s act of excessive drinking of alcohol they broke up.



Few years later, they meet each other after they had graduated from university where Sara and Tim agreed to come back together. They lived together in a small apartment in south side Chicago where Sara works as an extra technician and nutritionist. They dated each other for a while even after Tim lost his job. Things were never going well for Sara because she wanted her boyfriend to marry her and stop heavy drinking of alcohol. After a period of time they could not cope with each other so Sara decided to break up. After sometimes Sara meat her old boyfriend who was planning to marry her and the wedding day was fixed; they had even started sharing their wedding invitation to people.



Few weeks later, Tim called Sara to ask for forgiveness but Sara told him about her wedding plans but he refused to let her go. Finally, Tim informed Sara that he would stop drinking if she can agree to his proposal to marry him. Sara decided to break her engagement with her current partner, cancel the wedding, retract the invitations, and let Tim move back with her.



Within a month, Tim informed Sara that he didn’t think he needed to stop drinking after all. Two years passed; Tim and Sara continue to live together exactly as before. They did not give up and they also said never to failure.

You need to see past failures as NEVER STARTING FROM BEGINNING BUT STARTING OVER WITH YOUR EXPERIENCES.
