Its normal to get angry, but beating up a girl to that point, na wa o, You could have walked out on her,  Apololgize to her and tell her how sorry you are, when you guys are back together you can raise the issue and tell her to control her self when she's angry. Beating a woman is not the right way to resolve issuess.
