The funeral service of late Plateau state Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Sam Galadima, took place on Wednesday 29/3/17 at ECWA Plateau Church, Jos. The service was attended by the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, the Deputy Governors of Plateau and Kaduna States, former Military Governor of Plateau State, Maj. Gen. Lawrence Onoja (Rtd),top government functionaries and other dignitaries.

Indeed late Arc. Sam Galadima was a determined and dedicated member of the Plateau State Executive Council, a true Plateau patriot and a community leader who will be dearly missed by his family, the government and people of Plateau State and Izere nation. May his soul and all the souls of the faithfuls departed through the mercy of God Rest In Peace. Amen.

'MY FIRST MEETING WITH PMB
I was invited by Katsina state APC party chairman, to come and perform, when I got to his office I said, sir where am I performing, he said the President is in town, the state government wants to host a dinner for him, come do your thing. I said OK. When I got there, I was called up stage, before then, the governor has sited me already, and told PMB, that's the boy that use to mimic you, he (PMB)was reading a document, immediately he heard that, he dropped the document, he was just anxiously waiting to hear from me, when I started, he was shocked, quite and was just looking at me, at the high table no one was laughing because he(PMB) has not, so they thought.Oh boy this man(PMB) no welcome this thing oooo. Not knowing, he was just surprised, how did this boy do it. When I was asked a question concerning corruption, my response/ answer left him with no choice but burst into laughter and governors, the emir, senators on the high table could not hold it any longer, they started laughing without stop. The governor of Katsina, Zamfara, Kebbi, and Kano were in attendance. After my performance. I requested for a handshake and a photograph with PMB, DSS came to stop me, I didn't stop, I felt like the general I was portraying , PMB asked them not to, before I got to where he was, he has stood up already, I had what I've never dreamt of in my entire life, yet it happened. After my photograph with him, the governor told him they're twins your excellency, he asked where is the other one, they told him is over there, PMB said come over too. With these, I want to believe no one will ask me questions relating to these, have you met him, you'll be arrested ooooo are you not afraid etc. The Video of that performance is on my YouTube channel, you can go there and watch as well. These happened in 2016 in Katsina.No be today'

The women of Isu in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State on Wednesday stormed Abakaliki protesting against the activities of Fulani herdsmen in the area.

The women who came in their numbers carrying placards with different inscriptions such as "Fulanis have destroyed all our crops and polluted our rivers and ponds,' ' Fulanis have humiliated us' among others, alleged that one of the herdsman raped a 70- year-old widow to coma .
According to the the leader of the protesters, Florence Okoro, the herdsman sneaked into the old widow's house while she was preparing her evening meal and raped her.
Okoro, who added that the hands and legs of the old widow were broken on the process, appealed to the state government and security agencies to come to their aid.
Addressing the women at the Fatilami Abubakar Park, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Chief Augustine Nwankwegu, condemned the raping of the widow and the destruction of the farmlands of Isu people by the herdsmen.
Nwankwegu assured them that the government would take decisive action against the perpetrators of the crimes.
He told them that Governor David Umahi had directed that the culprits be fished out and allowed to face the full weight of the law.
The commissioner explained that Umahi had always emphasized the need for peaceful coexistence and wondered why such wickedness should be meted out to the people.
"Governor has heard this and asked me to look for a way to catch the man(rapist) so that he would be punished accordingly," he said in a statement by Umahi's Chief Press Secretary.

Nwankwegu added: "We have gone to the police and they told us they were on the way to bring him(rapist) to Abakaliki. I'm promising you that by Monday, he would be arraigned in court. You will come and see him because what he has done is wrong. The governor supports live and let's live"
On his part, the Chief of Staff,Government House, Mr.Emmanuel Offor Okorie frowned at the activities of the herdsmen in the area, promising that the right thing would be done to serve as a deterrent to others.
"It's annoying the Fulani herdsmen, instead of taking care of their cattle are touching you. What is expected to be done for you to be happy our governor will do it".

At the end, the Man of God gave her 2,000 US dollars through his wife, Dr. Lizzy Johnson Suleman.

Melaye: Why Buhari Can't Re-present Magu's Name to Senate

Chairman, Senate  Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye has said that following the Senate rejection of the nomination of Mr. Ibrahim Magu as chairman of the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission  (EFCC) on two different occasions, President Muhammadu Buhari cannot validly re-nominate the same candidate again.

Melaye while commenting on the debate in the media about whether Magu can continue to act as EFCC boss in spite of his failure to be confirmed by the Senate or if the President can renominate him, Melaye said there is a provision of the Senate rules which would not allow members consider Magu for the same position again.

Citing Order 131 of the Senate Rules, Melaye said after the rejection of Magu's nomination, his candidacy is considered lapse and therefore advised the President to consider a fresh nominee who is qualified, in terms of experience, integrity, knowledge and temperament to lead the anti-graft agency.

Order 131 of the Senate Rules states that "nominations neither confirmed nor rejected during the session or within 21 working days in the case of Ministerial nominees shall be returned by the clerk to the National Assembly to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and shall not again be made to the Senate by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria".

The Senator who insisted that Magu did not impress anybody including those Senators who would have been sympathetic to his cause during the confirmation hearing in the Senate urged President Buhari to look for a replacement and avoid actions that may result in violation of the laws of the land.

"Those suggesting to the President that after failing to scale the confirmation process twice, the President should leave Magu to be acting are only recommending violation of the law, disrespect for due process and perpetration of illegality. All these will only undermine democracy and constitutionalism in our country.

"Those drafters of the law who made the provision that the Senate should confirm the nomination of the EFCC chairman did not make any mistake and nobody should observe the law in the breach by getting a person into that office who has not been confirmed. Magu is not greater than the law creating EFCC. Magu is not the last messiah. He can't be the only competent person for the job out of 170 million Nigerians. Should he voluntarily decline the appointment today, will EFCC fold up?", the Senator asked.
