'Mother, her three children murdered in an uncompleted church building in Lagos

A  mother and her three children were killed by unknown persons in an uncompleted church building at Agbowa, near Ikorodu in Lagos state in the early hours today.  Someone said they were killed with grinding stones.

Lagos state Commissioner of Police disclosed this at a press conference held at the state police command headquarters today. According to Owoseni, the police was called to the murder scene at about 4:30am.

“The incident happened at about 3 am this morning at Agbowa in Ikorodu. The three murdered children were aged four, five and nine. The mother of the children was also wounded and later died in the hospital’’ he said.
The Commissioner said the police was still investigating the motive behind the killings, promising that the culprits will be apprehended and prosecuted'

'The dead body of a lady has been discovered at the Ihie Bridge through Isi court Amakama in Umuahia south LGA. It was alleged that the lady may have been raped by some hoodlums and killed.

When contacted, the Abia state PPRO Ogbonnaya Geoffrey confirmed that police is aware of the development and that the Commissioner of Police Abia State CP Leye Oyebade is making effort to contact the authorities of community for the processes of removing the corpse.

According to the residents of the area, the body of the dead lady was discovered on Tuesday morning which signaled that the lady was killed on Monday night'

EFCC RAISES ALARM OVER MISTAKEN ALERT.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has urged the general public to be good and patriotic citizens by reporting any money deposited mistakenly into their various accounts.
The Commission stated this when Dr. Aliyu Usman Tilde, an academician, columnist and writer returned a draft of N900, 000.00, (Nine Hundred Thousand Naira Only), to the Gombe Zonal office of the EFCC. The amount was mistakenly paid into his account.
Three months after his account officer could not trace the origin of the strange alert, Dr. Tilde reported the case to the EFCC. Investigation by the EFCC however revealed that the amount belongs to a law firm that was counsel to Federal Ministry of Justice in a case that involved a former staff of Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Investigation further revealed that the Clark of the firm made a mistake in writing Dr. Tilde’s firm account number when submitting bank details to the client’s Ministry. Dr. Tilde raised a draft of the said amount in the name of EFCC EXHIBIT ACCOUNT and brought same to Gombe zonal office. The beneficiary firm has since been contacted.

A Car Battery thieve was caught and burnt yo ashes this morning at Yellow Duke. A resident who reported the incident this morning said that the young man has gone out to steal batteries from parked cars.

However, it has not been confirmed that whether the young man was caught red handed.

This incident will now raise the killing by jungle justice to about 9 in the month of February alone. How a once peaceful State is gradually becoming a hot bed of criminal activities has kept citizens and residents in Calabar at awe. It is more worrying that residents do not have confidence in the police force again.

It is sad. We must not burn criminals. Let us trust in the police force. Let us also use the whistleblowing arrangement of the State government to report criminals and their activities.

Please let us be civil. Report criminals to the police'

A suspected cult member yesterday night, Wednesday 22, killed a 3rd year Education Economic student of the Imo State University, Mr Chidi Opara.

According to Ifeanyi who shared the story,the deceased, 24-year-old Chidi was seen around Bishop Court Area when the yet to be identified cultist confronted him and wanted to snatch his phone,the victims's stiff resistance was said to have angered the alleged cultist who pulled out his gun and shot Chidi dead.The tragic incident happened around 10pm.His corpse has been deposited in a mortuary.

18-yr old Nigerian youth international Kelechi Nwakali was honoured to meet the Prince of Maastricht in Netherlands.

The 18-year-old midfielder who led the Nigeria U17 team to a record fifth Fifa U17 World Cup title in Chile 2015 enjoyed his day with the royal dignitary after their 3-0 win over FC Oss on Monday.

Nwakali who has featured for De Geusselt outfit 16 times since joining them on loan from Arsenal in August, made impact in Ron Elsen's side win before being cautioned in the 83rd minute.
