PoliticsOn Morality- The Yorubas by Stevebuffet(op): 5:35pm On Jun 13, 2023
Recent events have revealed to me the complex dynamics at play within the Yorubas in relation to Nigeria's governance, particularly when it comes to the pursuit of power. It is fascinating how opinions can shift dramatically over time.

During President Buhari's tenure, many Yorubas openly praised him, hailing him as the best leader the country had ever seen. However, it is intriguing to observe that a sudden wave of criticism has emerged as soon as Asiwaju became President, casting him as an ineffective leader. Even individuals who were once ardent supporters, like a senior friend of mine who used to advocate for Buhari, are now actively expressing their discontent on social media.

It seems that some individuals within the Yorubas are solely focused on gaining power, often at the expense of the nation's well-being. They participate in the democratic process, elect leaders who prove to be incompetent, and then hastily flee to foreign lands, leaving behind the consequences of their choices.

Now, we find myself witnessing another prominent figure, Asiwaju, attempting to legitimize his government through a campaign of propaganda. It is important to remember that while propaganda may deceive for a while, ultimately reality prevails. It reminds me of the early days of Buhari's administration when his propagandists claimed that his mere body language, rather than actual policies, were transforming the country. We all know how that turned out. So, to those who continue to propagate falsehoods, let the charade persist. When reality finally dawns, we will be here, ready to face it head-on.

Oh great, then we can relate better now knowing you are in wealth sector. Same here. Fiscal prudence in currency management mix is important. Store of value in semi-liquid state are helpful. Growth engines - Manufacturing, Agriculture, Mining and Retail are clever liquidity control dynamics.
It is true that fiscal prudence in currency management and the selection of growth engines for liquidity can help ensure that the economy is functioning efficiently and effectively, we as citizens have no direct control over that, we can only hold the government to account.

How can you hold an irresponsible government accountable?

Exact motivation to move out. The natural reaction to chaos is to move to locations with less entropy. But before you make such a decision, let me tell you a story.

The black ants and red ants species shared the same jar as their abode. They were living peacefully, until a certain human being shook the jar violently. The black ants thought is was the red ants that cause the discomfort and the red ants thought it was the blacks, so the black ants started biting the red ands and the red ants started biting the black ants and they kept hurting each other.

The Question is "Who shook the jar?". And what is the solution, and alternative to moving abroad?

The Solid Minerals Deposit in Nigeria and Africa as a whole has been detected via satellites scans from space and the global Hedge Funds and Black Ops syndicate have sponsored militia to kill and chase away indigenous people for their illegal mining operations to go undetected.

Those groups seek to make certain areas of Earth to be ungoverned terrorities for their empires to grow. Then come the Fulani Hegemony, the ideology of expansion of a tribe with a 200 yrs plan of invasion and using politics and religion as machinery of war. Their mission is to chase you away from your land and take the lands for their future generations.

And you are running away because you care about your life but you also have no care about the heritage of your future generations.

If you can make foreign currencies while in your country, then why travel? Twitter, Tik tok, Youtube etc have monetized their creators content, there are money in other online hacks, etc so why move to another man's land?

It is even not enough to live in cities within Nigeria, move to your own State and start buying cheap lands from motivated sellers and build your investments in your State capitals and expand your Kingdom for your future generations.

Abroad no dey reign again.
If there is significant economic instability, that is where the nation is headed. Would the economy even prosper? Everybody witnessed how horrible it was the last year. There was no business. Numerous businesses shut down, and even more are doing so this year. I’m in the wealth sector and I know what I’m saying.

TheBillyonaire:
Well, it is a long story, having been in your shoes before as well as seen others in similar shoes. So the basic truth comes from knowing what you want in life - Food, Shelter, Cloths, Land, Comfort, Love and Infrastructure and in that order.

Now, you have Food, Shelter, Cloths and you need Lands, Comfort, Love and Infrastructure. But you have 10m which is the Energy form you need to acquire lands, Comfort, Love and infrastructure can be provided by Government and if Government cant, you end up spending more to build private estate with your roads, electricity and water provided, right? So, the idea of leaving the land of our birth is to enjoy Comfort, Love and Infrastructure in an absence of fear of poverty.

So, the idea of asking for your land is to evoke a certain thought in you. Land is what you will acquire most after you becpome overwhelmingly wealthy, and it is always in your home country that you mostly want to acquire massive lands.

What I am saying, Remember Home. If you can make the foreign currency while in your home country, you have no reason to travel but if you have no knowledge of how to earn the foreign currency while here to create your comfort, gain love and build infrastructure, then know that you will suffer out there and there is a possibility that you will succeed or fail.

Gather more facts and make a good decision but be mindful of what you are actually searching for, and it is money to buy more land and all that comes with lands
Thanks for this.

Despite the fact that I detest traveling abroad, the political unrest and the economic instability in Nigeria has me concerned about our country's future. I'm considering moving out because of this.

Women are used to being pursued but only pursue when she gives you green light. Also, ticking your box is of no value to her, unless you also tick her own boxes of her kind of man.

So one skill you must learn as an adult is to ignore things that you want, but are not good for you. Just as how you don't swallow cubes of sugar because it's sweet, you must ignore women that you want, but are not reciprocating.

Not because it's easy, but because the alternative is worse, it's about choosing the lesser evil. You don't want to be recruited to her friendzone, and once in, nothing good can come out of it.
Thanks for the wise counsel

She lightly said that she had a partner, which many females say to make you feel as though they are the most desired, so it's unclear where she stood. Her behaviors and inactions suggested that she was interested in learning more about me, which I also found interesting.

I'm unable to accomplish it because of my emotional state. I’m naturally inclined to pursue one thing at a time. That holds true for everything and even applies to women.

This viewpoint is humorous. She casually mentioned it, which makes me believe she may not be dating. But she made certain inferences that led me to believe that she was merely attempting to pass like a typical female.

Either way the best thing is NOT to pursue. You ATTRACT not pursue. Once you're sure she knows you're interested, make sure she's aware of any assets you have, then chill and let her do the rest. NEVER make yourself cheap or simp because of any woman or she'll lose respect for you - and women NEED to respect their man!
This is a wise counsel!

I considered doing this, like giving her quite a bit of space, but I believed that would hinder the development of genuine attraction and connection because we hardly know one another.

I enjoy being secretive about my assets and how I go about my business. Though I would prefer for people to know less about my worth.
RomanceTo Pursue Or Not To Pursue? by Stevebuffet(op): 3:03pm On Apr 14, 2023
Hello, Romancelanders. I could need some wise counsel on this.

Here's is it: I met a girl and somehow I had the impression that we were both interested in getting to know each other better. We swapped contact information and immediately began chatting. At first, everything went smoothly, and I felt the talks were nice and natural. We were still conversing, and it was great, despite the fact that she had casually disclosed to me that she was in a relationship. But after a few days, the talks became distorted because it may take several hours for responses. A message was sent explaining this because she was so busy with work and other things.

The ironic part is that despite my busy schedule and the fact that I used to snub people, I am aware that we always find time to reply to those we seem to care about.

It was just about getting to know her and seeing if we fit each other's ideals. My point is that I kind of like her right now because she checks off a few of my boxes: beautiful, smart, and tall. My current conflict is whether to keep trying to make the connection or to just let it go and "form busy" although this totally goes against my current values. If I have more free time, I don't hesitate to answer messages. Or does she think I'm bothering her??

I'm currently in a pickle, and I believe adult minds may weigh in and offer their nature opinions so that I can make a wiser decision.

Any suggestions or advice are welcome.

Thanks.
PoliticsRe: GRV Doesn't Have To Speak Yoruba To Govern Lagos by Stevebuffet: 4:05pm On Mar 11, 2023

In this case GRV is based on he "Will" perform note the word "will" means assumption we are nto even sure he will deliver because it is in the realms of wishful thinking...
Sanwo olu "is " performing not the keyword "is" a guarantee, a present continuos tense. So you see the topic of tribalism here arise because igbo sacrifice compentecy and feel yorubas are fools and try to pretend about it.. The only reason GRV is preferred to sanwo olu is because he has an igbo mother and sanwo olu does not , that is tribalism and yet you people are accusing yorubas of playing tribal politics... Out people are the most tribalist set of people in Nigeria and the problem is we refuse to look ourselves in the mirror and do sober reflection.. How can you sacrifice a working governor for trial and error and expect to convince a sane human that is not because of tribalism? I want to ask you if you have a business that you built in 4 years and it now successfully and you getting daily profits, I I come to you and tell you to close that business down and come state a new one on the premise of it will be successful even though I haven't done the business before, will you agree to close your existing business?
If you hypocritical answer yes then we all this insult our people receive daily why not close down their business in lagos and go elsewhere to start new with the hope it will succeed afterall the believe in let's try another business like the believe in jettison a working governor for another person in a trial and error method..
Have you listened to GRV discuss the plans for Lagos that he has? They are very doable, smart, and simple. Everything starts with a good plan. Try to hear him out without preconceptions so that you may decide for yourself. One thing I've seen about leaders is that they fade away after their first term, as Sanwolu demonstrated by skipping all of the discussions. A chance to share your scorecard with your supporters and your plans for the following term, but he believed he had already achieved kingship. Every time, our leaders need to be held responsible. We frequently praise the western world's virtues, but this is not because its leaders are free from corruption or that their citizen consistently hold them accountable.

Sanwolu is not perfect, not to mention his flaws. What unique endeavor has Sanwolu begun and finished in his four years?

What has he done to improve the awful traffic situation? What has he done to combat the Omo-Nile and Agbero threat? What is he doing regarding the Lekki-Epe Expressway? Or is it because of the Ikorodu and Alimosho neglect or the state of some of the public schools?

Name one significant project that Sanwolu began and finished in four years?

Sanwolu has only ever engaged in tokenism; as evidence, consider the Blue-rail project, which was inaugurated despite the fact that it is now not in use.

You’re right about Obaseki, he doesn’t know how to speak Bini, but nobody dared used that to campaign against it in Benin. How does speaking one’s language translate to good governance??

These guys are just looking for trivial issues to demarket GRV. If you’ve done well as a Governor, you show your scorecard, instead of these campaign of calumny.

i believe rhodes is an opportunist, he wants to take advantage of the obedient movement, well which is politically not bad but just that he has never been tested. secondly, i will agree with you on jando , though i have not heard him live i have read his interviews. all I am saying is if sanwo is voted out, we should be very careful not to vote in a misfit who will destroy everything.

then usually when the opposition is this fragmented and everyone sees a loophole and rushes towards it, they usually end up giving the person in power the edge to win again.
I respectfully disagree since the GRV person has been reliable. Before this obedient thing, check him out on YouTube. Instead of the fictitious plans we are used to, he has clear-cut, simple, and concrete plans for Lagos.
PoliticsRe: Ask Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV) Any Question About His Lagos Governorship Bid by Stevebuffet: 4:26pm On Mar 09, 2023
In my opinion, GRV is a man with such humility that he will make a great leader. I had assumed he had just begun to get momentum as a result of PO, so when I saw that he had actually been conducting loads of interviews long before, I was absolutely floored. He exudes an air of sincerity, has clear beliefs, and cares deeply about others. Even with his extremely hectic schedule, you can tell that he had to join Nairaland just to answer questions and receive people's opinions. This kind of leader, one who seeks to understand the thoughts of his people and what they think of him in general, is perhaps the kind of leader that we all want. Not one that takes instruction from a ‘Big god’

He has made some unfortunate and controversial statements in the past I believe, but you would concur with me that the human mind changes. I can recall that I used to be quite tribalistic, but after a few years, I now believe I am the most detribalized person on the earth. Only an ignorant mentality is impervious to change.

The only thing about him that really impressed me was his intellectual prowess and his concept for a new Lagos. This person is compassionate, and to top it off, he will be accountable to the people rather than any godfather.

And I sincerely hope he doesn't deactivate his account after winning because real governance is about partnership with the people- the people in power does not know it all, not what we see in Nigeria, where one individual would be in the executive branch and give orders without consulting the populace. if individuals are the focus of the initiatives and policies. Why not actively involve the populace? I believe he made a good first impression by creating a Nairaland account, and I hope he keeps it up so that Lagosians like myself may provide him with feedback. I'm relieved to learn that this man is incredibly responsive and that he manages his own social media accounts. I'm not exactly a young person, but I believe GRV has what it takes to advance Lagos State. He has my whole trust!

GRV you have my vote!
