em3r4ld: Eke40seven , pompido, weirdarkhitekt, williamso, schwartz, stevemims, ogagaejay and the rest have done a whole lotta justice with this thread. I just confirmed my admission 4 masters in intl business & mgt. (Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences). No Uniassist stress nor sending of docs + Nipost/DHL wahala anyways, scanned all and sent, luckily enough was offered a position. Waiting for the hard copy to hit 9ja dis wk. But I have a dilemma. I currently have admissions for Masters in Luxembourg and Canada as well. That of Lux is €200 per session while that of Canada is $3-4k per year. Now, dis German admission is tuition free. Considering 1. the ease of visa processing & higher rate of securing Visa, 2. better integration into the system 3. Standard of education 4. Better welfare after grad as omo Naija
Which will the house advice me to follow? Fly go Canada bro.... Germany nor bad trust me. But if you have your way enter Canny BTW, Econs in Lux, while Rural dev in Canada. All taught in English language.
Advice needed from the ancestors. |

Obiwannn: Oga Mi I dey oh. Walai boys need to make plans oh. This deutschland de get as e be. So me Wan start to dey plan the next point where I go plot my graph go. What do you mean by waiting till after Msc? Ain't that the best thing to do?! I mean I stand to lose nothing na... And I could still work with my German degree there as the good thing about a German degree is that it is recognised all over the world. But if there's a way to do it without finishing my Msc first please let me know. Also does this thread contain information about the skilled workers program too...? Or it just deals with student visa issues? E get as e be my brother but God dey with us... Some schools in aussie do accept credit transfers from what i have been gathering and reading on school's website but finishing the prog here is also a good idea as you pointed out that the cert is acceptable all over the world, so its a real deal. I think there is another thread for the skilled workers program. |

Obiwannn: I have heard a lot of good news from very many different sources, that I can no longer say it is a mere rumour, that the ground is very green on this side.
Now for someone who is already out of the country doing an Engineering MSc in Germany, and wishing to finally settle either here, in the US or in Australia, I can only but ask if the ground is truly green on this side of the diaspora, and what might be the best way to pursue immigration that would finally lead to settling down here- a Bachelors' PG, a Masters' PG, a PhD or the skilled-workers visa program?
And Yes, I am gonna go read the whole thread, in fact as someone who likes paying attention to detail, I plan on consuming the whole 9 threads and noting down tips and pitfalls in my jotter, but I just need someone to give me a little hint, that would serve as a push or source of inspiration if I may put it that way so I can start planning for life after MSc. My oga sef won port go the greener land... It's truely greener from what i've gathered. If you wanna wait till after Msc, then any of the routes should be good. The gurus go talk more sha, i left here for a long time, but i am following bumper to bumper now.. How that side bros? |

takeastep: I understand you clearly. Why I'm asking is because the debit alert only wrote CHARGES. No details on whether it is commission, VAT, offshore or combination of all. Is that how yours came or it was explicit.
If you've used Union bank for your form A, you may also help confirm if that's all to be debited or one should expect more debit alerts. It was explicit brother, the charges were outlined accordingly. Though, the charges for Ecobank are higher in terms of the commission and offshore but they are just damn effective. Infact, i also paid my accommodation deposit through this process. |

takeastep: Alright.
Asking because a fella got debit alert for the main sum and after like 6 hours same day got another alert for CHARGES (about #11,800). Was wondering if that CHARGES include the VAT, commission and other stuff. Union bank. like i said, the main rxchange rate equivalence was deducted a day after my form was accepted on the platform. A week after charges for commission, VAT, offshore and telex came on the same day and the next morning i got the DB alert. |

FormA update: i used Ecobank for my funding and i can bodly say they are effective. When profsamurai came up with the ecobank idea, i went to one of the branches in my state and the person in-charge said my account must have been active for 6 months. I sent a mail to the head office and i was told to just open an acct with them, the next morning i went to the bank to show the man my convo with the head office. He gave me acct opening forms, within two days my acct was maintained in order to initiate the transfer. My form was declined twice cus of the amount, the letter i provided had 8040 euro on it so i had to make sure i didnt fill in more than the said figure. It was accepted on a wednesday and i got a debit alert the next day, the debit alert for commission, VAT and offshore charges came after a week plus the telex copy fee. The commission percentage for Ecobank is one percent and the exchange rate for that day was 221. I hope this helps. |

After all said and done i did get my confirmation from db despite funding with 8040. Yeah! I was worried but God is just too perfect to be questioned by man, He perfected what He started. The very day the funding was done by the bank here i got their debit alert for commission and VAT then the next day db sent the confirmation.... More update to come on the FormA process. |

Goodmorning beautiful people! Yeah, i was @ Ecobank(a branch office) this morning, inquired about the FormA thing, just like ProfSamurai pointed out yesterday it is doable but but your account must have been active for the past 4months or there about. Goodnews for those who have accounts with them. I hope this helps someone. |

I was at Nkpor-Agu branch a suburb of Onitsha today. The Customer Care Rep informed me it is applicable to all their branches. So I suggest you walk into any ecobank near you and make your own enquiry too. Okay.. Thanks |

ProfSamurai: I went to ecobank today. After my enquiry, I found out that Form A transfer is possible with them - the Euro rate for today is 222.84 , while the dollar rate is 199.74.
I didn't transfer. I went for other business. Hope this helps .... ..
