Hi everyone,

2 offers from RMIT and Federation. Which of them would you suggest I go for? Also, how easy is it to switch or change between both schools?

Thanks.

They'll get back to you! However, be ready to prove your residency in the country.
Mukah1234:

Sounds interesting! I currently use Bamboo. Tried signing up on Trading 212 but got error message “country not supported”, I changed my country of residence to another country but I got another response that new account opening on Trading 212 has been paused.

Is there a way to go around this?

I know they accept Nigerians in the diaspora, but I can't say for those in naija. Just give it a shot.

@emmasoft why does it take so long to redeem funds from VGIF? It's been more than 5 days, even though the mail had stated within 5 days.

Apologies for the delay.
However, what is written on the mail is correct. Redemption is at most 5 working days except if there is any issue with a particular transaction.
Kindly contact your account officer or call this toll free line 08004683786368.

You can as well talk to me please so that I can have more details.

Please, allow the treasury bill thread to thrive, stop bringing this unrelated topics here.

You and your paymasters can never tell Nigerians what to talk about.

The leaders will steal our common wealth, allow terrorists to kill our farmers, formulate and implement daft economic policies, carry soldiers to kill ARMLESS protesters, rig elections, courts of co ordinate jurisdiction will be dishing out the same judgments, kidnappers are offered "amnesty and forgiveness " Gumi will be threatening Nigerians etc, and NOBODY AMONGST THEM IS MADE TO FACE THE LAW.

You're here telling us not to talk about it because it's embarrassing when the people whom we pay millions every month are not doing their job.

Oga, respect yourself and this humble thread, carry your advice comot for here.

Oga, I have CIF as well, it was good until the beginning of May. Of course, I was reinvesting my interests.

Could you please clarify what you mean by dividends in this context, are the interests also the same as dividends for CIF? I would like to know this as I have instructed them to move the funds to Money Market Fund.
emmanuelewumi:

They will pay you based on the net asset when you sell.

I sold 70% of my Coral income Fund, a fixed-income fund managed by FSDH Asset Management.

I bought at N2900 and sold at N3335., this happened within 18 months and I also got dividends within the period
Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by stevemims(m): 1:48pm On Jun 19, 2021
You are right! I did one with FBNQuest last year. The FIF was issued in units, the capital appreciation was quite okay for 3-4 months before it started dropping. Although to prevent my capital, I pulled out my capital after 6 months and still had some change on It (it wasn't a large amount, was just testing waters).

NB: Just as Pa Emma had stated, VGIF and that of Stanbic are straightforward, and I agree with you that they are not in units and capital is guaranteed.
Lazyyouth4u:

SFS also has one. They are currently paying around 9%.

The thing about the ones that issue unique is that the returns are based on valuation. Not what is paid to the investors as the guaranteed income funds have. Do the maths on what you receive in dividends and you will see that it nowhereere near the returns they report.

The returns stated in their fact sheet is what you get after they carry out the valuation of their assets and divide a by several shares. Currently, fixed income valuations are high because of low-interestest rates. As soon as interest rates rise, the yields in those funds will drop big time.

Inlow-interestest environment, It is not wise to invest a long term in those bond funds that issue units.

Absolutely!

1958 was 63 years ago and $30k was a whole lot of money at that time. I bet you that house is now worth several millions of dollars. Plus he has done several renovations and modernizations on that house over the years. That house today is not the same house he bought 63 years ago o.

Of course bro! As for me, contentment is as important as satisfaction. Although, we can't take away the fact that as humans we all have taste and preference, at the end of the day, what matters is developing a model that works for you as a person.

Btw, I read somewhere that Elon is planning to sell his last home smiley ... I guess that works for him.

jedisco:

To me, this doesn't necessarily make him more prudent or a better investor than another rich chap who lives in a more expensive house...

In life, there's the concept of satisfaction... People will spend money on things they consider important...be it art, houses, charity, religion e.t.c... What's good is having a sustainable balance...
Also, everyone will look at things differently as they have different things they consider important.

Some people who earn less live in bigger houses that they're proud of and worked all their lives to buy. Also, some would give up on a bigger house so they can go on regular exquisite holidays with family or perhaps donate to a charity or religious body... it's all about choice...

Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by stevemims(m): 4:20pm On Jun 11, 2021
Is the capital preserved like VGIF?
Dsticks47:

As of now, you will get about sixty-four at the end of the year.

But the beauty of The Abacus money market fund is that the ROI is not fixed, unlike VGIF that has a fixed return.

We believe the rate will be more than this in the coming weeks. So as it stands now the probability of you getting more than that at the end of the year is High.

So, one thing we can't take away from Emma and other active members here- their analyses and ideas based on practical experiences are top-notch. That said, I agree with Lazyyouth on being guided with how we paint this Crypt0 narrative, I.e., by just putting money and wait for it to rise without understanding the intricacies that shape the market. However, this investment through blockchain hasn't been unpacked enough. Tobex and Jedisco/jidesco, would it be okay to quote you on a dead thread for more info? Thanks.

Na wa o! Who to trust for this landlord-tenant palava? Nigerians! We be extraordinary people mehn
QuinModah:
I fired him ASAP, his inompetence stinks to high heaven.

How do you meet such tenant?
Arbitration?
What's was the ruling of this arbitration?
Is arbitration a court?

Such tenant will never pay, from experience.

Avoid the following tenants
- Contractors (They keep expecting millions from contracts that never happened, telling you how they know Sanwo-Olu and how his yet to pay for the road in Ikorodu or supplies they made to Alausa that are yet to be paid for)

- Business men (don't even make the mistake at all, before he says, "I am a bus....man", just tell him straight up, you don't give out your houses to business men, they are never truthful, mess up the house, give false information, bring more than the specified number of occupants the house can occupy)

- Pastors (it's a constant battle with them, telling church members that you are the reason for his lack of success, and when it time to pay, he tell you stories, that God will do a miracle. I would have mentioned churches but I'll let it pass)

- Lawyers (On no account should you lease to them)

- Artists ( You will spend more than the money you collected for damages and rent to put the house to a good taste, my property I lease to Asa in Surulere, I spent 950k to put the apartment in order before the current occupant could stay there)

In addition, ensure whoever you rent out the house to, their wives MUST be working. I learnt that here.
