Vaccine Procurement: Stop Advertising Your Ignorance Over What You Don't Understand - APC Slams Peter Obi

The attention of APC Mandate Defenders has been drawn to the uninformed remarks made by the former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi concerning the Federal Government's plan to procure vaccines for distribution across the country.

The group asserted that Mr. Obi has formed the habit of making himself a cheap hero through peddling of falsehoods, outright misinformation and blame game even when he is alleged to have some skeletons in his cupboards.

In a statement released to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday by the group's national publicity secretary, Mr. Ifeanyi Emeka, the group said that Mr. Obi is not the right person to advise the Federal Governemnt over what to do concerning vaccine procurements and distribution because as Governor for eight years, he contributed to the sorrowful state of the primary healthcare centres in Anambra State as a result of his unconstitutional refusal to conduct Local Government Elections throughout his tenure.

"Saying, if Mr. Obi had conducted local government elections and allowed elected council chairmen to use their Federal Allocations for developments, all the primary healthcare centres in the 21 Local Government Areas of his state which are in the 'residual list' of the Constitution and whose workers have the immediate responsibility of distributing vaccines to the people at the grassroots level; the cost of vaccine procurements and distribution would have been reduced to the bearest minimum."

But because Mr. Obi and others in his category failed to do the needful, the task of vaccine procurement, distribution and development of critical infrastructures at the local government levels now falls on the neck of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency which is under the control of the Federal Government.

So, the Federal Government is not only fighting to procure vaccines and inoculate the population, but it is also fighting to procure cold chains, train personnel and other things that falls under the purview of states and local governments in the country.

Besides, vaccine procurement is not really the issue, but distribution and storage as well as building capacity are the things that matters.

For Instance, apart from Pfizer vaccines which requires altra-modern cold chains of minus 70-80 degree Celsius which is even colder than the winter, the Federal Government will still use some part of the estimated N400 billion for the procurement and deployment of cold chains to about 8,812 Wards in the 774 Local Government Areas across the country where the vaccines would be stored before distribution. This is because only few of the over 10, 000 Primary Health Care Centers in the country have functional cold chains and other facilities.

So, next time, before Mr. Obi goes to any national television to advertise his ignorance on any government plan in his characteristic way of playing to the gallery and seeking cheap popularity among unsuspecting members of the public, he should endevour to consider many factors which his inability to correct some of them when he was in office contributed to the sorrowful state of the primary healthcare centres across the country.

Wike has not paid pensioners there gratuity and pension arrears since 2014 till date, pensioneers has been protesting and crying up and down, many has even died some are in the hospital and can't pay bills Cus of there medical condition and Wike could blind his eyes and mind and prefer to give a northern state a whopping amount of 500million which is half a billion to a state that receives allocations like him. It's just a shame.

So he can generously give sokoto state a whopping 500million, that is half a billion naira. A state that has a governor and still recieves money from the federal government but yet Gov. Wike can't pay gratuity and pension arrears to retires in his state that retired since 2014 till date. It's just stupidity. Our leaders are stupid and foolish.

I'm married with 2 kids, a boy, and a girl but I trust my wife that is why I have never thought of anything like a DNA test, I didn't do the blood group of my kids to know if they carried my blood group because I know my wife will never bring another man's kids for me. My wife do tell me what's happening at her office, how some of her colleagues are dating their bosses in the office.

When I saw DNA trending on Twitter, I clicked on it where I read the sad news of Mr. Tunde Thomas who died after he discovered that the two kids he thought he was their biological father belong to his Wife's boss, Mr. Adam Nuru of FCMB Bank.

I couldn't sleep that night, I concluded that the next for me is to do the DNA test for my two kids to confirm that I'm their biological father.

Immediately my wife left Home today, thank God schools have closed till further notice, I took my kids to our family hospital to run a DNA test, and the Doctor told me the results will be ready tomorrow.

When my wife arrived this evening, I told her that, the DNA results of our kids will be ready tomorrow.

My wife told me that immediately I bring the results home tomorrow and the results confirmed that I'm their biological father, she will leave my house immediately.

Please, Should I tell her I'm just joking or wait for the DNA result?

APOLOGIES FOR MISUNDERSTANDING GOVERNOR WIKE.

I’ve been doing some thinking, reviews of the way our beloved Governor Wike operates. I blamed him for some actions before but now I understand. I never understood him. I was wrong in my criticism all along.

Governor Wike motivates, but not the usual way you read in books. He’s practical, and challenges you to rise to the top or lose it all.

Ever seen the trend ‘hustle o, make ...’? The negatives that can be created by your inability to obey the above are endless.

It’s usually in pidgin. Examples:
‘hustle o, make your plan no dey dependent on gratuity’.
‘Hustle o, make you no go do 50 biometric screenings just for money wey dem no go still pay’.

So much positive.
So much motivation.
But the list isn’t done yet.

Governor Wike motivates you to think big enough to live in the city, because if you can’t, and end up living in the rural areas, you’re automatically a second-class citizen.

Nothing for you.

Governor Wike’s idea of society is on the elitist end. Let’s take a roll call:

1- Buys cars for wealthy judges, but poor retirees are denied their gratuity.

2- Markets where the poor can buy from have remained shut but malls are open.

3 - Assembly quarters for lawmakers is to be pulled down and rebuilt but the secretariat where regular workers go is rotting away.

4- Medical facilities in rural areas are either in near states of abandonment or just painted without drugs while the bigger facilities thrive.

5- There are cries of bad roads in rural areas but our governor is building 4 flyovers on one road, and adding more granite to already good roads in the city.

What else should motivate you than the actions of our dear governor? But I know a lot of you still won’t understand.

Wike keep lavishing federal and state jugdes and his political associates while HE STILL OWES RIVERS STATE PENSIONEERS THERE PENSION ARREARS AND GRATUITY. This pensioners work for 35years and for over 7 years now those who retired since 2012 till date has not been paid there pension arrears and gratuity. Is this not wickedness! If its not then what is it?

Wike did well. Why would it be only those two hotels that would flout the order. The announcement for the lock down and the consequences of flouting it was issued 3 days before the date. And the owner of the hotel feels that we are lawless like Lagos State. And even going to the extra mile of shooting the task force who came to warn them. And they feel they can go away with. Now one of the task force member has lost his life as a result of the gun shot wound and assault. The owners of the hotel should be arrested. Meanwhile the cases we have now are as a result of the virus transmission gotten in a hotel that infected over more than 17 people. And you say Gov. Wike should fold his hands and watch and extend a carrot approach to the defaulters. My dear Nigerians has learnt to eat the carrot and run, now is time to use iron hand approach.

Wike please help this people. They worked for 35 years and is this how they should be treated? There is no empathy in this world again.

Retired civil servants in Rivers State have taken to the streets of Port Harcourt to protest unpaid three years gratuity and pension owed them.The protesters had placards with inscriptions like; “If you are Mr Project, Know that Retired civic servants are major project”, “Mr Project Pay us our Pension because our people are homeless and our children are out of school”, “We are dying.”

The protesters, who were chanting anti government songs, demanded for the payment of their three years gratuity and pension, just as they asked for the removal of contributory pension law.The leader of the protesters, Lucky Atti, at the office of the Rivers State Head of Service demanded the abrogation of the Contributory Pension Law, which he claimed was the cause of the hardship of pensioners.

Atti said majority of pensioners had been suffering from different forms of terminal ailment in the past three years.

“It is not a curse to be a retired civil servant in Rivers State. It not a crime. Many of us have served for as much as 33years and here we are with nothing.“We can no longer fend for our families. The Governor should do something about this before we all die of hunger and sicknesses.

“We have written to Governor Nyesom Wike on several occasions. We have even met with stakeholders, including the religious leaders, to help us talk to him but all to no avail. We have been on this for the past 3years,” he said.

Addressing the pensioners, Rivers State Head of Service, Rufus Godwins blamed the past administration of former Governor Rotimi Amaechi for the backlog of pension allowances.

According to Godwins, “These allowances are owed by the past administration. The past administration did not remit the deduction of pensions to the pensioners’ agents. But I will take your case to the Governor”.

Today been the 2th of August 2018, a cross section of the Rivers state pensioners that have not been paid there gratuity and pension for 3 years now held there meeting at the state secretariat infront of the museum just behind Block C at 11:00am this morning. As the pensioners strolled into the Rivers state secretariat they were seen with sad faces and angry looks as they bitterly discuss about the neglect of the state government to the plight of the pensioners in Rivers state.
It is on record that only the 2013 retirees are receiving regular pension. There are three categories of pensioners. Those who retired in the year 2013 and above are receiving regular pensions, the second category are those retirees who retired in the year 2014 that are paid only monthly pension but no gratuity and the third category are those who retired from August 2015 till date. These category are have not been paid gratuity nor pension, they are just totally neglected by the state governor Gov. Nyesom Wike.
The state of this pensioners are helpless, many have suffered and are still suffering hunger, there children are thrown out of school, many are terribly sick and don't have money for Medicare, thousands have died. They have worked for 35 years of their lives and are only demanding that Gov. Nyensom Wike should show compassion and release them from the bondage that Former Gov. Rotimi Ameachi placed them in and pay them there pension and gratuity, so that they would be able to perticipate in the forth coming election and vote a leader who will liberate them and listen to there plight.

Interview those in Rivers state can tell you how heartless this Gov. Wike is. He spends money about but has refused to pay retirees there gratuity and pension since 2015 till date leaving many pensioneers dying and laying curses upon him. This is the hight of wickedness. What kind of a man is this. For good three years pensioners have been suffering and this idiot of a governor is there with is family eating daily and larvishing rivers money and some useless youth will open there filty mouth to support him.those supporting him are supporting wickedness. The thunder that will fire him is doing press up.

Not only in waste management have you not done well but also you have neglected the civil servants and the retired civil servants. For over 3 years now those who retired since 2015 to date has not been paid there gratuity and pension. How can a man owe those who has given there service for the state for over 30 years and after retiring you ignore them and leave them to die while you receive your own salary. Pay retired civil servants there gratuity and pension or there curses will have effect to your generations .

Who cares if you are thrown in solitary confinement. When you bought all those sports car in your garage and tour u.s and Canada and other countries who heard your voice. Now that your pocket had been blocked you cry for foul. Cry on Dino.

Buhari thinks we are fools while using human lives to gamble for more money to just get reelected. This is so so sick and ludicrous. Buhari should be placed in a mental institution and those who will vote him should be sent to a psychiatrist.

It was reported that the Director of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Nnamdi Okore Affia, said that the federal government does not have any plan to increase the monthly allowance of corps members.
“To be honest with you there is no plan to increase your monthly allowance; all you have heard is nothing but rumours.
If there is such plan I must be the first person to know but as far as I am concerned there is no official plan to increase your allowance; even if the plan is on the pipeline, it has not reach my level.
