craziebone: When is the delivery of the thunders coming in? That's what i am most interested in. How about the submarine we heard about the other time and whose prototype was handed to PEJ the other time by a chinese? weapons aquisitions is not like buying puff puff in the market. as long as it's a government to government transaction, we will have to be patient because a lot of conditions will need to be sorted and agreed on in terms of payment among other things. so, patience my man. |

wow!!! there is truly a low morale in tge military as predicted by our ignorant wise saffers.
DAMATURU – Boko Haram Insurgents, Weekend, attacked security formations in Damagum, the headquarters of Fune Local Government Area of Yobe state. Damagum is 73 kilometres away from Damaturu the Yobe state capital. A resident, Mallam Abubakar Ali Damagum who escaped the attacks told our Correspondent that the insurgents who came to the town around 6pm on Friday engaged security forces.
The resident added that, “the insurgents attacked the military unit command in Damagum, the Divisional Police station of the area, as well as, the police barracks and the official resident of the Local Government chairman.” Residents said the security operatives on ground stood firm in repelling the attack as the insurgents who came in large numbers using Hilux Vehicles and motorcycles later beat a retreat chanting war songs. Confirming the incident, the chairman of Fune local government council, Mr Digma Gana disclosed that no life was lost either on the side of the security forces, the residents or the insurgents. He also reveals that the local government education department (LGED) and the office of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) were set ablaze by the hoodlums. The chairman also said two Toyota Hilux Vehicles belonging to the Council Area as well as the old Government Lodge and the Guest House of the Emir of Fune were burnt during the assault. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by stillchris: 5:26pm On Dec 19, 2014 |
patches689: yes, some USAF pilots do clock that, because they are the best in the world. We dont need to so we wont waste money on doing so. Fact is, USAF policy states: 50 hours per year makes you combat ready
Fact is the other half of french combat pilots fly less hours than we do
We can afford to maintain all gripen, if we need to. But at this point in time our defense requirements do need need Gripen pilots, we need Oryx pilots, so that is where funding is directed.
However, if the time comes that we need the Gripen fleet, it is ready and waiting, with a pool of Hawk LIFT pilots ready for conversion. We will not be caught with our pants down, like our dear brothers from east africa, whom only now, after years of war have found a platform that suits their needs, and yet still have to wait months (if not years) to have it operational.
Prepare for war in peace - 'tis the south african way. aside from the lies you are trying to convince yourself with, from your own comment you have helped us prove that: SAAF truly lacks pilots for its gripen and rely on hawk pilots to magically convert to fighter pilots. prepare for war in peace by starving your airforce of well trained fighter pilots? you are getting desperate my man |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by stillchris: 5:03pm On Dec 19, 2014 |
patches689: fact of the matter is, USAF - the best in the world- considers pilots with 50 hours per year to be combat ready
fact of the matter is that half of french pilots only get 40 hours on their main platforms and are combat ready
yet you insult us about averaging 60 hours per year? fact is USAF pilots still clock 120 hours per year. fact is half of French pilots that are combat ready still fly 180 hours per year which is still way out of your league because half of those who fly the 180 hours is almost 10 times your 9 pilots. you insulted yourselves by buying what you can't afford to maintain. #3rdWorldAirForce |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by stillchris: 4:53pm On Dec 19, 2014 |
patches689: Nope - USAF considers pilots combat ready with just 50 hours per year Half of french pilots only fly 40 hours per year on their main platforms SAAF excellence has been confirmed by our joint exercises with other Gripen users where we impressed them man.. you've lied so much you can't help it. USAF "considers" does not mean they already fly 50 hours. are you sure you are okay? half of french pilots still fly 180 hours per year and US pilots still fly 120. how is that even compared to the pathetic 1h 30mins per month of SAAF. do you have shame at all |

mzilakazi: SA has more money than Nigeria does. SA has a budget that is 3Xbigger than is Nigeria worth. The defence of SA is just only compromised for now because the government of SA is focusing somewhere else and that is to build mass infrastructure. okay. so that is why your airforce can't afford aviation fuel. nice excuse bro . |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by stillchris: 4:33pm On Dec 19, 2014 |
patches689: weird then how the USAF only gives its fighter pilots 50 hours per year before deployment http://www.dtic.mil/get-tr-doc/pdf?AD=ADA430320
While half of french fighter pilots fly 40 hours per year in their top line fighters and the rest in jet trainers http://www.strategypage.com/dls/articles/Fighter-Pilots-Doomed-By-Poverty-1-16-2014.asp
We average 60 hours per year per pilot in the Gripen, and no one knows how many in the Hawk bloody liar. US gives it's fighters 120 hours while the half of french fighter pilots still fly 180 hours and 140 for their jet trainers. according to your link. citations provided by you. and 60 hours per year will only produce unprofessional and ill trained fighter pilots especially for the gripen. so yeah. as proved by you we can confirm that SAAF fighter pilots are ill trained and unprofessional. thank you. case closed. #3rdWorldAirForce did you think Nigerians are dull like your people on this thread? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by stillchris: 4:10pm On Dec 19, 2014 |
AugustineAgain: Trained pilot is NOT = Qualified pilot.
SAAF has NO SINGLE qualified Gripen pilot, flight-global report says each pilot flies ONLY 33 hours a whole year....far far lower than about 150 hours required to qualify.
SAAF Gripen jet pilots are NOT qualified to go to war, NOT qualified to challenge NAF F-7 jets or incoming JF-17 Thunder . i think our F7 will rape their gripen because it will be between the pilots and not the jets. i doubt they'll even be able to fuel the jets fir combat . |

jl115: F-7NI vs Cheetah C: You decide. both oudated. Nigeria is about changing it's fleet to more powerful and easily maintainable (including fueling) fighters, while SAAF is still stuck with an outdated gripen it can't fly nor afford to fuel . |

Patchesagain: Undersupplied men who are overwhelemed by the enemy and forced to flea should not be executed.
Is archaic and it destroys moral, even the highly diciplined german army and highly ideological red army of ww2 learnt that executing men will not stop them retreating patches, when will you grow up and learn not to always ignorantly twist things to suite your lies and fabricatiins on this thread? Missing movement and mutiny in any military in the world (maybe except SA) is a criminal act that carries severe penalty. just incase you have comprehension problem, Missing Movement is another term used to describe when members of the armed forces fail to arrive at the appointed time to deploy (or "move out" with their assigned unit, ship, or aircraft. In the United States Armed Forces, this is a violation of the Article 87 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). The offense is similar to absence without leave but may draw more severe punishment.[3]en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desertion Those men where not under supplied because the rest of the unit still advanced and the operation was successful according to their commanders statement during the start of the trial before journalists were barred from covering the trial because of some details that are supposed to be private. does that sound like an under supplied unit to you? please post a link of any soldier that was punished for retreating. these saffers no get sense at allllllll. . |

Now nigeria didn't just kill their soldiers. They also killed what's left of the military's morale. Nigerian military has been executing traitors and saboteurs since it's inception. it's a law that guides discipline mumu. you sound like you are new to the internet. |

Nigerian Police medal ceremony
The Nigerian Police force get issued up-graded AK-74's, while the army..... , only recently up-graded from older model AKM's and AK-74's. MOPOL. this police unit used to have a reputation back then. that's why they can cope well in conflict zones. i think it's either their training was scaled down so they won't compete with the army, or their quantity affected the quality. |
