Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by stillchris: 1:38pm On Jan 13, 2015 |
@naya.. the only reason your army still has an upper hand against boko haram is because itvis strictly a Nigerian problem. that way, some soldiers who's tribe dominate(kanuri) dominate this group will still have some sympathy for boko haram due to tribal affiliation and then you also consider the religious dimensions.
there were instances where some soldiers refused to fight because they felt they were fighting their brothers. instances like these causes most of our military operations to be sabotaged by moles in the same army.
as much as we have had setbacks due to sabotage, we have had many successes and thousands of boko haram members have been killed by the Nigerian military. so you killed 143 is not fascinating to us at all.
but please, don't use it to make comparisons in terms of conventional warfare capabilities. we showed you how well we can take you to the cleaners when we invaded bakassi and held a better part of it for years till the UN forced us to hand it over.
in a Nigeria vs cameroon conventional war, you'd be surprised how quickly your B.I.R will be withdrawing from their bases before we even move to occupy it. it's no joke ma lady. Nigerian military is still far more powerful conventionally when it comes to it.
if we are to judge miilitaries by how quick they defeated insurgencies in a guerilla warefare (which is by far the most difficult in history) then we would not have Britain, US, India, Russia top the chart as the strongest militaries in the world.
i like you. you seem smarter than these dumb saffers. i look forward to an objective argument as regards iur military comparisons. |

Your leaders know they can du whatever they want. No nigerian will rise up. how does it change the fact that you will experience the same fate for years to come? President Jacob Zuma has blamed apartheid as the root cause of South Africa’s electricity woes, noting that the system was built to funnel power to white homes. “The problem is that energy was structured racially to serve a particular race, not the majority,” . You need principles, you have none.
if getting bailed out jail as a bargain for dropping your freedom movement is a principle to be adored, the i must agree
You need something to be courageous for, you have none.
we are not weaklings like you. Nigerians are brave people. while you were struggling for identity, we were actually doing the saving of other african nations. including yours.
You need precedents from generations gone by. You have none.

DieVluit: Power supply drops to 2,880MW January 8, 2015 by ‘Femi Asu 19 Comments
Power supply from the national grid to households and businesses in the country tumbled below 3,000 megawatts on Tuesday, almost a month after it dropped to 2,954.52MW before rebounding.
Power generation fell to 2,948.45MW on Tuesday, while 2,880.31MW was sent out, according to data obtained from the Presidential Task Force on Power on Wednesday.
The downturn in power generation was attributed to the sabotage of the Trans Forcados Pipeline on Sunday, January 4, 2015.
Power generation on the day fell to 3,415.21MW, while 3,314.99MW was sent out, according to the Federal Ministry of Power.
The quantum of electricity available for distribution to various classes of consumers as of December 29, 2014 was 4,112.29MW out of the 4,389.7MW generated, but this fell to 3,415.21MW on Sunday, according to the ministry.
The Special Adviser on Gas to the Minister of Power, Mr. Frank Edozie, in a telephone interview with our correspondent, said, “The reason power supply is down is that there is not enough gas and the reason there is not enough gas is because of sabotage of gas pipelines.
“The pipelines have been regularly vandalised in the last few months. The Trans Forcados Pipeline has been down. The last incident occurred on Sunday. The previous one was last Wednesday. The pipeline was fixed and as it was about to be commissioned, it was vandalised again at various points.”
The country achieved the highest peak generation of 4,517.6 MW of electricity on December 23, 2012.
Respondents in the latest governance poll conducted by NOIPolls for the month of December 2014 rated President Goodluck Jonathan poorly in terms of power supply.
http://www.punchng.com/business/business-economy/power-supply-drops-to-2880mw/ you should be more concerned with how you'll be able to afford a generator cos you'll be needing it too. dummy THE people of South Africa are learning to live in the dark. Their beleaguered power utility, Eskom, is unable to meet electricity demand and in November reintroduced a tortuous schedule of rolling blackouts known as “load shedding”. South Africans now check electricity reports that read like weather forecasts: “There is a medium probability of load shedding today and tomorrow, with a higher probability on Thursday and Friday,” said a recent Eskom tweet. Newspapers print survival tips and “load shedder recipes” for food you can prepare without electricity. And there are bleak jokes aplenty. “Q: What did South Africa use before candles? A: Electricity.” The power cuts are hurting an already stagnant economy, estimated to have expanded by just 1.4% in 2014. Both big industry and small businesses are feeling the pinch. Meanwhile Eskom has warned that the blackouts could drag on for months, perhaps even years, as it struggles with a maintenance backlog and a barrage of technical problems at its ageing power stations. There are delays in bringing new capacity online, particularly at Medupi, a heralded new coal- fired plant whose completion has been endlessly postponed.www.economist.com/news/middle-east-and-africa/21637396-rolling-power-cuts-are-fraying-tempers-unplugged |

Dude, we have sooooo many heroes, you could leave Mandela out and we would still give you a long list of heroes that movies and books and songs will continue to be written about.
Nigeria has nothing. Not even a fraudulent hero. Nigerians are not weaklings like south africans. we don't need heroes but had great men who without appetite for media worship and blood of the innocent fought against tyrants who ruled during the military era. great men who did't seek permission from the west or bargain the freedom if Nigerians for cheap western acolades.(Fela, ken saro wiwa, Abiola etc) those men fell and more are still rising to carry on the struggle. that is Nigerians for you. strong people who don't wait for a hero made by westerners to scam them. so yes.. Nigeria has no heroes but great men who also took part in freeing your so called heroes from their apartheid dungeons. |

agaugust: We Nigerians don't idolize human beings or any mortal man, they live they die, where is Mandela today?
After all his labor on earth with all the praise of people, millions of blacks in South Africa still live wasted lives, poverty, HIV, murder, r.ape, insecurity, joblessness, dependence on government free food and housing.....Mandela did NOT inspire over 20 million black South Africans to rise up, seek good education, work hard and get paid wages for their sweat, live peacefully, value the life of their neighbor and not murder him or rob him, value the bodies of women in the nation and not r.ape them...why has Mandela not inspired these millions of people?
You Southies turn Mandela into a god and almost worship a mortal man, sorry we don't do that in Nigeria.
We have more than one hero but we don't idolize and worship mortal men. All we do is appreciate them, value them, thank them.
Zik of Africa fought for independence of many African nations .
Awolowo collected our lands, industry, economy by force from the British and gave it to Nigerians.
Obasanjo led our fight against Apartheid in South Africa and took on British Prime Minister Thatcher head to head.
Obasanjo personally led Nigerian army to save Congo Kinshasa in war time.
Obasanjo ordered Nigerian army to stop genocide and mass r.ape of blacks in Dafur Sudan.
Babangida sent Nigerian army to stop tribal genocide and mutilation/cutting off arms of living people in Liberia and Sierra Leone and end years of war.
The Europeans and Americans like Mandela and hype his name because he did not collect all the lands, minerals, cash, real estate, and economic resources from the South African whites and give it to blacks as Mugabe did, so Mandela is hero, Mugabe is bad man.
Did you see Asians hype Mandela? No. They saw nothing special in a man fighting to free his own people at home, NOT the people of another nation.
What has Mandela done for Africa as a whole?
Nothing !
Mandela is a local hero overhyped by the whites for not seeking revenge for the atrocities committed by whites on millions of blacks, your ancestors gold is still in the hands of white Oppenheimer family today in South Africa, they robbed your fathers are still robbing you their children !
Mandela did NOT nationalize any British assets and give it to black entrepreneurs.
Awolowo as finance minister did it in Nigeria and Britain made him look villain for ever and made sure he never became Nigeria's president for changing British petroleum to African petroleum and seizing all other British assets by force, giving them to black Nigerians.
Hype and overhype Mandela and idolize and worship him as much as you want, South Africa is a nation that have never seen a half-hero before in their Apartheid wasted and bastardized life times, so when you see one, you all go gaga !
========== perfecto. mandela was a coward who preferred media worship than total freedom of the same people he fought for. go to SA blogs and online media and read comments from the so called rainbow nation and you'll ask yourself how peoole can live under such pretence. blacks in SA are stilk fighting for freedom both economically and socially. mandela don scam dem wella . |
