No problem my brother, that is how any reasonable people should react to JW teaching.
Ah! Na so.

Me i entertain them when i have the time and just enjoy the way their faces change and fall as i ask questions.

Exactly. The anger he is feeling is the same anger every JW that wakes up feels. I can relate. 😀😀😀
Hmm! The fact that what they are taught is manifestly stupid yet they go on peddling it like people under remote control, is what amazes me. How can someone stay brainwashed for long?

Your religious text can be used to justify any pov or perspective you want by interpreting whichever way u deem fit and its not nonsense?!
Thats why you are the fool here for every normal person knows that every statement and text can be twisted and intepreted in any evil or good way depending on the intepreter.

Which is why every one is thought to interprete in Good way aka bonafide way (unless evil is clear) and not evil ways which is how you devils and atheists always view a thing because they are full of evil.

It's interesting how we've mostly all come to the conclusion that slavery and ownership of another human is immoral now a days, inspite of the Quran and Bible being permissive of it.
You just saw it up here that the bible never supported slavery,

if a slave escapes do not return him. Deuteronomy 23:15

Leviticus 25:17 "Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God:"

Exodus 23:9 "Thou shalt not oppress a stranger:

Exodus 20:21 "Thou shalt neither vex a stranger nor oppress him:

Exodus 20:22 "ye shall not afflict ...a fatherless child".

Exodus 23:2 "Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil:"

Exodus 23:6 "Thou shalt not wrest the judgement of thy poor in his cause"

Yet, you pretended as if you did not see it. See how prove you anti God people are evil pretencious folks?

IMAliyu:
I
And things are slightly better for it, compared to the needless human suffering because of slavery in the past.
Things better bawo! So this is not slavery abi?

For anyone to reach state of perfection, that means he is all knowing.
But is there anyone like that, that is all knowing?
It's not possible.
See rubbish talk when already the bible cllearly shows that Noah, Daniel and Job scored."Perfect".

And Jesus had not come in their days!
Christianity Etc › Re: Can Anyone Reach The State Of Perfection In The Sight Of God? by StillDtruth: 7:59pm On Jun 21, 2024
Steep:
Depends on your definition of perfection, if it is moral perfection then no one can be perfect except Jesus but if it is the perfection in one's walk in faith in God years.

Abraham, Noah etc were not perfect morally but were perfect in their walk with God.
You are perverting God's Word

Who cares about his defiinition?
Is it the op or you who is judging?

God's Judgment is clear and He Judged Noah, Daniel and Job, "perfect"!

So, stop changing the bible like jw do.
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Is Belief/Faith The Highest Virtue? by StillDtruth: 7:43pm On Jun 21, 2024
DeusXmachina:
However.
We've already established, that belief is not a matter of simple choice. Which makes that ask still unreasonable.
Wrong! We agreed and found that belief is established on deliberation and conviction whether the deliberator thinks well and validly or not!

DeusXmachina:
People don't choose to not believe in your bible and it's claims because they're convinced it's true, but secretly hate it like you tend to alluded to.
They either belong to another religion with their own holy book, they believe is from God that makes a different set of claims and you're in the wrong to them. Or see it as another mythic religious book that makes claim that can't be substantiated.

This is a different topic tho, which will have to venture into what makes your own holy book and interpretation, the correct and true one the creator intended.
And what evidence you have that can show this beyond a reasonable doubt.
As you said "this is a different topic" as you yourself have already agreed that people can base their beliefs whether their thinkings were valid, and logical and True or not!
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Is Belief/Faith The Highest Virtue? by StillDtruth:
DeusXmachina:
So your rational is that "Your God has made his will known and that will is the Bible, and part of that will is belief in him and following the commandments in the Bible. Meaning the requirements for salvation is free and equally available to everyone."
Therefore belief, being your God's biggest requirement for salvation, is perfectly reasonable..."
First, whether you accept God or not, what is, is that we all see that The Law all over world is on the doing the good and the right and the punushment/condemnation of the evil and the wrong. Eg there is no place in the world where stealing, lying, adultery, murder is allowed!

Which He Who we call God has clearly expressed by our natural living and in the bible.

And since people rather chose to do the evil rather than the good in violation of The Law, pretending as if they do not know The Law, God therefore, Spelt out The Law and Wrote them out, so that no man should pretend that they did not know The Law and be in Hs Trouble when He Comes to inforce The Law!

Then in the bible, in addition to these Laws, gives us examples of those who kept The Laws and those who disregarded it, with a couple of commentaries made on these issues and Laws!

And that is all! Leaving you to consider these things one way or the other.

But i good thinking and common sense has always taught us that "prevention is the best medicine" You obey The Law of not drinking and driving because it is better than destroying your hard earned vehicle to buy another one. So that Law saved your life, and your property and from being guilty of mankilling should your drunkeness kill anither person or persons.

So doth, The Commandment save a person who chooses to heed it.

But like the drunken driver, he can choose to follow the belief of "nothing dey happen, i dey drink drive steady".

But to obey or disobey, is a matter of his choice.
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Is Belief/Faith The Highest Virtue? by StillDtruth:
DeusXmachina:
Depends on the individual.
Do you remember in 2014 during the ebola outbreak, when millions of Nigerians were convinced to bathe with salt in one night, and in 2020 when a number of people believed 5G signal was the cause of covid?"
See, you used the word "were convinced" in your speech.

What you fail to consider is that there is almost no action which is not carried out based on consideration. even if some are not well thought out properly assesed. However, before a persom acts on a proposal, he first did some thinkings (deliberations) on it.

And this is where i.wanted to point out that you were not aware that deliberation means "the act of thinking about (or discussing) something and deciding carefully or carelessly"

DeusXmachina:
But I'll have to ask what type of deliberation?
From the examples I gave, these were people who were mislead, and believed something because they heard it from someone they may have trusted and also lacked the knowledge or tools to question it further.
That is why God, our Creator, gave us the gift that we naturally think (deliberate) about a matter before we act, for deliberation helps us discover lies and errors and flaws in any proposal.

DeusXmachina:
Most people's extent of deliberation of their religion is their parents believe in it and raised them in it, and parents usually know better.
Most people's deliberation are based on their natural limits never leanring from their experience that they do not know how to think well as proven by their several confessions
saying " i no think am well or i no think am like dat".

It has only changed form and pattern from physical chains and bracelets to invisible legal chains.

And where before they physically forced you now they ask you to permit them to in slave you.

Perfection is a concept that has fascinated humanity for centuries. From the pursuit of personal excellence to the striving for spiritual purity, the idea of perfection occupies a significant place in human thought. But when it comes to the sight of God, can anyone truly reach a state of perfection? This question has been the subject of much theological debate and contemplation, with various interpretations offered by scholars, theologians, and believers. Let's explore this topic, drawing insights from the Bible to understand what it means to be perfect in the eyes of God.

It's just good that you're thinking and asking questions about these things. Just some people just go ahead and accept wholeheartedly the religion they were born into.

My friend, keep on asking the "what if " questions?

What if Christianity is the right religion and others are wrong?

What if it is Buddhism that is right and others are wrong and you're practicing the wrong religion?...

Reminds me of this post I read the other day: https://christianpure.com/learn/spirituality-vs-christianity-path-suits-you/

With that said, no one truly knows what happens after you die, that's what faith is about. I think you should live as if God exists because that will lead you to living a better life
Life and living has shown that creations do not die until their Creators kills them. And the bible and life shows that what we call death is "sleep mode"

So, we know what happens after doing what we call death!

Imagine a world without judgment. Nations with the weakest justice systems are the most afflicted and impoverished.

Exactly. Leave God to do the judging.
There's a reason why He is God. He is not our 'brother', but rather a King and Father.

Concerning our brothers and judgements, the Scriptures also go on to say, “Judge not, for you do not know the motive/causative factors behind people's actions.” (Paraphrased)
Hence, forgive, because you don't understand

Matthew 18: 21-22 21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. Can you imagine this conversation between Peter and Jesus? My question
How many times did Adam and Eve eat Apple in the garden of Eden before they were sent packing? I am just curious.
Is forgiveness not asked for?

Did you see Adam ask for it?

Secondly, this is a Law of man to man, but common sense no tell you say you suppose fear God well well make you no risk am?

We even need to forgive man because we sef they offend other people including God wey no.talk. And this is where the case of the servant who did not forgive the debt of a servant is instructive.

And forgivemess is a gift, given/refueed at the will and pleasure/displeasure of the forgivor.

But, if God chooses not to forgive you, you are finished after all, IT IS HIS RIGHTS!
