PoliticsRe: Another Fuel Subsidy Protest In Ibadan? by stiyke(m): 2:13pm On Jan 04, 2012
It will just like the minimum wage strike.
At first they threatened demostration and protest, now its nation wide strike starting 11th, by the time its getting to 11th January, they will say each state should hold their own strike (just like minimum wage). Eventually it will boil down to each local gov on their own, finally back to government negotiation table and eventually nothing all man for himself. Is it not better to start being productive now instead of wasting this energy and time and achieve nadahuh

This strike will hurt the poor masses more than it hurts federal government if it goes as they plan.

@op
while you hammer on, can you draw you mind to who he is referring to as victimizing the northhuh It could be the same Northern elders or even the political rival dominating the northern politics aka PDP. but as it is,always the focus is one connecting such people to Boko haram by your kind.
I didnt think i connected anyone to BH. Southerners/christians being killed in the north did little to marginalise the north from your post dont you think that BH should be targetting the northern elite that put them in this state, instead of cutting down innocent christians.
PoliticsGovernment Is Underestimating Boko Haram's Support-says Cpc National Secretary! by stiyke(op): 3:30pm On Dec 31, 2011
In a stunning admission, Buba Galadima, the National Secretary of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and right hand man to the partty's presidential candidate in the April general elections, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, has told the BBC that Boko Haram, the Islamic militant group responsible for a string of deadly attacks including the Christmad day bombings, is popular amongst the populace.

The full story can be found HERE

The interview is too explosive and has been reproduced verbatim below;

'Reward Boko Haram'

Opposition parties and in particular those in the north, such as the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), say the government is underestimating the amount of support Boko Haram has among the population.

“Why didn't the president crush the Niger Deltans? That's a questions a lot of people in this part of the country are asking”

Bubu Galadima Congress for Progressive Change CPC national secretary Bubu Galadima said many people in the north felt marginalized and excluded from wealth and opportunity.

"The people are sympathetic to certain principles and ideas," he told the BBC. "If people feel they are being denied anything or an injustice is being meted out to them then there is a likelihood that they will take the law into their own hands and help themselves."

Mr Galadima, who is from near Damaturu, where last week's attack took place, raised the case of the former militants from the oil-rich Niger Delta who were given generous financial packages from the government to keep them out of trouble.

"Why didn't the president crush the Niger Deltans? That's a questions a lot of people in this part of the country are asking," he said.

"Instead they are being rewarded for the economic destruction they brought Nigeria. Why can't the same be true for Boko Haram?"

Thanks Trac for your time and effort. I must say it was educating

Right now i drive a mercedes 190 (1995?), it came with a turbo charged 6 cylinder engine. I love the car, it has been serving me for 4yrs now, my only issue with it is that when i use it intensely through the day, by evening the temperature would be close to 100 degrees. I was asked to change the radiator but i want to be sure changing it would keep the temperature low.

So i want a newer model mercedes as a second car, i dont like e class cause it looks big. I want something sleek, like c clk. I cant afford recent c or clk models, even if i can afford it, i wouldnt buy it. Thanks for your educative reply.

Please what do you mean by HWA?? It will help me understand your post better.
How do i (a novice) know an AMG apart from the emblem on its body, do they all have the engineer's name on its engine?

Thanks

God does not understand Hausa or any other language but ARABIC. So praying or talking to God or Allah in any other language but Arabic is a waste of time.
You are right! a man made god can understand one language.

But the Almighty God understands all languages, even ur innermost thoughts, if not why is He God??

Foreign AffairsObama Puts Same-sex Rights At The Centre Of US Foreign Policy by stiyke(op): 8:38pm On Dec 06, 2011
Put man-lover rights at centre of US foreign policy – Obama

WASHINGTON (AFP) – President Barack Obama on Tuesday ordered all government agencies, including those handing out aid, to put man-lover, lady-loving-lady, bisexual and transgender rights at the center of US foreign policy.

“I am deeply concerned by the violence and discrimination targeting lady-loving-lady, man-lover, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons around the world,” Obama said in an official memorandum.

The president condemned laws that criminalize LGBT citizens, beatings of people who join peaceful LGBT pride celebrations, or the killings of men, women, and children over their perceived intimate orientation.

“By this memorandum I am directing all agencies engaged abroad to ensure that US diplomacy and foreign assistance promote and protect the human rights of LGBT persons,” Obama said.

The White House issued the memorandum ahead of a speech at the United Nations offices in Geneva later Tuesday on man-lover rights by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Obama directed government agencies to fight against the criminalization of LGBT activity abroad and to combat discrimination, homophobia, and intolerance.

He required the departments of State and Homeland Security to ensure LGBT asylum seekers are properly protected and noted the US government could resettle highly vulnerable people who need urgent protection.

The president directed agencies involved with foreign aid and development to engage governments and civil society groups abroad to “build respect for the human rights of LGBT persons.”

He also directed swift and meaningful action to respond to human rights abuses against LGBT people perpetrated by foreign governments and required all agencies to produce an annual report on progress towards all the initiatives.

In a speech to the United Nations General Assembly in September, Obama warned that “no country should deny people their rights because of who they love, which is why we must stand up for the rights of man-loving-men and lady-loving-ladies everywhere.”

Obama has made several political moves to satisfy man-lover rights campaigners, a vocal element of the Democratic Party base vote, including ending the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Policy” that barred man-loving-men serving openly in the military.

Campaigners are also pressuring the president to back man-lover marriage, but Obama has said only that his position on the issue is “evolving.”

If there is no way of testing to asertain if one is man-lover or lady-loving-lady, Then Nigerians wishing to live permanently in US can claim man-lover or lady-loving-lady and by Word of Obama be granted asylum because of legislature underway here to clamp down on themhuh
Just thinking aloud!

The only computer in my domain running winblows is my wife's , women love flashy things.

PoliticsRe: Russian Military Chief: All-out Nuclear War Risks Have Grown by stiyke(m): 12:47pm On Nov 18, 2011
Russia is feeling its military influence caving in, so its trying to rely on nuclear deterent. If the regimes in Syria and Iran are to fall, Russia will be under pressure to assert its might, which is fading, so its not clinging to its nuclear arsenal and IBMs. I wonder how they let the US force grow so big and widespread, i feel the main issue that undid Russia was corruption. As they threaten with their Nukes, they should always remember that they have no effective defense for same Nukes from other countries.
PoliticsRe: hh by stiyke(m): 5:49pm On Nov 09, 2011
Why did it take this US organisation so long to say this. And why did Obama congratulate GEJ on winning the election??

The TRUTH is that like you and I, GEJ has every right to be the president of this nation. Comming to think of it, aside Boko Haram, i dont think GEJ is doing bad, especially compared to the past ones, i think he is doing very OK.
The problem is that GEJ is trying to transform Nigerian Gov. to have a human face and deal humanely with issues, while detractors are trying to do the most inhumane act to delegit his government.

At least i for once am seeing a FG that shows more care for its citizens, with out much discrimination.
GEJ will succeed! The sooner you get it into your head the better.

PoliticsNairaland True Reflection Of Nigeria? by stiyke(op): 8:30pm On Oct 09, 2011
I want to know if am the only one observing that Niaraland even though trying to project the image as a new generation of Nigerian minds devoid of the ills of the Nigerian society, it has only deepened the engraving of the ills of the nigerian society. Correct me if am wrong

1. an average Nairalander is an ethnic bigot. (A reflection of one of the bane of this Country Nigeria)
2. an average Nairalander does not believe in Nigeria or its government (Same feeling in the streets of Nigeria)
3. Nairaland website as a model Nigerian society has refused to evolve it has remained the same even when other similar forum websites have addopted new and better looking interfaces and features eg. facebook, twitter etc, Nairaland is still same old same old for over 9yrs. (Just like its Papa Nigeria limited or no infrastructure development since the '70s) - I bet if the website is as old as nigeria, it will not have changed an atom nor modernised at all.
4. Nairaland and its visitors wax strong and are unruly and uncontrolable because there is no form of accountability, it strives to be truely anonymous thereby allowing users to engage in character assasination and verbal assault/terrorism. (Just like its papa Nigeria, its criminals are anonymous even the politicians are anonymous and there is no effort to bring in accountability).
5. An average Nairalander is a coward, all talk no action (Same as an average Nigerian)

Which will change for the better first, Nairaland (proposed new generation) or Nigeria (the current generation)??
if the above comparison is right, could you add lists you think up??

NB - I hope to get no insults but knowing Nairaland = Nigeria in entirety, i have braced for it
ComputersRe: Atiku's University Responsible For 55% Total Internet Traffic In Nigeria! by stiyke(m): 11:54am On Oct 05, 2011
if a school of 2000 can is generating 55% of internet traffic, pls what are the students doing? Na only internet them come use? A serious school like that with tasking accademic work will leave students little room to use internet. Oh i get it, each student has a microprocessor, motherboard and WLAN connected to his brain so all their actions and thought use internet. Even at that, it cant beat Lagos alone.

False stories when will they stop??
