COMPAQ: It's not just about what people make, but understanding the nature of economics, economies of scale, global trade, population, capital flows, productivity, technology, exchange rate dynamics, efficiency among others, that all have an impact in how a nation grows and develops.
Everything is not just about govt should provide this or that. The world economy is too interconnected now for any government to ignore the global economy and its place in it. you are good at bringing all the needed parameters but you forgot the money to be saved from these government initiative will eventually end in private pockets but is it so in China if such initiatives are carried out? |

JohnOkolo: Oga learn to overcome challenges what the Governor said is right and something everyone with brains will understand. Your problem is you must have allowed your present circumstances of lack to define you. Understand everything have a value chain and stop asking for improvements if you don't want to do the work. You sound like a failure from your words. Even if you have a Car, House or whatever is like your circumstances define you at all point and you are nothing at all juncture. if you earn #500000 per month remember someone else earn #30000 per month. It wasn't his or her making that is what he/her employer can pay.. I will challenge you, with this increase how many companies in Lagos will put #10000 on the salary of each worker in order to Cushing that effect of the fuel increase? |

post=93552426: This is not the time to increase fuel price in our darling nation at all.
Not with all that is going on around the world, pandemic et al, When people are finding it difficult to survive.
This is the same reason we voted out the party of thieves and criminals.
This is not the change we voted for.
The same way we sane, honest and hardworking Nigerians praised this government when they reduced fuel price sometimes ago, we should make sure we put our voice together to castigate and talk against this.
That is the voice the government will listen to, Not the voice of children of hate, frustration and perdition that have never seen any good thing in our country, That all they do is to wail continously in life. They even wailed when the price was reduced. They have been wailing since PMB won the election, even before swearing in! They are not wailing for the common man like (Omotola) and all other sane and honest people are doing, but they are wailing in pain that the corrupt money being shared to them by the losers they support is not forthcoming anymore. They have been so used to corruption, they see it as a way of life. That is what we stand against.
Sane, honest and hardworking Nigerians, Let us come together to Say no to this fuel increase, We need no increament at this time and please ignore enemies of the country that want the evil politicians they voted for to remain in power together.
This is not the change we voted for. Something must be done about this NOW! God bless Nigeria.
If you are a genuine Nigerian against this increase like us, Signify and let us take it from here, We have the Voice and the Power as citizens. And if you are an enemy of the nation, aka, children of hate and perdition, aka swines, and dare quote this post to wail, May the suffering of the masses go to your heads and the heads of your looters you support a 100 folds. May you be strike down with the hatred for our country that has consumed you from day one. Quote, let us know who will be struck rn!

kikero: Okay, buy pencils at 59 naira, and sell it at 38 naira a piece since Nigerians are poor.
Your pencil business would be broke in mobths you are not just be realistic here... No businessmen or businesswomen will lose in a typical Nigerian market.. All they do is how to make maxima gain.. Imagine a bag of local rice that was sold #10000 to #12000 when foreign rice was still being imported.. It means they were making profit at that price.. But the moment borders were close and the local rice became the only available commodity, prices went up. What does that tells you? It means the profit is now multiple. All those suggestion you are making about petrol will go same way.. It is the Draculas in business |

kikero: The problem is, we are not earning enough to keep on paying for subsides
We are.a poor country. Oil price has not been favourable to us for the past.six years.
So, unless you want Buhari or his successors to keep.om taking loans, or we take money from other sectors...oii subsidy has to go
Nigeria is a poor country. Our budget is 26 billion dollars. We need it to be somewhere around 100. Billion dollars
And no, I'm not justifying bad governance or defending Buhari. Or praising anyone. I am staying reality, and God knows I hate the reality and am angry about it many of you always believe prices will fall but forgetting we have a very wicked businessmen and businesswomen in Nigeria... the network providers have been around for over a decade tell me is data cheap? Even DISCOS dont want to give people meters because they want to continue in the old way of estimation and continue to cheat consumers... The government agencies are so weak to check all these abnormalities... Is it the Nigeria you hope in ? |

kikero: Inverted hammer, while I agree with your thesis, the fact is, if GEJ had been allowed to increase fuel prices from 65 naira to 140 naira in 2012, we would have been reaping the fruits of more refineries, more investment and more jobs by now.
Instead, Nigerians protests led to GEJ partly emptying our reserves to keep fuel at 97 then 87 naira.
Buhari is doing the same thing.
The truth is, subsidy or underrecovery has to go. In exchange for high prices, we get functional refineries, and with the added bit of privatizing NNPC, we get more investment and jobs, and eventually low petrol prices
I don't like GEJ, but on subsidy removal, he was right. APC is doing something partially that should have been done totally so to speak in 2012. how much do you earn? #500000? I may believe so. Then you can survive this hardship.. But remember someone earns #30000 with a family... Can you preach this to that person and expect a smiling face? |
