PoliticsRe: Lagos State May Lose $25 Million HiTV Investment? by stormm: 11:49am On Jul 28, 2010
@ labalaba

I share your sentiments. But can an investment gone awry be called a scam? The same noise was made about the state's investment in Econet and reports have it that Lagos State made over N15B on that investment. Being based in Lagos, one is happy about the multiplier effects of such investments.

But was the investment well managed? Was Lagos State represented on the board? How come the board was not able to do anything until they lost their 'selling point' ? How come Toyin Subair operated like a czar such that they couldn't pay up the balance of the EPL fees until they lost it?

Why blame the banks if you have the money or are they relying on loans from these banks which procedure of course takes a lot of paperwork? And must they wait until the last minute before approaching the banks?

Labalaba, will love to know if you have more info, because if it is tax payers money, then we need to know.
Christianity EtcAnother One: Redeemed Pastor Arrested Over N8m Fraud by stormm(op): 8:05am On Jul 28, 2010
A 40-year old pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Kunle Odeyemi David and his accomplice, Ganiyu Babatunde a.k.a. Iyalla, 52, have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for fraudulently withdrawing N8 million from the bank account of a Lagos-based hotelier, Alhaji Mudashiru Olanrewaju Odetunde.

According to police sources, David, who resides at 3, Transformer Street, Amikanle, Alagbado, Lagos and Babatunde, who lives at 8, Oduduwa Street, Surulere, Lagos, have been allegedly withdrawing money from accounts of bank customers with the connivance of a female cashier. Their victim, Alhaji Odetunde, the owner of Moonshine Motel, Lagos told P.M.NEWS: “ The suspects withdrew money from my account with the assistance of a female cashier. My bank is near Nigerian Breweries, Iganmu, Lagos.
“ Can you imagine that when the pastor and his comrade-in-crime removed N8 million from my account, I went to report at the bank’s headquarters. Immediately I stepped out, I got another alert that N2 million was removed again from my account.
“I dashed back to the bank to complain again and in a twinkle of an eye, I got a transaction alert which read your account has been credited with N2,000,000 by returned 062317520 cheque.
“But for the assistance of police detectives attached to Area ‘A’ command, Lion Building, Lagos Island, they would not have been arrested.
“I am disappointed with the way the bank officials handled the matter. I feel it is no longer safe to keep money in the bank. They keep deceiving me over my N8 million.
“The bank is yet to pay me my money. I work extremely hard to get money.”
Pastor David said: “I am a pastor of Redeemed Church. It is true we withdrew money from Alhaji Odetunde’s account. I got 30 per cent of the money. The cheque was paid into my account and we withdrew it at Gbagada branch, Lagos. I deal in oil and gas.” Babantunde said: “The offence has been committed. The account number we used was 06231753 at the Ibadan branch. The money was paid into Pastor’s account with the help of a female cashier.”
It was also gathered that the police at the Area ‘A’ Command have impounded a Toyota Infinity SUV marked DM11EKY and a black Picanto Car with registration number MN 141 KJA from Pastor David and Babatunde respectively.
Police sources told P.M.NEWS that the suspects will be charged to court soon

This brings me to the story of a man who was alleged to have sold a generator at Sheraton Hotels and gave 10% to Christ Embassy, what became of the money?
The man(an accounts clerk) actually stole money in millions and gave the whole thing to CE in additionn to buying generators for some parishes of the church. The story is CE washed their hands off the dude they claimed the church did NOT send him to steal or embezzle. Sad indeed .

Christianity EtcRe: Nigerian Pastor's N28bn Assets Frozen By Uk Court by stormm: 10:35am On Jul 21, 2010
The veil of deceitful smiles and smooth talks by Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State is now being lifted. The public is beginning to see through a murky situation of unprecedented looting of the State’s fund totaling some 26 billion naira at the Intercontinental Bank.

According to emerging details leaked on Monday, Mr. Olusegun Rahman Mimiko, who a little over a year ago came into office through a judicial victory awarded against his former boss and later arch-rival, ex-Governor Olusegun Agagu, the disappearance of ₦26b from the coiffeurs of the sunshine state has been traced to a deal involving fugitive former boss of Intercontinental Bank, Mr. Erastus Akingbola.

Sources said that the Ondo missing billions was part of the reason, Mimiko, who had to issue an edict to be addressed as Mr. Governor, made sure Erastus Akingbola was co-opted into the embezzling scheme early in the life of the administration by being appointed as the Pro-Chancellor of the state-owned university, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko. Once Akingbola had allegedly being hurriedly pocketed, it became very smooth to empty the 26 billion naira account that state had with Intercontinental Bank.

Some of the looted funds are suspected to have surfaced in some western countries with the just concluded so-called business visit of Mimiko in the company of his Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Akinyele Ogundipe. They were said to have visited the United States and United Kingdom and Ireland. Some unidentified individuals were said to have met with the Governor alongside Akingbola during one of the meetings.

A prominent Redeemed Christian Church prosperity preacher in Washington D.C. is also being named as one of those providing divine decoy for hiding the looted funds of Ondo State.

Comandclem latest: An official of Comandclem Nigeria Ltd, Pastor Abimbola Salami, has again appealed to all Comandclem Patentees to be patient. He made the appeal on Ogun State radio station, 'Gateway Radio', on Saturday, july 10, 2010. Pastor Salami assured all Comandclem Patentees that all promises made by the Company would be fulfilled. He said this while commenting on the 30th Anniversary of the invention of a special anti corrosive paint by the Comandclem boss, Prof. Clement Uwemedimo, used by Mobil and other oil companies worldwide. Pastor Salami declared: 'Very soon, joy will be our portion.' My question now is Should Prof. Uwemedimo the inventor and boss of Comandclem be given National Award by President Goodluck this year for this 30-year-old invention?
Fraud.

Pardon Mrs Adedibu, dem never read baba's will and as he be so, nothing fit reach the woman. So for all her efforts, IBB must drop something.
