Mudley313:Hmm. . . your point being that people whose kids have died are not good parents . . see how ridiculous you soundSecondly you have to understand that if ur lookin at it from a christains perspective, death is not actually a bad thing, its just a transition to another world " a better place" in fact, so all ur silly arguments are mute. Mudley313:well God is not a human being so ur point about i do not need another human being whats that all about, we are his vessels, just as the computer is ur vessel, simpleAnd as for ur last rants, you did not address the statement If I want to address there are 2 ways to address you Firstly- time and context. The traditions of the early days etc etc and the fact that u should have asked me, do you think the bible should be interpreted literally or by the message it intends to reveal ![]() What strikes me about atheists is that you forget that the bible is literature and thus has to be interpreted both contextually and relative to the time within which it was set forth. You will now say shakespeare's 46th sonnet, Mine eye and heart are at a mortal war How to divide the conquest of thy sight; Mine eye my heart thy picture's sight would bar, My heart mine eye the freedom of that right. My heart doth plead that thou in him dost lie -- A closet never pierced with crystal eyes -- But the defendant doth that plea deny And says in him thy fair appearance lies. To 'cide this title is impanneled A quest of thoughts, all tenants to the heart, And by their verdict is determined The clear eye's moiety and the dear heart's part: As thus; mine eye's due is thy outward part, And my heart's right thy inward love of heart. , is about his eyes and his heart engaging in a brutal one on one face-off Abeg my guy. . . I believe ur intelligent, act like it!!! ![]() or u think the message of Noah's ark is the effects of prolonged precipitation and its limiting effects on bouyant wood ![]() |

jamace Na u write dictionary abi?. . . nonesense. . . better go and find correct dictionary and know what religion really is In fact according to these guys here http://www.thefreedictionary.com/religion . . atheism could also considered a religion. . . or even vegeterianism. . so whats the big deal with the nomenclature . . . it has nothing to do with anything. . . |
hahahah . . . this is funny. okay, let me give u an analogy that paints what you have just done. Imagine I say: If ever something crazy comes over me and I kill people, then I must be sent to jail You come out to say Streetwize said: "I kill people". I think this should enlighten u on ur predicament. |
@ jagunlabi Jagunlabi, ur throwin urself into a hopeless vortex of confusion. Are you saying the person who makes a rule is neccessarily under the rule. Are you saying that when a father makes it a le that his son not cross the road without holdin the hand of an adult, that he, the father must then hold the hands of another adult when he is crossin the road. It is very simple, God made morality for our own good, he is the objective power that can do whatever it wants without it being "wrong" as a father can cross the road because he can rightly observe what is going on in his surroundings. . . shikena And please I believe, you have the right to air your view, and I would like to hear them too. . . theres no need for this to be some kind of insular thread, that looks at things from only one, convenient point of view. |
As for your picture up there. . . all I can say is The words of Mudley313. . . How come its always texts on a computer screen doing the talkin. . . ![]() |
Mudley313:Oh so because a father can just carry his four year old son and run across the road means he should now be doin that one and not teach the boy how to walk across by holdin his hand and leadin him across Your reasoning is unbelievably flawed. When did God give public speeches to ancient desert people oh abeg, |
Mudley313:God is a father, and whenever I speak of him I like using the "father" analogy. Its very simple, a good father would watch you play football and enjoy yourself. It is not his duty to stop you from falling down during all that rough play, it is his duty to pick you up dust your clothes off, and dress your wounds. God has given us free will, and thus we can do whatever we want, even the guy that is committing genocide( he will have his reward yes), but he still has his freewill. Because without free will, we will just be robots, not human beings, you would not think for yoursel, you wont have sex till ur married, which im sure if it happens ull be d first ones to wanna complain. . . . but guess what you wouldnt be able to. God works through believers, or is it not the holy spirit( the third member of the God-head) that is said to be with all believers. And whether you like it or not, he also watches over you, not as much as he'll want to because you have to let him in. But it still remains that ur his creation and he wants the best for you, thus every person who talks to you about God is God working innit ![]() But as for what u want him to do. . . tampering with free-will and all that. . . Plus them no dey make liger bobo yii. . If na new animal wey u want see go discovery, those guys bad gannnnn!! |
n-guage:Ur rite and this is exactly what Im trying to say to these people, christainity is not about some laws that you must follow, its about having a personal relationship with God. o pari. . |
are these the verses ur talkin about?? 3In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.[a]" 4"How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!" 5Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Please where iin this passage would u find the ridiculous idea that jesus said baptism is a requirement ![]() |
Please Bobbyaf tell me where Jesus made baptism a requirement |
noetic16:God expects that we do certain things, like paying tithe and whatsoever. . . Just like your father expects you to obey him Ask yourself. . . If I love my father I should obey him, does this mean that if I disobey my father, then he is no longer my father??. . this is common sense. . . I hav already detailed how ur statement constitutes nonesense, with an analogy. . . revisiting it would be unnecessary There are rewards for disobedience. . . As I said b4, I hav quoted what the bible says, wether you think what the bible says is ridiculous or not is your own cup of tea. |
If u dont no me already then ur som1 else sorry bruv. . . anyway I lik ur posts. . . keep em cominU jus hav the same exact character of a friend of mine tho. . . ur practically his clone!! |
The answer to this topic is very simple There are two stages of christainity 1 Acceptance 2 Works Acceptance depends on the presence of faith and invitation of christ to become our lord and saviour Anything we do after this is our works Jesus christ ordered us to do so many things after getting saved one of which is get baptised, are you guys telling me that if we do not do any of these deeds then we would go to hell? maybe if we do not go to church or preach the gospel or something?? Where is the logic in this?? The Bible clearly states For by grace are ye saved THROUGH FAITH, and not of yourselves, it is the GIFT of GOD, not of works, lest any man should boast. In other words God gives you salvation if you believe in him, that you get baptised does not add or subtract from your salvation. Baptism is another commandment, law like tithe or preaching, you should do it, but it does not affect your salvation in any way. . . noetic16:you have made one very controversial point and one which is just arrant nonesense controversial - that christ commands all who are saved that they MUST be baptised nonesense - That the absence expression of a certain something negates its presence Your argument here is firstly a fallacious slippery slope, because you argue without any conviction of sorts that obedience would neccessarily follow faith. . . Is this really true?? Secondly, could you not feel something without expressing it?? I love my mum I could show her this by maybe washing the dishes So if I do not wash the dishes. . . . then do you conclude that i do not love my mum?? This is a clear logical fallacy termed the confusion of cause and effect!! Also, allow me to fool around with your statement a bit you say: JC commands that all who are saved MUST be baptised you've basically said this 1 All those who are saved 2 Get baptised Look at it this way Tattoo artist gives rules in his shop 1 All those who get tattoos 2 Cover it with a nylon for a day If when I get my tattoo I do not for some reason cover it. . . . . I have no tattoo ? |
Hmmm, why didnt I stumble unto this section earlier. Okay First of all, Inesqor. . . its either I know you or my judgement is for the most part F!@kd up!! I no know sha Anyway Let's address the post If you really want you question answered, the first thing you must realize is the power of definition. How can we define supernatural? How can we adumbrate the paranormal? Its simple. . . the prefixes super- and para- point to instances when the words they qualify become inconceivable. Thus from these definitions we must see how subjective the concept of the supernatural/ paranormal is as it. It forms a pedestal on concepts like location, religion, time. . . . Now my point: In 09 AD, It would surely have been supernatural to travel at 220kmph in a metal box. All that differenciates fringe science from protoscience is a few discoveries. . . and yes I said science, because I believe most of these things could be acheived with science. Teleportation/ something close anyway could acheived with quantum entanglement Telekinesis could easily be acheived with electrical enhancement to cognitive centers and all that. . . Deduction is also a science as much as it is an art Thus for those that even question the paranormal @toneyb . . . you should understand that the natural laws were discovered and that for the most part these abstractions that you have considered to be the natural laws have been disproved or modified(classical mech and relativity and all that garbage). Let me also point out that I believe in the spiritual. . . but I also believe that man's variation of the spiritual is termed similar to the godly one Eg. If some god just rose in the air and started movin around, he'll be flying. IIf an aeroplane also rose in the air. . it would also be flying, If a guy had a jetpack, he'll be flying too. . . . |
eldee:Lol. . . . I dey read am now nah. . . make i read am fini. . . haaa d guy just hit me with a dactylic pentameter. . . Haaa. . . . why do people speak so unintelligently like this Look. . . I rap and you must understand that I love the lyrical and thought-provokin stuff If u want u can check out my recent youtube vids https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENrm7rW_d_w https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwzBaIjx8iI My point however is that because music is not lyrical does not make it bad/not good For christ's sake, some of the best music don't even have lyrics at all, jus ask Beethoven or Bach. . . My point is this: when it comes to music, the criterion for rating is flexible Is it a GOOD dance track? or is it a GOOD "track with a message"? etc etc In fact do you guys realize how hard it must be to make a conventional track that says nothing really but still captures people's attention and sets the artist apart from the othe hundreds of thousands trying the same thing?- Terry G is dexterous, maybe not with his lexical aptitude, but something, maybe its rhythm, or his ability to identify with the listener or giv them what they want to hear when they jus wanna stop thinkin and have fun!! |
