Pen-ultimate - Streetwize yes boss!! |
@ davidylan I just find it amusin when atheists preach their foothold on logic when actually the answers to most of their squestions are simply common sense |
Also In a bid to correct the misconception of your zeus question I will ive you a little chapter i wrote a while back. Hope this helps “BOOM” AND WE WERE I sat under the canopy of the trees, overwhelmed by the surrounding green, basking in the euphoria of natures magnificence, trying my best to decrypt the reason for the existence of existence. This forest was a place isolated from the septic touch of man's influence, a perfect world where the trees bloom for the very essence that their leaves fall off and for once, I allowed myself to ponder deeply the veracity of my beliefs. Could such perfection have been the results of so decimating a force as a bang? Could existence really be an accident? I began drowning in the stupidity of my logic and made desperate gasps for air in scientific theories. There was a big bang and hence there is no God I reminded myself. I heard the leaves rustle to the left of me, and my heart started palpitating at a rhythm different from the throbbing of my soul. My eyes still fixed upon the leaves of a tree, I felt a man walk towards me and sit by my side. He looked up to my tree and we sat there gazing, silent for a hiatus of time that could easily have been a period of pregnancy. Then as if he knew what I was thinking he gestured towards the tree and said “Quite magnificent for the result of an explosion, Isn't it?” I looked across at him and was taken aback by the kindness in his eyes. But the crook in his grin as he spoke mildly evoked my anger at this man's implicit mockery for my beliefs. “Do you want to talk about it” he asked, that annoyingly reassuring smile still extending from earlobe to earlobe. “Talk about what” I spat back. No answer. I turned and looked into his eyes and it was as if he had rummaged through my heart and found the source of my discomfort, and then I realized that there was no point in not telling him what I was thinking; he already knew. “God does not exist. He did not make the heavens and the earth. The earth was formed from a series of cosmic explosions commonly referred to in unison as the big bang.” I spilled out glad to finally pour out my heart to someone “ Really?” he asked, still smiling. Now, I was inflamed with anger and started pouring out all that science had taught me “ Yes, there are many contradictions to the theory of the big bang and no direct mathematical proof, but that does not change the fact that it did happen. A scientist known as Edwin Hubble made an observation that the universe is expanding continuously. Scientists later began to understand that the velocities of galaxies were originating from a single point; A point that was the arena for the event when all matter and energy was contained at one point; the point of the event called the big bang.” I went on for close to 30 minutes explaining the big bang, the evidence for its occurrence such as the red shift, NASA'S COBE satellite detection of uniform microwaves, the abundance of primordial elements, and other such things. I yelled, gesticulated, ranted and even tried to write on the back of a tree trunk all the while proving to this unintellectual being that science explains everything, even the beginning of the world. “So you see all these prove that the big bang occurred.” I concluded, my head held high, a vehement grin plastered across my countenance, my face still red from all the exuberance that I had just displayed. “So what?”he asked quietly but confidently, his eyes still affixed on the tree up above. I looked at him as if he had lost his marbles. “So what? Is that all you can say”I asked feeling an increasing urge to kick him in the nuts. “Okay. What if the big bang occurred. Think about it, does that mean that God does not exist?” I was taken aback by his question and in the twinkle of an eye all my exuberance was disappeared from under me. I stared at him speechless as he continued with an uncanny illustration “Assume that you carved a group of tiny wooden people who could walk and talk and had free will to think for themselves.”he said looking into my eyes. All I could do was nod. He went on “One day two of them were arguing about your existence and they had this exchange First one:Tom created us Second one: “No, Tom did not create us, we were carved from wood!” My eyes slowly widened as understanding crept through me. “Are you saying that God created the earth with the big bang.” I asked with a huff He smiled at me. “No. I do not know how God created the earth, all I am saying is that the bible did not say how he did create the earth; It just said that he created it. The big bang is just another way that God could have created the earth, so proving that the big bang occurred does not prove that God did not create the earth, it actually proves HOW he did it” He was right and the feeling was unsettling. I looked down and all that came out of my mouth was “b, b, bu, bu, bu, but, ” He understood me and continued “Imagine if scientists decided to use explosions to make a hole of certain dimensions and accuracy in a particular place by controlling the explosion in the right way; they could. However, an explosion on its own would not make that perfect hole in the right place; at least not 99.9% of the time” Then he asked me this “So if you see a perfect hole in the right place, would you rather believe that it was fine tuned by a scientist or that its perfection is mere coincidence?” He was right; probability, mathematics and science were in favor of the presence of a controlling scientist, |
Mudley313:oH and your point is that when ur father was teachin u to ride a bike and could have stopped u from fallin but did not, then he is bad ![]() Its very easy for parents to stop their kids from dying So that the kid will not- Die in an accident (Keep him from going out ever!!!) be electrocuted (Have no electrical appliance in your house) gettin some diseases (he must never play around or anything) commiting suicide( tie his hands and legs up and keep him bound forever) and so on and so forth But parents allow their kids to go out and all this because its called, having a life mate!!! my point is that if God wanted to protect you from everything you will not be a lifeform, you will be some kind of robot who doesnt have a life. . . And of course nobody wants to die because this world is filled with the things they love and they find it hard to leave these things be For exampple if I was told me and me alone would be given free visa to united states to stay forever, its awesome, but ill be scared to leave behind everything ive known and loved my mum, my brothers, all my friends etc etc. . this is common sense, ur jus tryin to make a point out of nothing and ur failing miserably Lastly, I have said absolutely nothing about people of old not havin moral ethics or being not advanced. all I have said is that if ur readin the shakespearean sonnet above you would not interprete it as eyes and a heart fighting. We interprete a bible story based on the message it intends to reveal about maybe how God works for his people etc. . . just as you would interprete umm BATMAN- the dark KNight as a story of a hero who is trying to protect his city from a psycho and not a spectacle of two deranged lunatics destroying buildings an revelling in their stupidity as they throw wierd objects at each other and destroy the whole town. As for your little comment on Zeus, it actually pertains not to me but to you " That you can explain thunder. . . does this mean God does not exist" or are u saying that because you can explain that a table was carved, there is no carpenter??" how ridiculous!!!! |

return slap then peck |
stupendous slap |
tanimz:now dats what Im talkin about ![]() Is surprised that bahamas babe has been taken byy rudeboi |
And for your killing thing, I have also addressed it Do you expect father to hold the hand of another adult when he is crossing the street, since he should "Lead by example" As I have said before, all what God tells us to do is for our own good, he is the objective power and his decisions, which may not be understood by you, as that child wont understand why his dad chooses to crosss the road without help, are well beyond the commands he gives us |
jagunlabi jagunlabi:You have yourself just defined how God acts. . . thank you very much, . . All he tells us to do are out of LOVE as you said, perfect father-son relationship. You will find that everythin God commands is for our own good and not just for some "Hey break your CD player and throw it at the TV" control thing. As that child would probably grumble that "what the hell is wrong with my dad, I hate holding hands" same way ur grumblin right now. perfectly understandable |
Hasnt been taken apart by a rudeboi b4 |
cigarette |
Demoralizin slap |
tanimz:watch urself there oh, or i would personally come to the bahamas and show u ima rudeboi ![]() Looks like a young kid |
Tonye-t:mmmhmm But is disobedience evidence that you dont love the person?? Are you tellin me that you have never disobeyed God?? afiq:This says nothing about the requirement of baptism for salvation. Its givin baptism as a command, like any other command like dont lie or covet your neighbours wife. It does not pertain to my argument as I am not saying you should not get baptised or not preach the gospel. But preachin the gospel is not necessary for u to be saved, u should do it, but it is not a requirement for salvation You people must be pompous if u think that you work for your salvation gettin baptised and doin works. This totally negates the essence of Jesus's sacrifice. He has already worked for our salvation. . . . |
Yes, as I said before God expects you to obey his commandments, however the logic is very simple Now what the bible really says as you know is. If you love me, keep my commandments This is not a condition of any sort. I can tell my wife, If you love me, go to shomolu and pick up my rubber slippers from the shoemaker. Wether she does this or not does not change the fact that she loves me or not And I am not sayin what God asks is unreasonable, all I am telling you is this That you obey him doesnt mean you love God, and that you disobey doesnt mean u despise him either He expects that we show our love by obeying him, but that we dont obey just means we arent showing the love through obedience, not that it isnt there you do not do what he told you to do one day, does that mean you dont love him ![]() |
I nor no d guy oh, but it be like say na dirty slap I go sound am ![]() |
Likes unnecessary posing ![]() |
Chukwudi44 ive already addressed that, first of all no one is yet to show me where it was made a commandment to get baptised and secondly, the fact that you disobey your dad does not mean that you do not love him, you just disobeyed him ni. . . abi uve never disobeyed God of your dad b4?. . . |
Zodiac61:As for my point about reading it like literature. . . to get God's message for you at some time, you also need divine inspiration, but my point is that you do not require divine inspiration to get past all the so called "flaws" that people say exist in the bible, all you have to use is common sense. |
streetwize:Im not askin u to be lawlwss followers, Im askin you to be Jesus's friend and obey hiss two commandments Love God and Love your neighbours as you love yourself. Everything will fall into its place. We now have a father son relationship with God. . . Even Jesus gave some other things priority over the LAW, as you well know. In fact he was in constant disagreement with the upholders of the law(them pharisees and saducees |
Bobbyaf, are u saying "born of water" translates to baptism you must be extremely deluded. . . |
