19 years ago, I came to the city and now I can beat my chest that I'm better than before. Going back to my village is still what I cannot say because it is only Lagos and Abuja that I can stay in Nigeria today.

I cannot forget that day I took that risk that was suicidal mission in disguise. Guess what! I came to Lagos having nobody and where to squat. What a wild escapade it was. Today all are history.

themaestro08:
I disagree with you. your reasons on why a Nigerian should disown his country because of the actions of few is unsubstantial and thoughtless. criminals are found everywhere from Switzerland to Singapore.

Even white people don't use the same paint to brush us, because every sensible person knows such people are a tiny percentage out of our mammoth population.
Generalization is the highest form of ignorance...
TravelRe: Nigerians In Diaspora Should Learn Good Behavior. by Stricklybidness(m): 10:06am On Oct 01, 2019
Gerrard59:
Not just the aggressive culture but the quality of people who migrate to those countries. An instance is Malaysia, the kind of Nigerians who move to Malaysia is of very low quality compared to those who move to Singapore. This is because the former has a relaxed immigration process than the latter. Most of these people didn't finish secondary school or at best dropped out from the university. Similar behaviour displayed in Malaysia happens in Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia etc. To worsen issues, most Nigerians are loud mouthed and display criminal tendencies.

The poster above me said it all, when these set of persons behave stoopidly in Nigeria, how then do you expect them to behave rationally in foreign countries? And these are countries where the law works. It's why I don't feel for those who were affected by the xenophobia in South Africa (call me whatever you like) but until the vast majority of Nigerians start obeying the laws where they reside, they'd keep facing problems from the host. Furthermore, my mom who spent a greater number of years growing up in francophone countries across the continent explained that Nigerians especially Igbos tend to be loud mouthed, haughty, disobedient and dishonest to the host. Which is why according to her, most Nigerians were pursued while in Gabon when the Gabonese were fed up with their antics. There was a time she was in a restaurant in Togo when some ladies came to eat and during their ensuing discussion, they asked which country my mom and her colleagues come from. My mom responded Nigeria and these ladies left the restaurant! Thankfully, the set of Nigerians migrating to Canada are of a different mentality (similar to Singapore). However, the problem is that there's a tendency most will become "woke" and "liberal" and start demanding for rights they didn't ask while in Nigeria.

OP, my advise is that in a situation where the vast majority of Nigerians are brutish and rascally in behaviour, don't ever claim to be a Nigerian except to law authorities. Try as much as possible to disassociate yourself from them. Claim Ghanaian, Kenyan or Motswana (someone from Botswana)

P.S. So-called Nigerian intellectuals on social media will continue to blame foreigners for holding Nigerians accountable but there will come a time when the average Nigerian will be thoroughly despised and avoided. Also, stiffer immigration policies will make things harder to relocate because of brutish attitudes displayed by Nigerians. An instance was when Singapore cancelled the visa free status for Nigeria because most who utilised it were transporting drugs and Singapore has the death penalty. Today, it's extremely difficult to get a Singaporean visa from Nigeria even for those who got admitted to INSEAD Singapore campus. You must prove all provable to be granted visa. But hey, "foreigners are against us", "they're jealous of our hustling spirit". Nonsense and ingredients hustling!
Nice write up...

I love so many things about my job.

1. Renumeration pattern..
-We have access to fixed and variable incomes... Variable income such as commissions for going extra miles, getting out at odds hours of the night and bringing in jobs

2. Dynamic nature..
-Each day I am faced with fresh new challenges. What I did yesterday will definitely be different from what I do today or tomorrow. In short, each day, I never can't tell where I will get to or what I will do.

3. Field work
-My job required me to always be on the go. Moving from one part of the other within Lagos and beyong. Today am in Kano tomorrow, In in Umuahia, the next I'm in Ghana or Togo.

4.
Sounds like the kind of job I'm looking for..... Always on the go...

Yep... But, I doubt young Chelsea has the "spine" to achieve that. I hoped Everton and Spurs would step up, going by their signings, but right now, we seem to be back to another 2-horse race.
Everton have assembled their best squad for over ten years yet they are misfiring... I think after their next match with city anything short of win or draw den Marco Silva will definitely b axed... As for spur s and Chelsea they need to fixed their back line...

Some channels on my TV were not showing, so I called the Dstv call center. There was a long wait before my call was picked, so I was extremely irritated as I waited. Finally my turn came, the agent on the other end of the line asked for general details, like smart card number etc. To conclude her security questions, she asked for my name to confirm my identity. I don't know if it was due to my irritation or just pure absentmindeness, but I couldn't remember my name. I tried hard to remember, nothing came up so I just dropped the call, only to start the whole process all over again grin Yeah, that was embarrassing. I felt like an Alzheimer patient. LOL!

First thing to do is to let the girl go. You say she is serving, meaning she is already looking at marriage in a year, max two year's time. So let her go and focus on yourself.

Because if you use the time you should spend on your own self-development now, to sustain the relationship with her, even if you guys managed to get married in your currently broke condition, that type of cashless marriage would be hell on earth.

Next is to learn a skill. I don't know what you studied or where your strengths lie, but any skill that brings you daily money is good enough: welding, mechanic job, dstv installation, web development etc. Throw that degree certificate into a drawer somewhere and learn how to do something with your hands. While you do that, you can also get on the track of professional certification in accounting. That's a very valuable skillset, though it can take a while to acquire it unless you studied that particular course while at school
You can say that again...
