Let me tell you guys something, while there 're designers who collect 50k-10M for Logo design projects, there are also people who charge 500-1k to 5k for same.

It doesn't mean that they are not good. Everybody grows. We all learn. And we get better. You won't deny the fact that you did not at a time collect same amount for Logo designs. So, please, instead of jumping on him for stating his fees, why not ask him why?

There're medical doctors who bill their patients 100-500M. While some collect 5k for treatment. It doesn't make anyone of 'em less a doctor. The difference is that one of 'em is well positioned or understands his job better than the other and knows how to bill his patients. But, don't forget, there's a situation where you 'll find yourself, no matter your level of expertise, the people around won't pay you some amount for a service.

I don't know if whatever I say count but it will be on record someone said it. I learnt few things in life with my few days on earth, one of which is IF YOU DON'T BUILD YOUR DREAMS, SOMEONE ELSE WILL HIRE YOU TO BUILD THEIRS. which is what you are doing collecting salary right now, like someone said finish your hostel project first and chase ur dream squarely, I believe if you've been preparing for 2yrs as u claimed with dedication, passion and perseverance, even if the business have hiccup at a point, you are going to overcome it. Nothing good comes easy and also remember u can't eat your cake and have it. if at the end, d biz failed, and you wanna get a new job, your experience and connections from your present job will give you way if you are good because you will b a hot cake that moment. Then you will be fulfilled you gave ur best shot but ddn't hit the mark rather than procrastinating. Goodluck

I tel people what differentiate you from other designers is your output. I know if he is confident of his output, he won't charge that or maybe he is an upcoming trying to get more jobs for practice. I wish him luck

No wander most of them are termed chick, sharp guys chop them like biscuit. Also why most of them marry the wrong guy which later gives them problem when they settle down. Choosing partner is suppose to add value to you and not a mirror u shld b glaring at. whether tall or short, just follow the quality and not quantity.

After submitting few applications and no invites, and also considering the number of graduate released every year, I concluded within me that the way forward is being self employed.
I asked myself, what can I do.. on reflection I realized I use to love drawing which triggered my decision to go to art class in the begging of SS1 but I considered science cuz I know I can still express my drawing skill there.
I also remembered my interest in computer, phone especially configurations for free browsing pushed me to apply for computer science but was given an option to study agriculture which I accepted cuz I dnt wanna waste that admission year.
I tried graduating well few point below first class and hoping to get job. no job is coming, my little savings from services is going down, I can't continue to demand for cash to maintain my self and as the first born with jnr once, I gat to take some responsibilities.
Then I started playing with coreldraw, after a while I started looking for tutorials both online(YouTube) and offline with lots of practices. I started getting little job from friends who later introduced me to people cuz of how satisfied they are with my attempt.
Today I am proud to call myself a graphics designer. I always look out to satisfy my customers.
In all, I am happy I started then but still have a regret, I didn't start earlier. Wish myself luck.

Build your dream or someone else hire you to build theirs. I was dscusing with a friend recently that the major cause of employment is lack of new industry/company to accumulate/absorb the increasing graduate in the country. The case is like a thousand graduate running after few hundreds of job. I said, even government has their part of the blame by nt creating enabling environment for new company to spring up, but as citizens we should also change our orientation of looking for job because that's the dream of virtually all graduate, if we want our future graduate in 30 yrs time to have job, we all need to start something now (business) and by that time would have matured to employ those with the mindset of getting job after graduation.
May God help me in the career path I choose; Graphics designer.

We are quick to condemn others, this is brainwashing at the highest level. in as much as I believe something created heaven and earth (God), the great genius then would also believe in the same, the reason they came up with cooked story and assumptions ( disguising under inspiration from God) to make you believe we all came from Adam and eve. with the little I know about Bible it is very contradicting and if one out of the whole verse is false, the whole book lacks credibility. Do u also know the Bible support killing of other religion members?
To let u knw they are genius, they put some verses to shut u up, like torch not my annoited, thinking about Adam and eve giving birth to this world is a sin thereby making it misery etc.

Open graphics office for me make I run it, all we needed is an office, DI machine for a start and system. You will get your money back in a year. All other things will fall in place. You will still be left with more cash to setup other business. But look around, printing is day to day activity.

I have never received salary in my life, but graphics design add value to my purse, sometimes hundred, thousands and I believe soon, million.
Maybe some of us were born not to work for anybody. But if otherwise, I have a good grade in school.

Nobody planned to stay at home after NYSC, it s only few lucky once that get the dream job while majority keep hoping for better days ahead.
It took me about 2 months after NYSC to start learning graphics designing, I never thought of it for once in the past, but when reality set in, I embraced the best available choice. For your info, I can boldly say... I am better than my equals in the field and my quest for more knowledge will make me par with the Pro in the field.

You can go into graphics design, you get an office in a good location and some machine for startup. I will partner with you as the graphics designer and even employ more man power to assist as the field is very Wide. People need graphical work esp printing always.

I don't understand, is that thing suppose to fly or what is the wing for.

After graduation while waiting for NYSC, I thought of how I could be financially stable without depending on my parents. Then I learnt basics of java programming, this I couldn’t continue during service because of the proximity of the accredited centres by NYSC Skill Accusation & Entrepreneurship Development (SAED).
I applied online for various job to the extent I almost got scammed, thank God I wasn’t so desperate
Few weeks after service, I realized there is something I can do on my own through the help of some Youtube videos, entheos web page and constant practices; Graphics designing.
This I have been doing at the corner of my room (Freelance) and also getting few jobs through my friends. After so much consideration, I am convinced I will do very fine with my rocket improvement and if I have an Office where I can put my skill to use in graphics related task.
Though, I am still improving to add more area of interest in the field but I need start-up capital to establish an office which will increase prospect of getting more jobs.
My only hope of getting this Capital is working so hard to raise some cash through my freelance, loan is not an option here as I do advise people that you don’t get loan to start-up a business rather, you get loan to expand your business.
