This is laudable. It's only parochial and stereotype individuals that will oppose this initiative. Other things being equal, investment in Education has very high returns! Ofcourse, every programme as this will definitely have one or two potential treats, but then that doesn't negate the plausibility of this programme. With proper, good & intense monitoring mechanism coupled with transparency and accountability this programme will succeed! However, as school enrolment and other quantitative measures increase, there is also need to give attention to the quality dimension of schooling, in terms of teacher-pupil ratio, learning materials and the likes. The development of any Country is highly dependent on the quality of her human capital! Rather than giving destructive criticism, why not offer suggestions on how to block the possible leakages? Trust me, your suggestions will fly ![]() |
luvinhubby:But seriously, are you inferring that both regimes are faced with the same political and economic challenges? |
luvinhubby:As for enlightening you, trust me, it will be my great delight~ but I think it's best you do your own research and then, if you can't find one feel free to contact me. |
luvinhubby:Whenever I read comments like this comparing previous administration with the present one, the question that comes to my mind is : given this present political, social and economic reality, would they have done better? All the above indicators are effects of some causes. Please note that the present economic and political reality and fundamentals are far different from what we have then. And if I must say, tougher! |
Yeah! They are good set of technocrats, but then, that doesn't make them the best and doesn't means they should be re-invited. The fact that they did great is a pointer to the fact that there is high possibility for others to do greater and better. Nobody has the monopoly of initiatives nor intellectual prowess! |
This almost got me laughing ![]() |
Mind telling us what happened in-between ![]() |

I pray we shall get it right as a country, someday! |

Bravo! It's been fun reading different perspectives to issues in here. Nice one! |
Eeeeyah... |
You mean guys whose parents are rich marrying ladies whose parent are rich ![]() ...@OP, having rich/poor parents is not a guarantee that a guy will be rich/poor (although the probability could be high~ let's say, 0.63 compare to a guy with poor parent) ...that's why it's advisable for a young man to work-smart early in life. Since riches and power seems to be the ticket to crossing the class barrier, then get the freaking ticket early in life & marry anybody you so wish to marry irrespective of class! You may be born with silver spoon, wooden spoon or no spoon at all; no matter the state of your "spoonfulness" work-hard/smart and buy yourself any damn spoon you want! |
slyIsaac:Ok I wish you the best in your quest! ![]() |
It saddens my heart most of the time when I see the discussions young folks of nowadays prime themselves with ![]() Back then in 1800AD we had better issues that pokes our curiosity!...that storms our mental sea!...that gets our attention! unlike this decay generation of youths who set having 3some as a life goal/achievement and colour every thread with the message of sex- so sad ![]() I really wonder when we gonna start engaging our mental endowment in productive and enterprising discuss ![]() #No_Offence ![]() |
onatisi:You mean Buhari's travelling is unnecessary? Wow! Sometimes ago I read about how Singapore moved from Third world to First World. One of the lessons I leant centres on the importance of international relations and that such travelling as this are (in most case) necessary steps towards securing trade relations, building military partnership, among others. Loan is not bad in it self when used for capital project or development-driven venture that pays good return on investment and as such making up for the burden of repayment. Do you means the present government is not engaging in any initiative to revive our agricultural sector? Ipso fac to! It is evident that this is a core area of focus for the present administration. Maybe, it will help if you are specific about the kind of concession you are advocating for ![]() |
I think the OP made his point (which no doubt may not be the true picture of our present economic reality) nevertheless, the intellectual space is wide enough for a healthy counter na ![]() It baffles me when I come across comments condemning the present FX policy stance without proffering feasible and realistic alternative ![]() Not to mention how pitiable and laughable it sounds when I hear some folks preaching devaluation when it's obvious that Nigeria doesn't have the fundamentals to support such a policy move. Btw, when I read such comments as the ones up there , they remind me of the biblical Isrealites and Moses and the series of condemnation and complains thrown at Moses on their exodus to the promise land. Gosh! I really wish some folks can take chill pill ![]() |
Hey @OP! that's a glimpse of the funny world we live in. A world full of ironies: a world where abnormality is the latest version of normality. A world where people give what they can't take ![]() ...but then, in this same world where love seems to be a fairy tale, there still exist oases of love...all we need do is to give our emotion the benefit of our intellect. It doesn't mean love is overrated, it only means you have to be wise when choosing which partner's account to credit with your genuine affection. On the other hand, probably we sometimes mistook certain expressions for love when in the real sense they are not. I wish you an uncommon sense in handling this thought provoking issue! |
That's da Boss! Bravo! |
Nigeria Educational System! ![]() |
Unfortunately, present gnashing of teeth is not unconnected to the mismanagement and poor governance by past administration. However, nobody makes progress by dwelling so long in the past~ playing blame game! It's action time and not blaming time! |
AlienStar:You're welcome. |
AlienStar: Happy Birthday |
Noted! Cool list, although some of them are idealistic ![]() |
Disagree! |
Happy Birthday. I wish you the very best in all you do. Cheers! |
You mean hired? @Topic ![]() |
