Just thinking out loud
If i may ask, must you always reply to almost every post?
That Nigerian mentality of "using a sharp coloured photocopy" is rather the dumbest on this thread.
How about telling the applicant to try and get copies of same letter addressed to different universities,if they really want an admission to those school
Na by force to reply ? park well

EventsRe: How to Achieve the N500,000 Budget Wedding In Nigeria by styles2009: 2:27pm On Mar 14, 2015
profinmasscom:
One of my tenants organised a successful wedding with 80k, he did'nt buy a new cloth, he washed his old cloth and ironed it very well, but guest of the occassion thought the suit was a new one, the wedding gown was giving to him for free by his best friend who has a wedding/decoration office, the owner of the band he hired is a member of his club, he only gave him money for transpotation. Then paid his boys (4 people) 1500 each. He cooked one bag of rice for the occassion. He did'nt hire a caterer because his wife is into the business. So the colleagues of his wife came and handled everything concerning food. He bought all kinds of drink that worth about 60k, but stylishly, he returned the drink and collect back his money. Most of the drink was alcohol, but since the reception took place in the church, he used the strategy and told the guest to calm down until the members of the church go home. Because his church is against drinking alcohol. All the drinks were packed inside a pick-up, if anybody complained of lack of drink, he will direct the person to me, then I will give the person one bottle to drink inside the car also with the assurance that we will soon bring all the drinks to the occassion ground as soon as the church members leaves. This was how the wedding went successfully, and he got a very nice gift. Believe me that 80% of the drink was returned to the seller. Because it was a planned event.
God go bless this guy

please ignore many post on this thread as Iit's mostly annoying.
I have notice so many assumptions from some posters here regarding to certain topic especially regarding to survival in Germany.
All I'll say is this,if you come here as a student ill-prepared and no enough funds to sustain till you get a job, don't blame the country or start shouting racism.
Let's be frank, you want to come and have a red carpet treatment you didn't get in your home country.

Big thank you to steylee2009 for ur quick responds I'm worry for not responding early coz I was busy and thanks for the inform u gave me,well I hope to study the language course for 1yr. Abt the expenses np it is taken care of by my sponsor, I would like to ask if I need both uni admission latter and language school to apply for visa before I start my language course.....
Since you want to do the language courses first,I guess the embassy would require only the confirmation that you have registered for the course.
Your case is a little different as you want to do only language courses first, I'll suggest you visit the embassy first for more information.
cheers

After my langauge course in Germany can I extend my student visa to be able to apply for studienkolleg? I'm going to repay another block fills for extension?
First question, how long do you think, you can learn the language fast?
The embassy might not give a visa to do the language courses in Germany because there's a German language school in Lagos and even when they do,the Ausländerbehörde (Foreign office in charge of student affairs) would only give you 2 years to complete your studienkolleg and language school.
Keep in mind the studienkolleg isn't a language school.
As for the block account,it's a requirement every time you need to renew your student permit in Germany.
My advice: learn the language to B1 or B2 level in Nigeria, it's far more cheaper as in Germany, where the cheapest language courses is around 300€ without calculating rent and other expenses.
Cheers

Good morning house, I would like to know if I can apply in Germany university before my language course ended coz I will be studying german in Germany in one yr so I wish to apply in studienkolleg before I finish my language course in Germany ?
First you would need a language certificate from Goethe institut to show proficiency in German before your studienkolleg application would be considered, if not your application would be rejected.
Go.slow learn german, then apply, some studienkolleg might even allow you do the entrance examination in Lagos before you come.

All.the best.

Thanks for your response EKE40seven. I am not exactly sure if we can make the arrangement for her admission, I would prefer that we get enough time to adjust before she takes up schooling because if I read correctly from responses to Sekinat, schooling and caring for a toodler may be a tad bit difficult.

I have a B.Sc in Electronics and Computer Engineering and applying to mostly communications engineering and Info Tech M.Sc programs.
Hello
I read your post concerning doing your master program in Hamburg and want to go with your wife and a kid.
My question as someone, who's in Hamburg over a year now, What's your plan after your master program? Do you want to work and reside here? or go back to naija? Am asking this question before i can give my own opinion.

Thanks for your reply. I'll be sponsored by my parents till I have things settled and probably get a job. I currently hold a valid french student residence card. Can I learn german at the university before starting my main studies? Read they offer a year preparatory course before beginning your main course. Also how do I go about getting cheaper accomodation? I think i'll be heading to Hamburg, do you have any information on it? Thanks alot. I have had it with the french and france.
please answer all my questions first ,so i can give appropriate answer to you.

Hello cher great nairalanders,

Im currently studying in France and would like to restart in Germany from september as I dont like it here. Im considering frankfurt, Hamburg or munich. I would like to know from experienced people which of this cities would be better, if its possible to obtain a german study permit in germany without having to return to naija, living conditions, how blacks are treated, how to find affordable accomodation and the possibility of getting a job whilst studying for some side cash. Thanks alot

PS: I have no knowledge of german yet. and i speak fluent french.
First you need to learn german.
Which level do you want to start from? bsc or master or contuniation from, where you are in France?
How would you sponsor your education? those 3 cities are okay.
What course do you want to study?
Depending on your current status, you would apply for your visa from France as i guess you have spent 6 months or more living in France.

Cheers

Styles,

How about A1 level.. will it be sufficient for job placement whilst someone continue with A2 classes over there?

Pls respond !
A1 or a2, fluency is what matter, as for doing A2 classes over there, some language schools are 250Euros per month, You got such cash to burn? Do you also have the time to attend class, go to school and find a mode of survival, i mean student job?

Please I wld like to knw...... if u will need xtra funds to finance yourself for the next yr after paying 8000euro or can d moni frm d student job be enough for d following yr...... And hw easy is it to get a job after Msc or do u av to cme back to naija........ Thanks
You would be required to get another 8000 Euros to renew your stay after the first year, there's no guarantee, you can get a student Job that would give you that amount to enable you renew your stay the next year cos schooling is a serious thing here, class, assignment ,projects etc, am not saying its impossible.

My tip, fluency in German would give you more opportunity to get a student job that would pay well and also connect you. As for staying after your studies, there's a law currently that allow, foreign students to search for Job regarding to their course of study after their completion of study and when they get one, they can stay, live and work here.

You might say, my course in master is in English, i don't need german, please learn it and you would thank me later.

does the first year in a Nigerian polytechnic fit with the German abitur? Or it must be university?
My advice, do a blind application with any authenticated result you got now and see the reply, find a school, thats, not on uni assist

@hyfr
@OlaoChi

Regarding your request to studienkolleg: First the studienkolleg won't give you admission,if you just apply with o'level waec result,so i'll say do the following

*First learn german up to B2 or more,as for all those writing A2 and some saying small german would do in any course even if your Masters is in English, Guys to heed my advice, Learn german and be fluentto a conversation level but not perfect, it would make schooling easier and also getting jobs too, i know why i am emphasizing on it and i'll show an example of Homework we are doing currently in studienkolleg

*After getting the B2, now start applying to any uni of choice and don't forget the polytechnics either through uni assit (Don't ask me for the website, google it baby!)

Then when you get the admission, forward it to the embassy, what many are forgetting to add in their application, write a letter of motivation and also state in the letter, you would like to receive your reply through email (pdf) i mean your admission letter.

check out this homework in studienkolleg

Honestly I started following this read last month,I've been an ardent follower of the canadian visa thread but decided to swerve, I've read this post from Pages1-65,that should be year 2012, it hasn't be easy, I feel I'm lagging behind so I decided to hasten up and join the current thread just like our brother JUSTWISE said the pages are too long to start reading backwards. So House please pardon me for bringing you back. I'd appreciate if you guys can help suggest a good place and university for mechanical/ ICT engineering(UNDE-RGRADUATE) pls. And how to begin to go about it, I've read some steps here but I'm getting more confused the only thing I grabbed is the 8K blocked account issue and few others. Please help a brother,I'm willing to follow your instructions
Hi
Do you have waec or you already studied first year in uni?
if you got only waec then you have to attend studienkolleg for 2 semesters before you can study in Uni or polytechnic in Germany.
The language of study is in German.

congrats dear. how long did it take the embassy to contactu after ur interview?
After applying, 2 weeks to submit my motivation letter,2weeks later,(4 weeks in total) I was asked to come and collect the visa,no interview was required from me.
if anyone remembered, I wrote about being a volunteer with red cross as i was in Italy, someone told me, german officials like embassy and universities give plus points for that.
