Eke40seven:There's no tuition fees in most german higher institutions including Studienkollegs, what we pay is Semester fee, which is about 300€ every semester, with this you get a transportation ticket with it for 6 months. |
To all wishing the same,I got my studentvisa yesterday,my this opportunity reach you too. ![]() |
Eke40seven:Am currently in studienkolleg, M kurs is a highly competitive kurs in almost all studienkollegs cos you all are going for courses, which getting a place in most university is highly.competitive too, no be joke Apply through uni assist with waec and minimum of B2 from Goethe. Please give all your best in german, learn it well and brush up your maths skills too cos you would surly get a place in many studienkolleg. My tip don't share with anyone, the schools or studienkolleg you are applying to as a M kurs student cos of competition from the Aufnamhmetest to Graduation from UNI. T and W kurs are relatively easy to get a place in studienkollegs. |
Oye50:Sometimes it's possible, you dad need to call the german embassy in the Netherlands or go there in person and ask,if he can sign a Verpflichtunseklärung for his son in Nigeria, who want to study in Germany. Sponsorer are allowed from these countries,Germany,Italy,UK, I don't know for Netherlands. |
honourableseyi:Italy |
Generalkorex:I took my SSCE result and Goethe zertifikat deutsch, went to the Italian embassy here in Italy, made copies of it and it was certified for free. I searched for Studienkollegs, see if they are under uni assist or not and applied. Weeks later, got an invitation to write the entrance exam and passed the exam. To all, you can do a Bsc undergraduate program in Germany with SSCE but you must attend studienkolleg and do a final exam after 2 semester before starting the Uni or polytechnic, language of teaching is 100% German. |
Following:My tip for you,you can study at a German university but you must first attend their Studienkolleg for 2 semesters cos SSCE results won't give you a direct admission and after completing your Studienkolleg, you can study in any university in Germany. Do the following: Enroll to Goethe Institut, learn german, look for a non governmental organizations and volunteer their, like red cross. You might wonder ,why be a volunteer? it's a plus point, when requesting for Any visa. No country want a person, who can't contribute to the community they live in. I did it,it worked for me,so do the same. reply here for more info,no pm please, lets keep our info public |
so sad its SSCE thats not even nice to see, just had the basic 5credits then!what's your advice pls cos I have stumbled on info in the part one about Germany not accepting ssce
If you dont know anything please don't jump into conclusions, I am currently attending Studienkolleg with my SSCE of 2002 then after 2 semester I'll proceed to any university or polytechnic of my choice. |
ogompaul:Apply to as many as possible |
bochu:I don do goethe years back, am in Studienkolleg now with B2,what do you want to study? Are u going to UNI or Poly? |
fapper:I would really be honest with you, from B1 you would speak and understand German but language is an individual thing, i've see B1 holders, who speak very well and understand German. Don't forget you are only allowed to work 120 half days or not more than 20hrs per week as a foreign student. The second question is ,can you balance work and studies and make good grades? My small advice, secure financial support for the first 2 years ,so you can integrate and know, how to balance things up. What do you want to study? Where do you want to study? UNI or FH I see alot of people here are so focused on UNI, abeg FH too dey germany. |
Mickyboiz:We got no tution fee, we got only semester fee, which is 300 Euros per semester (You get a transport ticket with it) and keep in mind that you need about 500-600 euro monthly to survive without a job and you must show this as proof of financial support or no visa/permit. |
kelvinetemah123:You can get admission with WAEC but you would have to get an admission to do Studienkolleg like i am currently doing. It's a 2 Semester gap before you start schooling in any Germany University or Polytechnic. cheers |
fapper:I won't lie you, no german, no job, if you are preparing to come here, learn programming languages, gertoo and you go work for one small company like my Vietnamese classmate did. |
shoyemiayodeji:no excuse for being a pig! |

wonderbobs: charge 4 flight? I checked the Lufthansa website and am seeing things like $1144 for return ticket to Frankfurt/main but am open to suggestions..... But it has to be Lufthansa thoughGuy, buy a one way abeg, which city is your final destination? |
Hello Nlanders, I am glad to be in this forum as discovered intensively educative. was really moved to join on here anyway. However, I have just a little question I would love to ask experts here to give me a ''candid advice''. I recently gained admission to study M.Sc Public Health in a German University precisely in Hamburg, I processed everything myself by filling their online application form within the deadline and thereafter was instructed to mail all supporting documents to them via the snail mail (NIPOST) which I did. After a while precisely about 2months interval, I received an email that they have accepted me and I should check my admission letter from their portal directly to download same which I did. On the admission letter (3 pages), I was instructed to fill the page 3 , sign and return back to them via post alongside other documents like insurance confirmation with a German insurance company and then, make a payment of 298.50 Euros to be credited into their German bank account of which they provided the details, for the semester contribution of which they gave me the breakdown and told me that without it, I cannot get the semester documents which would be needed for my Visa application. I contacted the recommended German insurance and got the confirmation from them within 2 days and to commence the monthly payment of 77 Euros upon my arrival in Germany. Now, my concern is this, do you advice me to make the semester contribution to the school so they would send me the semester papers as said by the admissions officer and also, what if I don't have the money (1.7m) for opening blocked account but rather, a relative wants to send me the letter of sponsorship for instance, do you think that would be respected just as the blocked account is? Also, the school charges a tuition fee of about 2400 per semester. Do you think the embassy would ask me to pay that first before leaving Nigeria for instance? Though the school said the tuition fee is only paid upon arrival in Germany. Conclusively, what if I have the letter of sponsorship (Verpflichtungserklarung) plus open the blocked account with an opening balance of 4000 Euros, whats my possibility of success with the embassy? Please, I need expect to guide me carefully on this because I also have an admission offer from the UK and I am thinking on the best option to take on. Thanks and God Bless Y'all.
Hello From your comment, if you have a relative in Germany willing to sign the Verpflichtungserklaerung for you, its equivalent to the blocked account and the German embassy won't ask you to pay for the school fees, IMHO cos the Verpflichtungserklaerung states the person signing that document is responsible for all your expenses during studies. Go for it but the school expensive sha, why not apply to the tution free schools. Cheers! |
princeolu254: Hello all, finally i got an email from the Embassy to come with my passport and 3months valid travel insurance...i really want to use this opportunity to say thank you to everyone for their unconditional assistance toward my visa application and most especially i give God all the glory for his great favour......for those of you applying newly, stay focus and be positive.. for those waiting, your visa is on the way and you will definitely smile before the end of the year and for those already in Germany, Danke schoen und ich komme gleich!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Congrat!!!! now study well for the Aufnahmeprufung and mail me,Let us know, when you are in Deutschland and i'll give you a call,we'll see in Konstanz but i got another Aufnahmeprufung in first week of December. At the moment, its getting colder, January is not a funny time but look for a Winter Jacket and Timberland go help you. As someone mentioned from Zurich to Konstanz is just 1hr with the Bus >>>> http://meinfernbus.de/ but i don't know, if you would get a Schengen Visa or just a German visa, the (German visa) won't allow you to transit. Some Tips for you: House Search in Konstanz : http://www.seezeit.com/Wohnen/ Transport and moving around: http://www.deutschebahn.com/de/start.html (German Train network) Car sharing: http://www.mitfahrgelegenheit.de/ (This would help you save money going far with others) Cheap bus network: http://meinfernbus.de/ ( i like this one)Bring some Gala and Groundnut for me! ![]() Cheers |

ojialo: guy please my younger brother want to school in Germany please how will I secure an admission for him I don't have any school in mind and how much will everything cost? please I don't want you to give me ur number or email whatever u have for me say it here thanks@ojialo You or your brother should do some research on these site for information on studying in Germany www.daad.de or http://www.uni-assist.de/ to know requirements for study, be it Undergraduate or Master's level (I guess it's undergraduate level) Secondly, He would need some proficiency of the German Language as to satisfy the visa officials at the embassy. If you residing in Germany and working, this is,what you need at your end to do for him to come after he get an admission and at least completed some certain levels of German course at Goethe Institut (http://www.goethe.de/ins/ng/lag/enindex.htm ) or any approved German Language school in Nigeria Verpflichtungserklärung the Ausländerbehörde of your city has all the information on, how to get this document or if you don't have the Verpflichtungserklärung , he would need to open a block account and the German embassy in Nigeria can give him all the information he needs for that. In the following order >> Complete some German language course>>>> Apply for Admission through Uni-assist or find schools, that are not in Uni assit and free to apply >>>> Get Verpflichtungserklärung or Blocked account for student >>>> He can apply for a Visa then. Cheers |
This thread had been derailed... Recently all we do is diss one person or the other, not like the earlier part of the thread.. Its a known fact that almost all the questions someone can ask ready been answered, doesn't mean we turn the thread into a ground for exchanging insults. If you truly serious about studing in germany or any where else, you will go through from the 1st page, dosnt mean u must go through all because at some stage it becomes repetation but at least.. Please people let's keep it civil.
At least , one fellow here is still able to type something reasonable, almost everyone here is just ready to derail this thread and throw insult on opinion shared. Either you like it or not, it's my opinion of the thread and it doesn't change,as for those, who think this thread should have a part 1 or 2 ,then you don't know what information is all about, if its part 10, who cares?? As for all others trading insult in German, i don't insult people online, its a sign of bad netiquette ,moreover your German is off the hook! ![]() |
Justcul: Take few minutes to go through page 226..@ All regular members of this thread, IMHO people, who come here are mostly novice in this German school preparation and they are bound to ask questions but what is GO and read 266 pages, then come back here and ask question. ![]() Have you all taught about new updates or changes in the old admission process written in the 266 pages on this thread? To me its not like You are helping telling newbies here to go read the whole thread, its pure Arrogance. What happen to STFU or simply tell them, what you know and they move on, Common guys because you suffered to get the information doesn't mean everyone looking for the same information would go through the same route. Lastly, not that the newbies are lazy to read the whole 266 pages, some don't even have internet to scroll up and down like you do from your Studentenwohnheim. Like i would always say, its either you give people free information or the other part, i guess you know it better. Cheers. |
princeolu254: Yea Nahh summer i applied for.......my Entrance exam is in January 28th at Konstanz..... I dont know Maybe that could be the reason for the delay but make we see watin God go do......Hello Prince I hope you get the visa as soon as possible and a little TIP , go to the embassy everyday,if you can as this would show you want to go there and face your Aufnahmeprufung. You got only 1 Aufnahmeprufung to write? If yes, i'll tell you to find more for coming semester as Konstanz exam isnt going to be light, (Maths,Physic and German, everything in German of course) In Hamburg, the Aufnahmeprufung is on the 5th and i got a place booked for it and its only German Language test, no Maths or Physic @all others still swinging at me, i got no time for you ![]() See you in Konstanz! |
