elunico: Same Ebuehi we've seen against England, Serbia, Poland, Czech Republic, Iceland, Congo, Algeria. We've seen it all. Ebuehi plays against these guys but Aina struggles against Cameroun and Benin and this is even an argument |

benji93: Calm down. How about you actually listen when someone makes a good point. The Benin side is definitely better than the Lesotho team in quality, but their quality is still quite low too. Perhaps Ebuehi looks better because he's playing a much weaker side. Just maybe. Give it a thought. Don't be too Nigerian for your own sake. Ebuehi played better than Aina look at their individual performances, look at their passes and runs going forward, Benin and Lesotho are actually bad opposition but take your time and watch their individual performances |

andrewbaba44: Lesotho was better than Benin
Same Benin we struggled to beat
Be deceiving your self
Our defenders where mostly on holiday today and na only ekong do like Mumu small Lesotho played better than Benin that packed the bus for 90 minutes, they dominated our midfield in the first half, Benin had one shot on target the whole match, if our defenders went on holiday against Lesotho then they weren't even invited against Benin Wack analyst |

But rohr doesn't Aina had a goal and assist coming into this game so it was normal for him to start, but Rohr has eyes and I'm sure he saw this performance from Ebuehi |

12large1: Lol on the basis of these 2 games, I agree. But it was Lesotho. Lesotho was better than Benin, but it wasn't even about the opposition the way Ebuehi held possession and offered himself as a passing channel, not to talk about his attack and defence |

TheGoodJoe:
I am not impressed with the forward movements of the full backs when we are in attacking positions. Especially Sanusi.
There were times Iwobi was on the flank and he did not have support from the left. Same with Chukwueze.
Probably the tactics to maintain a back four during attack but I feel Ndidi and Etebo should maintain cover positions instead of fullbacks. Sanusi has been confused by Iwobi, there were some stray passes earlier on that Iwobi made that left Sanusi bemused, I think he is trying to play it safe at the moment |

People still rate Etebo in 2021, hug the ball and insha Allah
Ndidi would have been more secure in that midfield with Aribo |

Also bear in mind these are arguably their best players. Are they better than the players we have?? Yes, they walk into the team |

wayodude: Fair enough when you contextualise it like that. But I'll go through all the players one by one for us here ....I'll drop my comments in parts ...
Let's go!
Haller - big money West Ham misfit who with the benefit of hindsight they would wish they never made. He even admitted himself he couldn't cut it in the premier League. Thanks for the honesty Seb, but we already figured out that one. Okay so he now plays for Ajax and has managed a couple of goals but he isn't a first rate £40m striker any day of the week really, is he? To conclude on this one, if he was Nigerian he would probably get a call-up based on the fact he plays for Ajax but based on ability and contribution on the pitch he would at best be on the bench.
Pepe - Skillful winger without end product most of the time which makes him run-off the mill. This summary might sound harsh but I think is fully justified on the basis of the last 2 seasons. Just like west ham, arsenal were suckered into parting with £70m for his services, with the hope that he could replicate his League 1 form in the prem. They are still waiting....We have seen plenty like him who appear to have all it takes to be that clutch player that makes the difference. They always seem on the brink of reaching those heights but then they don't. Familiarly over the years we have seen a few of those in the super eagles. He may still come good though but I don't particularly get sacred by the sight of him. Do you?
Zaha - on his day he is world class he has shown the capability to carry his team on countless occasions. He is a legit threat to any defence. Now the problem. In 3 out of 10 games he is like Prime Eden Hazard and in the other 7 games he is ala Simon Moses in a random mid season fixture away to Strasbourg. Good player though. Will likely start for super eagles based on reputation and reputation only.
To be continued.... Zaha and Pepe start for the Super Eagles, what do you mean reputation only |
