Justobserving1: PPR!!!! I saw a post about people only posting when they are denied visa and not when they are approved and I felt bad because it is actually true. Anyways I joined nairaland after I submitted my application however, I will state what I did to ease my application
I applied on the 3rd of October 2018, did my biometrics on the 9th of October. Then on the 25th of October I checked my portal and sa my medicals has been updated to passed.
[b]I applied online and I did upfront medicals[/b Then on the 28th of November my eligibility review started, I got a biometrics validity correspondence later same day. Then on the 1st if Decmeber which is a Saturday I got my PPR. I didn’t even know they respond to people on the weekend
Anyways to the important part my documents SOA of 11m I paid my tuition of CAD7,800 I put my father’s companies certificate of incorporation. My father was my sponsor I put his sponsorship letter My bank statement was for 6 months there was also a letter on the statement from the banks stating my father is the sole owner of the account and some other information I can’t remember I also put my fathers certificate of ownership for a land I then put two different valuation documents for a house in lagos and ph
Then for the other information I put my SOP which was very detailed. I studied economics as my Bsc and I’m going for masters in economics which makes my case very easy to explain. I also worked in a good company practicing economy’s I put my present companies offer letter, WAEC, some NYSC documents because at that time I was still doing my NYSC. I put my transcript, TOEFL result because in one of the forms online I was asked if I had taken the English proficiency exam and I selected yes so It made a lot of sense to include that in my document. I got 96/120 in my toefl.
I prayed and prayed and prayed. I checked my portal everyday until I got the PPR. Thank God for good news. It shall end in praise for every other applicant. Amen |

LekwachiJJ: Hello everyone..Pls pardon my long post. Finally my visa came out today after I submitted my passport on 18th September. I want to give the glory to God and thank everyone here especially those make very insightful contribution, the type that gingerred me to take some steps.
Mine is a strange one. Applied on 11th May. Biometrics on 23rd May. Medicals on 23rd August. Passport request on 18th September. And then everything came to a stand still for over 2 months. Within this period I submitted over 7 CSE webforms and wrote over 10 emails to Lagos VO but got maybe 2 responses. Meanwhile my online status remained at a confusing situation: eligibility review ongoing, meds passed, background check ongoing but application approved and passport requested. By October 18th I received a mail asking me to send in updated bank statement in a new format: bank statement request ticket plus password. My bank had not implemented this new format and so gabe me a cover letter to add to the normal statement. And then nothing again.
My last webform was responded to with the story that my application was in London. I wrote London last week and complained about the restriction of my movement for other personal and business travels outside of Canada with the continued with holding of my passport. London responded that my application has been approved since September and that they are aware my passport was dropped at VFS, can I go to VFS for "printing of your visa". So confusing! VFS does not print visas. Even then my many visits there revealed thar my passport was at the embassy.
Finally yesterday morning as I was driving to Anifowose instead of VFS as directed I got a call to attend an interview this morning. I was there by 6 am and by 8.30 I sat in front of an officer who told me my bank statements were not clear or legible. This is bery untrue as I scanned them myself. After barely looking through the updated statements I brought he asked me to wait for 10 minutes and in exactly 10 minutes my passport came out with my visa!
I applied to study MA Communication in UOttawa. My first degree ia in Pol Science, over 27 years ago. I had an MBA since 2001 and am a very mature appliacant. My SOI stated that after working in communication for over 2 decades I needed to retire to academics by studying in Canada and merging my long practical experience with serious academic scholarship for the benefit of my future students.
Document attached: 1. Acceptance letter and Statement of Intent 2. Dom account statement with over 100kUSD 3. TD acount statement with 40kCAD 4. Letter of employment, payslips 5. Travel history to Canada, US, UK, SA, etc 6. Scanned passport data page ( passport valid till 1st June 2019. So while waiting I applied for renewal and added the new passport via webform and email).
I did not add any property or evidence of family ties beyond what I filled in the family information form. Just the above.
Bottom line while waiting, I prayed and fasted like never before especially after I was told my application was in London.
My admission was deferred to Winter with the kind understanding of my faculty and I will be travelling by God's grace before new year. My testimony I did not lose faith in the power of God despite the odds against me as shown in many of the tesimonies and feedback in this forum especially about long gap from last degree
I pray everyone here will have a good story to tell and bery very soon in Jesus name. Amen. Congrats. Amen |

I mentioned some courses of the curriculum of my school, ( I listed the specific courses I will be learning) and explained how those courses are in line with what my company needs at this time to take us to the next level. I also Stated one or two people in the industry internationally and locally in Nigeria who are my role model and how I researched on each of them. ( I provided a detailed analysis of my available funds and captured that on an excel sheet before transferring it to a word doc. I also stated sources of funds to fund my year 2 tuition and living expenses for myself and kids. ( A friend advised me to do this breakdown as this shows clarity and confidence before the VO that you have planned ahead and are able to cater for your program for year two also. She said this also helped her in her application, my friend has been in Canada for 2 years now, she also went on study visa)

WHY I SAID IT WAS A MIRACLE 1. I received passport request and then after 1 week and some days, I was expecting ‘’your passport is ready for pick up ‘’ only to receive an email in my CIC account that the passport request sent was sent in error. I was shocked that this could happen. When I researched on a few people online who this had happened to, it ended in a refusal. But I held unto the word of God that said ‘’ who’s report would I believe? God or man?). 2. I held unto the word of God. I prayed more, I praised him and I kept fasting, I encouraged myself. 3. I made a huge mistake while I was uploading my personal bank statement. After submission. I realised that my bank statement was supposed to be 20pages, but I mistakenly uploaded only 5pages. ( it was incomplete). I really did not know what to do, so I took it to God in prayers. I was scared that the VO would think that this was deliberate and that I wanted to hide something. But God took control. 4. In addition, some people genuinely advised that I apply first on my own then later my family can apply. But you see, my family is everything to me so I never for once considered the thought of applying alone first. So with faith, I decided to apply together with my family. 5. Also, my school only gave me one chance of deferral I had differed from 2018, and I would have lost the admission if I wasn’t granted the study visa, but I thank God who did it!
A big thank you, to all the seniors and everyone who takes time to responds to people’s concerns and request on this forum, to everyone who helped me with information on this nairaland forum. I must confess you guys are awesome and I appreciate you all. I pray from my heart, that my sweet Jesus who heard and answered my prayer would hear and answer the prayers of everyone reading this in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
Tip: Prayer changes things. Please never loose hope. God still works wonders. Always tell it to Him, He hears, He listens and he answers!
If you are applying as a family with Children, upon passport submission we paid 11k for each child for ‘’passport Transmission.’’
Mathew 17 vs 201- ‘’Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
It ended in praise, My God will do yours also and you shall testify in Jesus mighty name amen!
I am Goingforward.!!!! Forward only.
Please Amen Congrats dear |

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isa. 55:8–9).
God’s ways are higher. Trust that he has a divine purpose for every delay. Our viewpoint may be limited, but God sees all things. Proverbs 3:5 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” God may be putting everything in place before revealing His blessing to Us.
May God's blessings come to us speedily in Jesus name. I decree and declare open heavens upon our Canada study Visa applications.

Jit123: Hi nairalanders, I am a silent reader. I got to know about this group 6weeks ago. I got approval for student visa this morning and want to share my story. I graduated bachelors in technology in Aerospace engineering india on that 31th of may 2018. I graduated with first class with gpa of 9.4/10 (or 4.7/5 Nigerian equivalent). I got admission to do my master in aerospace engineering for fall 2018 at concordia university. I applied for my first Canadian visa with 6 weeks left on my indian student visa. (At that time the processing time in india have climbed to 7weeks). After 5 weeks I withdraw my application in order not to overstay my visa which will be a very bad thing for me and came back to nigeria. I defferd my admission to winter 2019 and applied for study permit in Nigeria paper route on Sep 17 ,2018. I started reading nairaland and boy O' boy i got freaking scared. After 5 weeks i got tired of all this and applied for fall 2019 intake at the best aerospace institute in france . This morning I got approval. Sidenote: I am not religious and the constant reliance on a supreme being to help your visa chances in this group got me a bit irritated. But I respect everyone's view and perspective.
Timeline: Degree: masters in aerospace engineering Submission date: 17 Sept 2018 with upfront medical and bio. ( I used the one I did in india for both medical and bio) Submission type : paper route Linked my application on the third day Eligibility review started on the 22nd October. Approval on 2nd November Time taken 6 weeks and 4days Congrats |
