u are getting it wrong my friend in this case of our beloved naija corruption cannot be erased in an instant it has got to be gradually. Even in GEJ's team there are lots of saboteur in his Government for instance take some one like Faruq Lawan honestly I held that guy in high esteem but look at what it all turned out to be . My status changed on monday to Your application reference number ........... is now ready for collection.Please visit the centre where you submitted your application with your Receipt and Identification Proof between 08:00am and 03:30 pm (Local Time) all working days to collect the same which has been processed on 23/07/2012 .

I already knew what that meant since I hadn't done medicals, got to vfs yesterday and got d refusal with 2 reasons...

1. You have not satisfied me that u have adequate funds available to u to pay for yur tuition and living expenses while in Canada and return to your country of residence.

2. You have not satisfied me that u will leave Canada by d end of d period authorised for yur stay.

Funny cus my tuition is 30,000$ and I've paid $10,000 as instructed by d school and even submitted d payment advice direct from my mums account to d school with her personal statement with 10million in it. Plus I have done a masters course in d uk in 07-08 and was sponsored by my mum and she declared that she indeed sponsored me and is gladly sponsoring me again.

I am to go in for an MBA at vancouver island uni bc.Anyway here are d docs I submitted.

My first degree certificate from unilorin. Sociology.
Transcripts for that.

My msc certificate from the uk.operations & business mgt
Transcripts for that.

Membership certificate of chartered mgt institute uk
Prince 2 project mgt professional certificate
Nigerian institute of mgt. Membership certificate.

Toefl result: I scored 101 out of a possible 120.

Not d best of jobs but I have a job, and I earn 84k monthly as a csr with glo. Although as a subcontrated staff from dier sister company gml.I only submitted my company docs to show i have a job and I'm getting paid monthly. I receive regular allowances from d proceeds of the rent as well.but there was no money in my acct at d time I submitted.

I used my mums personal act and not company act because that's where the payment of rent for popsis property goes into and did not see any need for including company statement again since that's not where d funds for my studies is to be taken from, I only included her company docs to show she has her job and does not rely solely on d proceeds of the rent. Anyway d vo did not think property worth 500m in my late fathers name bringing in 12million yearly is not enough reason for me to come back home , that's interesting.........they must be handing out gold on d streets of canada. Lol. Plus my mum has just 1 other dependant my younger sister who is in uni in ghana and my other siblings are my two elder brothers who are all married and settled in naija.I stated all dis in Mumsi sponsor letter and on d application forms.



Luckily d school has January start as well so ill be reapplying in sept.because it seems applying very early can also be a problem as I have learnt. I applied march 23 at vfs it got to cdhc march 26. My decision was made july 23. Exactly 4 months.

I learnt about this forum only after I had applied, I would have definately done some things differently if I had known about this.

hello Ancient 1 I think the tuition is too expensive for the statement which is almost 50% of the money in your mums account and you didnt add welfare to it this is how the VO questioned your documents 1. you are not the only child of your mum, 2. if almost 50% of the cash in the statement is spent on tuition how will the other members of the family and you survive. Take note that landed properties are only a tie for u to return back to naija. so my friend the logic in application is look for a cheaper school that will accommodate the statement of account to enable easy grant

The man is actually a good man, its just that his act cuts across foolery and honesty, even in Canada where I reside currently the white man will not make that mistake of retuning that cash never well the man's reward is in heaven but the question I keep asking why did it take so so long for him to be recognize not even from the government an NGO and also what is his reward. Anyway the government will not appreciate him because they are used to stealing millions and seeing someone who cannot gets them very upset (BASTARDS!). In my own opinion I think the man returned that money out of fear he has never seen such in his life before so he got scared of the cash he could not sleep nor eat so he returned it.

I am happy to see the vibrancy in the house for those that got their TRV and medical call up congratulations and also those that were refused TRV also congratulations because CDHC refusing now gives more reason for you to get it right next time there is nothing like failure it only exist when you decide to remain down with it but my fellow comrades I have come to discover that with right packaging your TRV is sure I have been here for a while now and I have seen so many unqualified people here but only God knows how they got their TRV well I see it as hope for those aspiring to come never give up if you dont get your TRV now you will get it later I prefer to see the cup half full than to se it as half empty . Most importantly let us know the details of what you sent to CDHC that will only help to know where you didnt get it right and we will all put our heart and soul together to fix it right.

I am no immigration expert but let's just say iv learnt a lot from my experience, peoples experience, iv tirelessly read articles and gone through the website of the consulate, worked a little with the experts and thus I know one or two about immigration which I would like to share.

First of all no two individual applicaton are treated the same way. Two friends may apply on the same day but they are not likely to get their passports or instructions back at the same time. Basically, it takes between 3-6 months for the entire process. Some (like myself) are called for medicals early, after a few weeks and some are called after months. It depends on how well arranged and organised ur application is, and how fast an easy it is to verify all your documents and most importantly the grace of God (as your application maybe perfect but the consular not in a good frame that day). Thus, you have to pray hard and work hard...you should ensure that every detial is covered, from passport photograph specification to school document etc. I remember when I took my passport photo, I dint like the first set of pics and I went all the way to ikoyi to take another because of the quality and experience I know the photographer had. This is to say that NOTHING should be taken for granted.

Also, you should never apply late or too early. For instance if your school starts september the best time to apply is march so you wouldn't get the excuse of insufficient time or look to desperate by applying much earlier.

The whole idea of your application should be based on the fact that your a genuine student,'one who is progressive' by this I mean if you have a bsc you should be going for a msc, mba, ma etc not a diploma. A pgd is only ok if ur degree class is a 2.2 and below. And you should b able to demonstate that the pgd, msc, mba, mphil etc is the right course for you, butressing on the connection to your previous degree. (This can be demonstrated through your transcripts, choice of school, choice of course, your letter of intent, professional body membership, awards, work experience etc) just make sure there is a connection.

Well below is the list of documents I submitted:

1. All relevant application forms, family form, study permit questionaire, etc (which I typed and filled online)

2. Letter of intent (which I titled 'my story') this is a brief introductory about the applicant. It should be a one-two page typed intro about you, your motivation, academic succes, reasons why ur going for a particular course, why canada, little bout ur family etc. Keep it short, smart and brilliant.

3. International passport

4. Passport photographs (with my details written on the back) pls make sure it meets the specification, plus wear a nice shirt, not much make up, look good and smart. Like a student should. Neatly hold the photos with an office pin.

5. Police clearance certificate. This is done somewhere near obalende.

6. Final admission letter from school with evidence of fees payment- if required of from the school.

7. Transcripts from previous university or institution(original copy)

8. Waec, neco (yes! Include it, with scratch cards for them to verify)

9.Nysc discharge certificate (if you have)

10.Testimonials, certificates, awards etc

11. Your birth certificate (original)

12. "COPY" of birth certificate of your siblings OR copy oftheir intl passport bio data page. If your parents don't have passport or birth certificate u can put a copy of their marriage certificate. Same applies to you spouse or kids if you are married.

13. Reference letter from present employer if employed, also include payslip.

14. Affidavit of support from your sponsor which should be typed on a page and notarised. (Your sponsor is best if its a close relative like brother, father, wife etc.)

15. 6months - 1year bank statement. Pls just don't deposite a chunck of money in your account/sponsors account. They want to see the history and flow of income in and out of the account. And yes they do verify all accounts!!
Make sure it is recent, stamped and signed.

16. Personal bank statement (if it also looks good)

17. If you are self employed or your sponsor is self employed attach dovs like certificate of incorporation, tax clearance, company registration papers, form co7 etc. If you work for someone and your sponsoring urself your pay slip, reference frm company and bank statement I enough.

18. Be sure to add fixed deposit proof, landed property proofs, tenancy agreements(if ur sponsor has a house), deed of assigment, treasury bills etc

Pheww!! That's about it. Pls ake sure u organise and arrange all documents in an orderly manner, like how I listed them, so it would be easier for them to go through.

NB...you can also add a check list which lists all documents in application. The truth is not everyone will get a visa, some are granted, some denied. If not canada or any place would be chocked up. All countries usually have a quota which dey cannot exceed yearly, so make sure u pray hard and work hard to be granted.

@All concerning the refusal of TRV by CDHC its on the ground of ties to naija. I think what CDHC is looking at that critacally because most self sponsors are married and they are the ones they really respond to on the other hand they also respond to those that are been sponsored by thier parents.
and note that if u are filling thier questionier dont agree that u have anybody in canada. My opinion though.
but lets look at the bright side when you get here u will see that its just shakara they are doing because they know that nobody is coming back frm naija rite here there are alot of illegal immigrants.

yes u can be refused TRV based on that what you should have done was to include the original WAEC certificate
For ur information u can be refused TRV on any ground

I sent a mail to the int'l admission center of the sch I applied to to confirm the news on their website that students can now defer their admission on some grnds and I was told yes. Based on the fact I was denied medicals and my documents were returned.

Here is part of my mail(qstn) to the sch:
"Will I automatically have a seat for next fall if I reapply?
Will I pay another application fee?
Will the tuition fee I've paid already be held onto till September 2013?"

Here is the sch's reply:
"Yes you will have a seat if you reapply. You will not need another
application fee. We have already issued your refund, so in November you
will be required to pay the tuition again"

"... if you want to start in September 2013 and think that you have new circumstances to improve your visa application, please
submit a new application after November 15th".


@ NL's @newca, ebugirl,phemmy, and all guru's in the house, kindly advice how I can re package my Visa application for nxt fall 2013.

Can I use same sponsor (my sis) wit good amnt of money in her personal acc dz time as dat was 1 of d loop holes I saw in my previous application or I use another of my sis wit her huBby co sponsoring me.

greetings to you all I am very happy to see how strong the bond is in the house, for those of you that has done your medicals dont worry your TRV is guarantied that is CDHC shakara becos thats how I was delayed but not denied it is well when you get to canada you will understandthey are just doing shakara for us. For those of you arranging your documents please try and ensure the rite docs are in place. for I have come to believe that CDHC likes too much paper

I applied in dec 2011 for march and I submited my application via VAC on 5th Jan 2012, my medicals was sent on 9th feb. 2012 but I was alerted by VAC on the 23rd of march 2012 so I was instructed by CDHC to extended my start date to july which I did and my visa was issued on 22nd of may
