GOODSKIN:Did you just create this throwaway yesterday with the sole intent of looking for a husband? Do you think your pics would attract that many responsible men who want a serious relationship? Please get a life, stop spamming Nairaland. We are not primitive people! |
tommyken:To be brutally honest, yes, yes, Go for it. You have a stable source of income so why waste your own time. You're very matured to proceed thither. I am just about your age and I am also getting married this year, even though I don't really have much, so you're not alone. It makes no sense, imo, postponing getting married in the quest to "save up extravagantly" for the sunny day --- you see men in their late 30s and 40s paying kindergarten school fees. Madness, haha, man, that's bullshit! No time, Ogbeni, wife this woman sharperly, abegi, look to God, trust him for provision, and then see how God blesses you with what you need extravagantly. Edit: And besides, who has bewitched fellows? Why do folks think that an opulent fellow cannot go insolvent, even with good financial acumen for reasons beyond his control, yes, even after saving up for the so-called sunny day? It is vain to toil day and night looking for bread to eat says Holy writ for the Almighty gives his beloved rest. |
EVarn:Honestly, I wish this write-up could get to our lawmakers!! No one should monopolized power. All regions should get to decide who rules them. |
EVarn:Good points you have there. I could not agree more. Winning across board shows love for the political candidate unlike winning big states with a large population. |
rottennaija:It would reduce the effects of bloc votes given by a particular region with a large population at the expense of the whole population who are voting for someone else. |
You'd see a politician win one or two very large local government areas (maybe because his kinsmen hail from there, or the rigging was orchestrated perfectly and the sheer number of voters in that region didn't help matters) in his state or country, and then as a result, he has the popular vote even though a larger part of the state don't want him. This is not healthy for our infantile democracy. Methink a politician should be elected to delicate positions like governors and president because he's able to pull massive votes up north, down south, far west and also to the east. This is not a refrence to the recent election per say. We don't want a politician who's only loved by his kinsmen, we should set aside this popular vote system abegi because it doesn't help us. California alone in the last US election gave Hillary, I think 2M vote and she got the popular vote by I think 2 million votes, too, and that's where the problem lies. Godfathers in Nigerian politics especially at the governorship levels have clung to this loopholes in Nigerian since winning big (and rigging by implication) in key local government areas clinches the ticket for another four years of tyranny, mis-rule and looting. If the popular votes system is set aside, it would be extremely difficult (they'd be no center of gravity to hit, or put more differently, it would be more expensive for these democracy-thieves to carry out their aim because they'd have to right more local government areas) or what do you think? |
Mightymanna:You mean Ganduje is finished? |
Jiang:As a matter of truth, I'm talking from experience having lived in the north for 17 years. Besides who made the agreement with the northerners? There was no such agreement, and a typical northerner would just ask, "Shi muslimi me?" Since he's not a Muslim, they wouldn't vote for him. Inzabi, Kaffiri, wade baya sallah? Haba, sir, why would they want to vote Osibanjo or any other Southern politician when the likes of Kwankwaso, Ganduje, Tambuwal, and Elrufai are on the ballot? On the other hand, there's nothing wrong with that, this is a free world and people should be free to make their choices based on religious, emotional, scientific, and logical convictions, nothing wrong with that. Whether your decision is purely borne out of tribe or religion, and not competence, to be honest, nothing wrong with that. The northerners, in my opinion, have done no wrong, but then just tell yourself the truth. |
Nyamuriflathead:Do you know who I'm supporting in this election? No, you don't, so why conclude I'm rooting for Atiku? Is it wrong to query the wrong mindset of folks who believe the highest political office should be held by a northern muslim at any cost? |
Gpea:Yinmu, no be igbos wey I know? Igbos know what they stand to lose from Nigeria. Do you have any idea how many igbos are scattered all over Nigeria, and as they migrate to various places and villages, they'd often carve out a place for themselves: doing business and making good profit. Do you think that lot of people would sacrifice their own personal interest for Biafra? |
Jiang:Don't be too presumptuous, man. You must say that tongue-in-cheek, right? A northern muslim would abandon another northern muslim to vote in an infidel? My friend wake up from your slumber, you must be a joker!!! |
There has been this belief that the north would reciprocate the goodwill if the SW votes in GMB. However, going by the recent polls and the opinion of any sane Northern, that's far from the case. In fact, just today I heard not one or two high profile northerners voice disappointment in the SW's votes, and of course, no non-northern ever wins the presidential election without splitting the northern votes. If Kwankwaso or El rufai or Tambuwal or any other high profile northern vies for the presidential position, forget that shit, no sane northern (with the way they think and all that) would vote against him, and these guy's votes are massive, I mean really massive. Many, many years of northern rule, Naija which way? |
I have 2 prepaid visa, one $71.25 and the other $10 and I'd love to cashout the fund. The problem has been my card issuer-- they keep rejecting the transaction (I've been trying to exchange the fund for Naira on Sendvalu.com, worldremit.com) and as I read on my prepaiddigitalsolutions dashboard "transaction not permitted." Seems they don't permit their prepaid card on certain merchant websites. Any site that allows prepaid card for Naira? Or allow me to exchange $ for Naira through PayPal (the card works flawlessly through PayPal)? Thank you! |
APCsupporter:Ai badan ku kedai Buhari zai Chi zaben nan ba ai!! A 2003, 2007, 2011 mutanen arewa basu zabe Buhari ba? Ya Chi zaben mutanen arewa ai? Ama bechi zaben ba!!! |
Withdrawing my Payoneer funds directly to my bank account will cost me $15 (that's Payoneer withdrawals fee). Withdrawing through Payoneer MasterCard would cost atleast $9 and atleast 2 weeks of wait time, so what do I do? This is the breakdown. I would have to go collect the card in the state capital and that would cost me $4 ( If I send someone I get charged $2). I cannot withdraw up to $75 at once because of 20K withdrawal restrictions on ATMs so I would have to initiate the transaction twice or thrice which would cost me more ...looks like Payoneer MasterCard is a fund-drainer but what should folks do? Any ATM that allows lump sum withdrawals with Payoneer MasterCard and a very good rate? |
In a mother’s womb were two babies. One asked the other: “Do you believe in life after delivery?” The other replied, “Why? Of course. There has to be something after delivery. Maybe we are here to prepare ourselves for what we will be later.” “Nonsense,” said the first. “There is no life after delivery. What kind of life would that be?” The second said, “I don’t know, but there will be more light than here. Maybe we will walk with our legs and eat from our mouths. Maybe we will have other senses that we can’t understand now.” The first replied, “That is absurd. Walking is impossible. And eating with our mouths? Ridiculous! The umbilical cord supplies nutrition and everything we need. But the umbilical cord is so short. Life after delivery is to be logically excluded.” The second insisted, “Well I think there is something and maybe it’s different than it is here. Maybe we won’t need this physical cord anymore.” The first replied, “Nonsense. And moreover, if there is life, then why has no one ever come back from there? Delivery is the end of life, and in the after-delivery there is nothing but darkness and silence and oblivion. It takes us nowhere.” “Well, I don’t know,” said the second, “but certainly we will meet Mother and she will take care of us.” The first replied “Mother? You actually believe in Mother? That’s laughable. If Mother exists then where is She now?” The second said, “She is all around us. We are surrounded by her. We are of Her. It is in Her that we live. Without Her this world would not and could not exist.” The first said: “Well I don’t see Her, so it is only logical that She doesn’t exist.” To which the second replied, “Sometimes, when you’re in silence and you focus and you really listen, you can perceive Her presence, and you can hear Her loving voice, calling down from above.” https://old.reddit.com/r/Christianity/comments/ane18p/a_hungarian_writer_explained_the_existence_of_the/ |
Airforce01:Looks like many toddlers have hijacked your thread. Nairaland, but not just Nairaland, Nigerians, need to have their faculties checked and examined because it looks like many folks spewing gibberish here are sick upstairs or something because I don't understand... I cannot, for the life of me, fathom one, even one good reasons why you are getting attacked for enjoying your baby's smile. What a world!!! If you want to post stuffs like this, post it here: old.reddit.com/r/daddit And see the upvotes, and mang oher subreddits I'd spare you here. |
abduljabbar4:I agree, Nairaland doesn't do justice to the Nigeria vote in any way because of the demographics, just kind of trying to catch some fun. |
awelekiti:I support neither politician. I didn't duplicate Buhari's name, isn't the username different? |
dollytino4real:Please "like" him so your nairaland ballot, lol, could count |
That's all. All other politicians do not stand a chance, so let the vote begin to flow in! |
Like for Kingsley Moghalu |
ticon4life:But you didn't "like" him? If I may ask, do you have your PVC? |
These Atiku nairalanders, una dey para ooo! |
Like for Muhammadu Buhari |
Like for Atiku Abubakar |
Please this e-poll is not meant for folks who don't have PVC or those who have PVC but don't intend to vote; it's not another popularity thread. We want to see how weighty Nairaland votes on major contenders actually is. Someone created a voting thread earlier today where Atiku had more than 3k votes and one Hashim Sowore surpassed Buhari sef, but that popularity thread I assume, consist of an overwhelming number of disenfranchised voters. So guys, vote for Your favourite politician here if and only if you have your PVC and you intend to vote |
GreatResearcher:Many people who were crazily in love checked out later in their marriage while some who signed the dotted line for greedy reasons remained faithful for one reason or the other. Some people endured their marriage while other divorcees never thought they'd divorce. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying a good intention is necessarily a recipe for a good/lasting marriage but if the possibility of divorcing your spouse is that high, I honestly have no words for you. In fact, if you think you'd check out eventually (be it just 5%) just before getting married I honestly have no words for you. You can get married to whomever you want and has all the qualities and attributes you want in a woman, just take a walk down the street, a social get together or something; yes, even in the church (there are atheist in the church, too). Keep on blowing your trumpet, there's still hope. Live your life since you believe God does not exist, but, like Solomon said, for all this God would bring us to judgement. |
GreatResearcher:It could be a forever thing? Oh, okay, but you shouldn't harbour the intention of checking out later; marriage starts from the heart. |
GreatResearcher:I'm not against your incentives for the lady who chooses to marry you; I see nothing wrong with that. Greed could be involved, but there's nothing in nature that suggests that greed cannot birth love. On the contrary, I'm against your decision to check out. You want a kind of marriage not the marriage the God of Heaven sees as marriage. Even pagans in days gone bye, where nothing of God is known; God still sees it as a legal union unlike yours. To be honest, guy, bury your head in shame. |
GreatResearcher:Marriage is a sacred institution created by God Almighty, not a business venture like you suggested, where a man joins to his wife in holy matrimony to the glory of God. |
