Amina Zakari: "I'm not his niece, I'm not his cousin and on this job I've been appointed by President Goodluck Jonathan since 2010 and prior to that I was SA to President Obasanjo and I've done my work conscientiously over the years as a patriotic citizen of Nigeria and I don't think I should be distracted now that elections are coming.
BBC But what exactly is your relationship with President Buhari?
Amina Zakari President Buhari is my president, as everybody else's president. He's not my uncle. He's not my cousin, as is being claimed. That's all I can say.
I've been on this job since 2010 and this same president lost an election. The people that are complaining have worked closely with me. They have not in any way accused me of any wrong doing over the years.
I have done my work diligently over the years. I was in charge of political party monitoring for 4 years, from 2010 to 2014. There was not a single scandal to my name and nobody can claim to have paid me or asked me to do anything wrong. And if they have, I would love them to come forward and prove it to the nation and to the world at large. But PDP and Biafrans say Buhari is dead and what we have now is Jibril Al sudani. So how is someone from Sudan related to a Jigawa princess? |
Education › Re: Advice: Should I Go For Medicine Or For A Masters? by Sufisunni: 8:36pm On Jan 05, 2019 |
iHart: If you start a post graduate study in Nigeria without a lecturing job or any prospect for a lecturing job, that is when you will know that it does not worth it. Don't listen to those lecturers advising you to go for MSc and PhD, they are not helping you. They just want you to come so they can supervise you and increase their points. They know you have little of no chance of getting a lecturing Job. I have a colleague who went to UK for MSc, he is now teaching in a secondary school in Lagos. Another friend went to Greenwich for MSc, he is back in Nigeria managing his dad's hotel.
But I will advise you to go out and start a business after your BSc. Just forget the two, this life is too short to spend it all in school, unless you have a strong passion to acquire more knowledge. You nailed it all. PhD is more advantageous to those already in lecturing jobs, even while you are doing your PhD you are entitled to promotion; you come back and you keep moving ahead to professorship. But, someone that doesn't have any job, after PhD you start looking for one, if lucky to get one, you would be given lecturer 2. Your take home is not up to 150k. Medicine looks brighter, you might even go to developed countries and be paid very well. |

chieyine: @Naija Politico
Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau has granted pardon to four prisoners serving various jail terms in the state in the spirit of the New Year.
The governor made the disclosure in a statement signed by Mr Mark Longyen, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity on Tuesday in Jos and made available to Naija Politico. “The decision was taken after consultation with the State Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy.
“It is in exercise of the powers conferred on the governor under Section 212 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended).
“The sentences of three of the convicts were commuted to absolute pardon, while the third convict had his life sentence commuted to 21 years imprisonment,” he said.
According to the statement, Abdullahi Musa, Rev. Samson Bisat and Chikwu Anadi were granted absolute pardon while Emmanuel Ochiba who was sentenced to life imprisonment has been commuted to 21 years jail term.”
Lalong called on the people of the state and the Nation at large to commit the year 2019 to sobriety, penance and forgiveness.
He urged them to pray fervently for divine intervention in the affairs of Plateau and Nigeria.
“No challenge under heaven is immune to the power of prayers,” he added.

A good setting out; more importantly soil bearing capacity and foundation level established up to German level stage often cause cracks, because with time, it settles differentially. I have seen machine moulded blocks used in building cracking too! Though, all mixing ratios being equal, machine moulded blocks will be better off than manual moulding. As the saying goes: when we build, let us think that we build forever! |

Nigerian masses are totally in dilemma on whom to choose between Buhari and Atiku. Buhari, seems not to be corrupt, but he isn't in charge of his government. He doesn't willing support corruption but his allies are having a field day milking Nigerians in any possible way. Atiku on the other side, is a certified looter and I don't really know what he can do to salvage the situation. His family alone, is enough to fat feed on our commonwealth; four wives with many children and grandchildren, definitely he will even need more money than even Buhari.
I pity even those supporting both Buhari and Atiku here. They pay you peanut as political economy e-warrior, but amasse billion of naira for themselves. Anyway, I understand the poor people's problem. Nigeria political establishment ensured that Nigerian citizens are totally held below poverty line, with that when ever they need them to do dirty jobs, they will readily available with the smallest amount. |

Beacuse for sure, south south might likely not give it a serious fight since the region had produced president not quite long, but could align with Igbos in 2023 |
