Koph: Nominate Electrician General - 341111 as it is less competitive and its being sponsored by virtually all the states. With it you have all the visa subclasses. Best of luck boss! 1 Like |

Bros @AdeyinkaSeun....Ehya! I dey feel your pain, different people with different experiences sha. I guess your expectations were just too high nii and those folks you said they used to come online to vomit the truth, the truth is they can't stand we Nigerians in anything you can think of so there situations would always be like that. I am very sure the blackouts you mentioned were planned blackouts and announcements must have been made 3 months before that day(maybe you missed the announcement nii) and majorly the blackout will be for maintenance. My advice for people coming, don't say because my friend or family is in Melbourne, I must live in Melbourne. No, it doesn't work that way.... Do your research and look for where opportunities are for you before finally leaving Naija. What works for them might not work for you. As advised by Bellong and others, try another cities.... Goodluck! Boys are not smiling in Naija o. 4 Likes |

Logictinz: After making payment you will get a mail to acknowledge the payment and that will serve as the receipt. In 3-5 days after, you will get your reference number and wait for the outcome which takes + or - 12 weeks. The MPA is not mandatory, in fact you don't need it. Once you are able to get a positive outcome from them, just gather your documents again for DIBP to claim your point for your work experience. Before now, during MSA TRA used to reduce number of years of work experience but they don't now. I guess they might do that during MPA. What you get now is when you are qualified to take on the nominated occupation and not when you started the nominated occupation. |

Denny2017:Permit me to add to your comment........ IMO, since February 2017, TRA way of assessment has changed. TRA don't assess skills / work experience during MSA again, if you want them to assess your work experience.... They expect you to lodge Migration Point Advice after your positive outcome which is another AUD 600, that's why one can still claim maximum points from higher qualifications. TRA positive outcome statement....... "You are eligible to take the job from XX/XX/XXXX (the date you completed your certificate 3/4)". For example the gap might be 12 years till date and you have just 6 years work experience because of your BSc or B. Eng programme. TRA will just verify the 3 years work experience requirements and make their decision base on your evidences. For you to now get your maximum points on work experience, you have to prove to DIBP what you had claimed in your EOI. |

ugonology:Ehya, getting it done now won't help as your eligibility to work in the nominated occupation will start from the date of completion. |

ugonology:You are good to go if you can show evidences for your work experience in the Bricklaying and Masonry occupation and you will have to show at least OND certificate in related qualifications. Don't worry about your BSc for now, you will use that to claim 15 points with DIBP. 1 Like |

Clearupspills: Bruv, did TRA actually contacted you after submitting your application... You are very lucky then o because it's against their policy to this. IMO, I guess you have submitted documents that have shown diff company numbers and they really want to confirm which one is the correct one. Normally your appointment letter, probation letter, upgrading letter, salary increment letter and recognition letter if any suppose to be same letterhead, and the contact details you give in the employer template suppose to be the same with the ones on the letterhead. If the company doesn't have website to clarify this, I think the company ID card, your tax clearance ID, in some cases your company products and so on can be useful here. Just think of any source that is not directly from you, third parties documents or what they can verify on their own. TRA hardly do this bruv, I need collect that your bathing soap o!!! |

NB: You don't need to notarize ur documents for TRA assessment again. They now accept scanned copies of the original documents and the submission is done electronically. |

@santity100 and @WestAfrica Your post on trade works........ I will be moving to Australia very soon as a Fitter - Mechanical Fitter / Fitter Operator. I have HND in Mechanical Engineering and got assessed as Fitter General. I want to inquire, if I want to be practicing Carpentry and Painting, do I need to get licensed or I can just be cutting jobs as I don't have certificate for these professions but I have the knowledge. Secondly my spouse is into Fashion Designing (Dressmaker / Tailoring), she did One Year Certificate programme at one Fashion Designer outlet here in Nigeria and she has been practicing for over 4 years post Certificate Course and like 10 years in all. My question is, will they equate the local certificate programme to Certificate III as the outlet has no transcripts, syllabus or modules and so on. Though we submitted all available evidences to DIBP. Lastly, is it legal to be doing her sewing at home as she intend buying a sewing machine for cutting jobs at home o. Hope that won't be an issue. Thanks! Modified: What brands of car is advisable to go for. I have been looking out for a car with low mileage and good fuel economy on autotrader. Can I get a better one for AUD1200 - 1500 and what is the cost of rego. State is NSW. |

dunsinogundele: IOM always state 20kg in order to avoid over weighing. The 23kg on Emirates website means plus the actual bag weight and aside the weight, the bag dimensions matter. For Emirates it's 25 * 19 * 14 inches |

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I can see you have done a very good job by doing one or two findings. The problem here is that you are trying to apply as "SELF EMPLOYED" which is not easy I must confess because it requires a lot of paper works. You can only use Recognition of Prior Learning had it been you are a dressmaker / tailor working with a registered / well established Fashion Designer outlet (not just 'abele' tailor o) and this will still require you to show offer letter, pay slips, and so on. Three years of your work experience here can suffice for the AQF Certificate III or IV irrespective of your formal qualification. I don't think getting a reference letter to back your CAC registration will fly. If you check TRA MSA guideline booklet it goes beyond reference letter. Your Certificate III you are yet to finish still requires you to have 2 years work experiences and how are you sure they will assess the programme to equal AQF Certificate III. I am being candid here because I know of someone who had tried it but just couldn't put together all the required documents. To claim SELF EMPLOYED with TRA no be moi moi ooo. I will advise you to download the TRA MSA guideline booklet and read about the requirements for claiming SELF EMPLOYED. Best of luck Sis..... |

@tutubabe To start with, what occupation did hubby nominate because I read he got assessed by TRA under Mechanical Engineering Technologist. This is TRA has kind of broken down the occupations into their area of specialisation, so it's not necessarily you nominate Mechanical Engineering Technician which I believe that is what you wanted to type..... TRA has so many occupations just that you will find many under CSOL. According to TRA MSA guideline booklet, it's clearly stated that make sure your application is decision ready because they will not contact you for more information or any clarifications. They expected that all contacts you are giving them are correct and up-to-date. Many schools have portals but the contacts on those portals ain't going through so if you are to be assessed by TRA you really need to get functional contacts because if they try to contact your school or employer and is not going through.... They don't have the time to contact you, they will just conclude you didn't do your homework well.. To be assessed by TRA is very easy because all it requires is paper work and packaging but at the same time you need to have all they are requesting for. They have checklist and they will advise you to attach the checklist to the front page of your application for submission, that means they expected you to assess yourself before the application gets to them. The only section you have the freedom to express yourself is your job descriptions or duties in your own words, every other sections of the application is provision of documents with proofs. TRA is skills and qualifications assessment, so they have to be related and there has to be a minimum of one year work experience. You can opt for the review which is AUD 900 and it's refundable if you get positive outcome. Make sure you work on those points mentioned and look into other things because they are very funny. You don't expect them to write everything at once or probably they have just started with you by the time they go further than this.... there are still more because most times TRA gives negative outcome base on jobs/skills not related to qualifications. I wish you best of luck in your review. Thank God application is electronically submitted now so the submission will be faster if you have all your documents ready. 1 Like |
