utcheylee,
He has to assess his skills and qualifications, though he will be assessed as a secondary applicant so much is not expected of him to get a positive outcome.
With a positive outcome in assessment and a proficiency score in any English test he is good to go. I even read somewhere that a Functional English letter will suffice. |

utcheylee: Thanks, I have told my husband he will write Pte test to make up for the 5point And he has to do assessment too. Why not try to ace your English proficiency test. That would save him the stress and it's far cost effective. |

bellong: Every adult attached to the application must have a functional English. To proof her functional English, she can either write English test or get a letter from her university that she was taught in English. Oga bellong, do we need to get her (spouse) transcripts too or certificates will suffice with the letter. |

Tnot: I really commend the immense contribution the all the guru to the success of this thread.
As my first post on this thread after reading up to date, i have 2 option that i want you to help me look into the points and feasibility.
1st option is:
Age: 28 ND: Civil Engineering (2009) HND: Civil Engineering (2014) NYSC: 1 Year (2015)
2nd option is:
Age: 28 ND: Civil Engineering (2009) Experience: 3 Year
Since ND is equivalent to AQF + 2 year working experience, does that makes it 5 year experience(3+2)?
The 3 year working experience above, i will try if i can get employment letter from the construction company i did my SIWES and 1 year I.T which my dad is a senior staff of. I'll advice you to look at the SOL & CSOL first and try to nominate possible occupations because most Civil Engineering occupations are Associate Diploma/Advanced Diploma which is equivalent to our HND (on paper) or BSc / BTech depending on the school you graduated from. |

nkechima: Thank you soooooo much......I can't just appreciate you enough dis moment......it feels good when you knw their is someone out there watching your back...... I also want to credit the efforts of every individual who kept the thread alive...Thanks to each and everyone of you. I asked the question on behalf of someone..... He actually want to use Trade Test Certificate obtained years back, he said trade test don't have transcripts rather a little booklet that State the year exam was written e.g plumbing, level 2&3 2005 and level 1 2006( sited that as an example). To him level 3 is counted as a year, level 2 a year and level 1 a year, altogether 3years. According to him the Certificate is variable since its a federal Government thing so he planned to scan and send the little booklet that looks like international passport with Federal government seal. Now that OND is counted as Certificate 3 I dont know how to explain that to him. I pray something good come out of Trade Test Cert........ He's on my neck since I mentioned OZ migration scheem to him. I don't really know much about Trade test really hope Trade Test Cert. is counted as OZ Cert 3 Ordinarily, on paper... Our Level 3 suppose to be equal to AQF 3 and ND to AQF 5 but by evaluation our ND is equal to their AQF 3. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_Qualifications_FrameworkYou can read up what to do in a situation where you can't provide an academic transcript on TRA website FAQ. |

nkechima: Happy Sunday to Guru's in the house. Please, I have a question eventhough I don't receive answers to previous ones ( Don't want to feel like an outcast). I still feel like asking because I have the feeling that some one will come to my aid dis time around.... My question.... Can one claim years of experience with on the job training....... Maybe I have 2-3 years on the job training, can I claim 5 points with the above experience?.... I'm a bit confused here. When they talk about certificate with 2-3 years on the job training... Is this the certificate one acquired during the apprenticeship period (2 years) or most one have the qualification then go for another 2-3years internship? Depending on the nominated occupation. The on the job training will only complement the qualifications. Say, if you have 5 years.... 2-3 years will be deducted and the remaining will serve as your work experience. The certificate 3 is equivalent to our OND, if not for the standard of our technical colleges..... The certificate acquired would have suffice. My opinion though.... |

Nickoko: House i have B. Sc in Science Laboratory. Technology(microbiology option) and Diploma in Microbiology both from the same University.
Am currently the administrative manager of a Big water producing company. I was employed in the said factory I February 20O4 as Quality Control officer immediately after my Diploma program but promoted to administrative manager in 2008 unfortunately I have already enrolled for a science courses in B. Sc.
My closely related skill on the Csol are Laboratory manager, Quality Assurance Manager, Life Scientist and microbiologist.
thanks. Gurus am indeed grateful for all your present and pervious responses. The bitter truth is that you can't use your Diploma to apply for the 4 occupations you mentioned; they are all skill level 1 occupations. Secondly you might not be able to claim any work experience because going through the 4 occupations task descriptions - where you work...... VETESSA.... "na very hard nut to crack". You can just apply for qualification assessment and that will still require some on the job experience (here you have to tailor your experience) for you to have a positive outcome or better still do the pre-assessment stuff first. Here's a snapshot of the 4 occupations' requirements. You can browse the anzcosearch.com, vetessa and mail vetessa to inquire one or two things. My own 2 cents.......

@Nickoko
Why subclass 489. You have not added points from English proficiency which is 20 points maximum. With good scores in your English language test you can hit the subclass 189 threshold.
2014 till date is not upto 3 years so there's no way you can claim 5 points from that. I would advise, you go with option 1 - why not tell the house your course of study, the occupation you are planning to nominate and your field of work for the past 10 years because there are some occupations that require 2-3 years on the job training after your qualifications. |

Nickoko: Pls, Gurus in the house. i honestly need your best advice before i apply to VETASSESS for assessment. Here is my case on the possible outcome on point test Diploma Result(2004) or B.sc (2014) Subclass489(regional)= 10 10 Age = 25 25 Dilpoma= 10 B.sc15 Experience = 15 5 SUM 60 OR 55
Kindly give your opinion on which option will be best for me. I've a long working history because i was schooling as part-time while working as full time. unfortunately i was told i can not claim enough point for my working experience since qualification date would be considered before calculating working experience.
Please, i will appreciate the whole house sincere advice. Pls, kindly correct those typo errors so that the gurus in the house will be able to analyse your case. |

KIKIADE: I need someone to second this comment and possibly with a proof. I hope to get a soul lifting response Here are my personal opinions........ TRA can't assess your MSc but you can still claim 25 points if you go through TRA way by having 10 points for your HND and 15 points for your work experience. You can go through EA by either Assessing your MSc (2014) and forfeit 13 years of work experience OR EA can issue you AQF 7 (you can mail them or download the EA guideline to find out the number of years) via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). With this you might be lucky to claim 30 points and that's if you can put up a strong and convincing CDR. Here's TRA stand as regards recognition of skilled employment

@KIKIADE
Read the guideline from page 19-21. Though this is giving a general AQF comparison but to narrow it down to group or individual nominated occupation you can use anzcosearch.com
You can as well read experiences of applicants from expatforum.com
If you are to use MSc, I guess your work experience start date will definitely be affected.
This is for FITTER (GENERAL)

@Elixir123
HND can't be assessed as Engineering Technologist, even in Nigeria here they are not equivalent. The maximum you can get with HND is Associate Degree which is same 10 points as AQF 3 and 4.
Depending on the school he finished from, some schools HND is equivalent to AQF 3 while others are AQF 4. You can always claim points for work experience provided the experience is on the nominated occupation or closely related.
@oscarpellenchy
Are you talking about TRADE TEST CERTIFICATE from Government Technical Colleges or The London City and Guild Trade Test. whichever one, the course outline on your transcripts will determine the placing.
This is my opinion though. |

Elixir123: Hello@ Sujydee I noticed that you assessed your qualifications with TRA and not EA,is it because you have an OND /HND and not a degree? I'm asking because my hubby has an HND in Elect/Elect and we are thinking of assessing with EA.Please could you put us through on the appropriate body? Other gurus in the house ,please your thoughts as well. God bless you all. OND / HND qualifications in Engineering are to be assessed by TRA. Depending on the occupation hubby is nominating, EA might assess his qualifications as Associate Degree but it's 50/50. That was their response when I contacted them. |

bellong: SUJYDEE,
Congratulations....
Yes, DIBP generally follow recommendation of the assessing authority.
Did you use your BSc/ HND or OND for the assessment?
@Utcheylee,
Alright.. all the best. Oga bellong thanks.... I actually used both ND and HND, Mechanical Engineering. From the guidelines.... To have positive outcome : OND is equivalent to AQF 3 plus 2 years work experiences in nominated occupation OR HND is equivalent to AQF 4 without work experience. I think that's why there was no deduction in my number of years of experience. |

[quote author=Pinoralia post=47793435]Hello all,
I'm having issues making payment for PTE -A with my GTB MasterCard Naira. It has been failing till now. Everytime I try, GTB sends e-mail telling me Dynamic Currency Conversation, DCC is not allowed with my card. I do online purchases on Amazon with the same card, I paid Engineer Australia for assessment with the card.
Any suggestions, pls? Who pay for PTE recently and what card did u use?[/ quote]
You can't pay for PTE using your local cards in Nigeria, you have to buy a voucher code from any of the authorised dealers. You can send a mail to racheal@ukeas.com.ng and ask her if voucher codes are available. |

bellong: Why would anybody give misinformed advice?
Why did your contact discourage you from studying your preferred course?
Yes, it is easy to get a job in nursing as it is in demand but that should not be the reason to study such a course especially as it relates with dealing with lives. There must be passion for any course in medical profession. A time will come when you lose motivation in money but the passion for it will keep you going. Many people who entered the profession have had their licenses suspended because of errors which is as a result of no passion.
Please always ask for reasons why people give advice.
If it is accounting your interest lies, by all means pursue it. There are as many opportunities for accountants as there are for nurses. What you need is how to effectively package yourself to attract employers.
If you have such a good score in English, shy not apply for PR straight? The money you will spend processing your PR is not half of what you pay in school fees. You can get your PR before your school resumption next year.
How many years of experience do you have in accounting and are you CPA qualified? @Bellong you have spoken well We don't have to be too desperate about this Aussie thing; a billionaire once told my brother that, they prefer employing the Indians to Nigerians in abroad generally because the Indians work with passion while Nigerians are after making money. I see no reason why one would want to put an end to the career he has been building since kindergarten days and rush into another one just to get a PR. Who said Nigeria will not be great again or you won't have cause to move to another country in future or come back home and set up your own audit firm. Please, let's all have a plan. |

bellong: @Tunai,
1. Why would you want to get the sponsorship of a state without planning to live there even for 6months. I really don't know the consequences because it states that it is a moral obligation but if it is for 489, it is breach of visa conditions, deportation loading.
2. No fixed amount is being paid, it is rent assistance and family support allowance which is dependent on family income. All other support comes after two years of living here. You probably may have no need of the government handout if you get something doing on time.
3. Different strokes for different folks bro. I prefer that you come first, get a good place and the family can join you. Not good subjecting them to stress.
4. No other ways than submitting application. If you are lucky, good. I want to ask if AUD 10,000 can be sufficient for family of 4 for like four months pending the time one will settle down and get something doing. Thanks |

Now when a big club comes and offer him £150,000 a week with a transfer fee of £30M don't you think it's a win win for the club and player? The club will be willing to sell and Vardy will accept that wage ..... I don't think this will happen. They will all want to play in champion's league. Till then sha. |
