You are not the contractor and you are not a construction or metro rail engineer so where did you get your knowledge and authority from to determine what can or not physically be completed?

If Sanwo Olu delivers this project, he will be next best to LKJ in Lagos. It always baffles me how such an overpopulated city will have no dedicated train service line. How did it ever happen?
Ask Buhari?

In 1984 he cancelled the Lagos metroline project.

Nigerians are their own enemies. very pessimistic people. governor don talk 2022 but it doesn't fit into ur negative paradigm....so u must say 2022 won't work that it must be 2025.
I think you are Nigeria worst enemy, there is nothing wrong in stating the obvious, even in a western country a project at this stage of construction will virtually be impossible to complete to operation status in December 2022.

December 2022 is less than 15 months from today in that same time, they will have to complete the physical construction, lay the Railtrack, install the control and monitoring system, complete quality control and testing, buy the rolling stocking, train the operators, then handover to the Lagos government during an election campaign.

Instead of asking relevant questions from your elected leaders and holding the government to account, you will rather sit down and accept the nonsense that they spew.

11 years and counting.
If SanwoOlu actually believes that even the blue line, not both would be up and running in 2023,then he must be clowning.
Asides not being physically possible based on the level of construction so far and what is left to complete,2022 is an election campaign year that would put major funds guzzling projects in Nigeria like this sacrificial lambs for diversion of funds to campaigns and electioneering activities.
2025 is an achievable target, but 2026/27 looks the most realistic date for those lines to be up and running.
Sanwo-Olu has no clue, the project cannot physically be completed in 2022.

Result of improper planning before building.
Result of deforestation and lack of trees to hold the soil.

Deforestation is a major cause of soil erosion, perhaps the main cause. Trees and their roots provide the soil with an anchor, as well as shelter from the wind and rain. When forests are wiped out, the land becomes exposed, leaving it vulnerable to being washed or blown away by elements.

Imagine, a guy aspirering to be president but has a luxury. penthouse in Dubai.
If Atiku owning a mansion in Dubai is not bad enough, the current president sending all his children to foreign universities and also patronising foreign healthcare facilities is even worst. The most important resource of any nation is its human capital. The ability for a country to mass produce well educated and healthy youths are the foundation of any successful nation.

It actually helps people doing business with China. You can have your naira account here and then use such account to purchase your goods.

Since a lot of our imports are from there, it helps.

I await when our importers will look to China for second hand cars instead of Canada and America
Why not build Nigeria cars?

Nigeria once built 180,000 cars a year in the 1980s.

Of what use will these be if they won't initiate a war with the US and destroy the US once and for all.
If this is for deterrence, then at what cost for a country without much value to anyone.
At the end of the day,it is a stalemate at the detriment of their citizens.
Look at how South Korea is prospering and creating wealth for her citizens. When you think of South Korea, you think of Samsung, Hyundai etc but North Korea wan die on top weapons.
You should compare North Korea with Nigeria. North Korea can design and build nuclear enrichment plants on their own, despite USA sanctions, Nigeria in 60 years cannot build a simple railway line or power plant despite billions of dollars in loans and oil export.

Ok

EDIT
@sulaak
So I will explain a little bit. You seemed to misunderstand the position I am coming from. A multinational will outsource it's platform administration to a Tata or Infosys or even a Tekxperts. These are called Managed Services Providers or MSPs. These MSPs in turn hire staff to fill roles such as Junior Sys Admin or L3 Tech Support. These MSPs do hire remote staff to fill these roles. That's the level of remote I am referring to. Reddit has a subredd r/mspjobs where a lot of these small MSPs post openings. Or at least I have seen a few interesting ones there
You are trying to explain managed service support and sysadmin to me ...lol.

I am not here to debate the benefit of Sys Admin, I am advising you in this day and age if you intend to be in demand, learn how to develop and product management. A good site to gauge the skills in demand is toptal - https://www.toptal.com/

Business product like? SpeaK in lay man terms.
It is what you produce as a product or service and sells to other organisations that they can use to produce their own product or operate as a business.

One skill that is in demand and pays very well is Product Managers or Product Owners.

Forget all this.
These yoruba people are very smart, one will wonder why they're clamoring for southern unity. There are always the one at the forefront organizing and attending all the southern governor meetings. That's because they are after something, forget all these southern agenda. The southern president that the youruba are shouting is for the SW not SS/SE. The igbo leaders has known their game plan reason why most are absent. Why will Umahi be there when he has his own ambitions to Norture. Make everybody getat
This is the time for Igbos to also be smart and sophisticated. If Yorubas want the presidency, then they must come to an arrangement with the SS and SE, be the kingmaker and then the king.

I doubt believe the Yorubas deserve the next presidency in 2023 their complicity in supporting Buhari must be punished.

Of course you can remotely manage cloud platform remotely. That's why it's cloud!

Not sure I understand whether you are asking if SysAdmin is pretty easy. If it is, anyone would be doing it right? It's learanble and needs some effort to attain competence
A company will not employ a remote sys admin to maintain their infrastructures they will usually outsource it to a service provider such as Tata, Infosys or many of the small well-established service providers. I have never in my life heard of an organisation outsource the platform administration to a one-man setup.

Sys Adminisnistration is a pretty easy skill to learn, in my opinion, its an entry-level skill set that you should always have in your toolset, the key skills is the ability to apply logical and analytical skills to create business products.

I'll appreciate if you can recommend a digital skill that can enable me work or earn doing remote work.

Please it shouldn't be very saturated.

It should be something I can learn from watching YouTube videos, buying course on udemy or any source etc.
You will have to stand out and have skills that are in demand, there are no short cut you will have to work very hard.

I will suggest learning doing the AWS Certified Developer, Python and start coding on blockchain preferably Etherum, Cadano and Solana plaforms, all these skills are on the internet

What is your current background? A lot of people will probably ask you to dive into Development, but there is ample opportunity in System Administration (I prefer Linux but there's a lot of demand for Microsoft Windows too). Also Cloud administration is one for the future. If going Cloud, the primary preferences is AWS then Azure. GCP comes a distant third. If you want to go the cloud route I would recommend AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate as a start. U want to go Sys Admin route I would recommend Redhat's RHSCA

Of course you can still go into Development if that is your preference. There are openings in Digital Marketing but I find that a lot of Nigerians may not quite make the cut due to cultural differences. I might be wrong on that
The guy said he wants to work remotely. Can you manage a business cloud platform as a sys admin remotely, the most organisations would rather employ a full-term staff and sys admin is pretty easy?

Will be very brief and I pray this reaches the front page.
I graduated in the year 2019 from one of the foremost Universities in Nigeria, did my NYSC but after that I have been applying for job all to no avail.

During my job search, I applied for a job in a private University in February, after much delay, we did Examination in June and interview in July, I was picked as I have seen my name on the list of successful canadidate. The job is very OK and working environment superb and with a moderate salary and virtually no stress
But the thing, I have strong passion for my course, I have even applied for M. SC(1 year) in another University just to gain more knowledge, already have thesis topic and everything that I will need all through, I have already initiated how to japa through study abroad once I finish my course, now I am scared, like really scared because if the plan doesn't work out, then I will be losing a very good opportunity.

Note : I can't study my M. SC in that university because they do not have the department and equipments

Nairaland isn't a research paper. It's about time you start using your Engr Prefix to do some background research on the reason why a country with more than 90 million Nigerians living in extreme poverty has governors with private jets, send their children to foreign universities and hospitals while the local institutions are shutdown.

Nigerians living in extreme poverty now 105 million
The latest report by World Poverty Clock has shown that more Nigerians have been plunged into extreme poverty since November 2019.

The latest figure shows that over 105 million Nigerians now live in extreme poverty – from 98 million in October 2019. The figures represent 51% of the population.

Nigeria, according to the World Poverty Clock, has a total population of 205,323,520 people with 105,097,856 in extreme poverty representing 51 per cent of the population.

An individual is classified as living in extreme poverty if the person earns below $1.90 or N855
