I can't make that decision for you. I only shared what I did and my Visa was granted; which was declare and equally upload the refusal letter. ricaabrams: |
About 1 year and 2 days ago, was denied a Canadian study visa FOR THE SECOND TIME. I shared my profile and story here, then. I bring you goods news from the UK! This is not for everyone... The 2 years PGWP in the UK is currently on. Hopefully, it continues for a long period. I'm in the UK for studies and my visa was approved without heartache and 21days fasting,... Posting this here to encourage anyone that might be burdened by unjustified Canadian refusals; the UK ain't too bad. You're probably wondering if I've given up on PR? How dare I, at all! No doubt, PR is a long stretch in the UK (10 years), but this place can actually serve as a springboard! With some work experience, depending on how attractive the pay is here, I can choose to stay back or pursue Canada with a different approach (Express Entry) or Australia (points-based system). My future kids deserve the privilege of options. Whether I relocate to Nigeria in the long run or not, I'll get my PR first, legally! For now, I just wanna see the world. #EndSars |
No sir. I did not declare such to my school, as that information was not requested by the school. Assu: |
Hi guys! Congrats to all those that have gotten their visas and kudos to those that had the time to update Nairaland, it's not easy. Greetings from the UK! Lovely weather... Here's my profile: STANDARD APPLICATION AT VI Biometric/No Interview (Walk-in) - 16 Sept. 2020 Decision Email (@14th Working day) - 6 Oct. 2020 Passport Pickup Email (around 11am) - 8 Oct. 2020 Passport with Vignette picked up the same day (8th)! No non-straight-forward email and no phone interview. Highlight: I had 2 previous Canadian study refusals AND I DECLARED BOTH. I equally attached copies of the refusal letters alongside my uploaded documents. I know lots of people yet to apply would find this last piece of information useful. Thank God, thank you guys! All the best to everyone. #EndSars |
Congratulations are in order! ![]() Akchi32: |
Yes sir. [quote author=Latito442 post=91230441]So this can work? Thanks for the heads up |
I overcame this concern by simply opening a pounds sterling account. If you already have a dollar account (mine is GTB), all you need is go to the bank with a valid ID and fill 'Additional account' form. Within 24hrs you'd get your pounds sterling account number. Anyhow the pounds wants to rise or fall, doesn't change the value in your account. bayosegun: |
Oh congrats. Same here for September intake. I intend to leave all processes till July. Hopefully the embassy would have resumed by then, and it would be clear if resumption would be online or in person. adeniyy01: |
Hello all. Is there anyone here that gained a Masters admission into Robert Gordons University for September 2020? Let's link up please... |
Hi, I actually asked on behalf of a relative, I'm not very knowledgeable on how it works either, sorry. I'm sure someone on the forum can provide a better explanation for you. winner01: |
Congrats man! SISTERjSISTER: |
Okay! Thank you for the heads up. tunlex01: |
Noted! Thanks a lot! bligs: |
Thanks a million for the extra breakdown. It's becoming clearer. The course I applied for fits the bill (2yrs/skilled list). One is looking at 5-7years before PR... Okay. This gives my research focus, cause now I know what to look out for. Thanks! Can you kindly throw more light on what increases people's "luck" in getting the 491 visa before the 2yrs PGWV expires? It's very critical.. More grease to your efforts sir! tunlex01: |
Thanks so much!! Your response means a lot to me. I'll do an intensive research on the 491 Visa, over the weekend. Great direction/pointer! Please how would you suggest that a student utilizes the 2yrs PSWV? Is it by securing a job before one graduates or what angle are you speaking from please? bligs: |
Hello Bligs! Please I'm in between options, despite my research I lack concrete information to decide (I've applied to both an Australian and Uk uni for masters). Please can you expatiate on how one can attain a PR via study route, from Australia? Agents in Nigeria keep saying, when you get to Australia, you will meet your peers and learn how to get PR. 2 years PGWP is the only thing that sounds sure. A student I'm speaking with in Australia, says even if your course is under the skilled list, there is just a slim chance that you will get a PR. Same student went further to say that most persons are being asked to leave the country after studies, that Australia is not as it used to be.... I read a couple of stories on NL where people are seeming to say that what they thought they knew about the PR via study route is not what they are experiencing in Australia. Please and please, educate me on why you're suggesting the study route, is it really a better option? My alternative move is to go for the UK, and depending on the opportunities that come with the new 2yrs PGWP, I can still decide to move to Australia or Canada via Skilled immigration or EE. Please other guru's in the house, also throw more pointers for me, from your experience. I believe in the multitude of counsel.... bligs: |
Oh okay. Thank you for your response. Appreciate! Palaexpress: |
Thanks again for your response. Appreciate. SunshineD1: |
Thank you @SunshineD1 for the response. The second part of my question though: please is there a required timeline, like one has to show that it's been there for 6 months (just like when using SOA), or timeline doesn't apply to tbills (so long as its in the primary applicants name)? Would really appreciate your response! SunshineD1: |
I know no one is being payed to respond, so I'm once again KINDLY ASKING for a response to this question. Thank you in advance. Sumji: |
Please can someone kindly respond. Sumji: |
Hello everyone! Can someone kindly respond. Please, is it okay to present treasury bills certificate as "proof of funds" after getting ITA...............also, does the certificate have to be six months old? Just want to be sure of what's acceptable for "proof of funds" ......as well as the required timeline. |
Ohhh okay!! Thank you Otumbalamba! Always coming through. ![]() Otumbalamba: |
Hi fam, please a quick question for those with experience. Is the system of Australian study visa similar to that of Canada, where once you get a medical request you're almost sure of getting a grant (of course with legit documents submitted)? Or getting a medical request is not a form of assurance towards securing the grant? |
Ignore that Abdulrahmon. Looks like a scammer. He tried emailing me as well. Go through his profile... thofunmie: |
Okay. Thanks a lot man. I've actually just confirmed it as well. Otumbalamba: |
Surprised! Thank you for the info. I'll get more details. Otumbalamba: |
Hi, kindly respond. On what basis does Macquarie give the 10,000AUD which you mentioned? Does it apply to Msc? Otumbalamba: |
Thank you! Appreciate the response. obainojazz: |
Greetings everyone! I apologize in advance if this question has been asked before... I tried browsing through, but I dint find a direct answer. I have minimal work experience, just above 1 year. My goal for Australia is to gain a PR. Due to my work experience I'm not qualified for the skilled immigrant route, so I intend to achieve this via the study Visa route (masters). I've come across different information on how if one picks a course of study listed under the Skilled occupation list Australia, there is a better chance to legally integrate into the system (after the study visa expires) and continue living in Australia. On the other hand, I have 1 or 2 friends in Australia saying it's not true o, that once you're done with studies, they kick you out of the country and tell you to apply for PR or whatever from outside Australia. Everything is becoming confusing now, please can someone/people WITH EXPERIENCE enlighten me? Cause Masters is expensive, and the whole idea for me is PR. Does undergoing a masters degree in Australia still count towards staying back or PR, just like Canada? Please don't ignore. Thanks in advance. |
