Politics / Re: Ekiti Women Contribute N250,000 To Fix Deplorable Federal Roads by sunday0707(m): 4:13pm On Nov 10, 2019
kstyle2:
Come 2023, we will still make the same mistake of electing failures into power. Citizens now have to contribute funds to fix a federal road. Where on earth are we heading as a country? To know that this country is doomed, go to Kogi state and see how people still troop out to support an individual who hasn't paid salaries for over 16 months.
I marvelled at the behavior of the youngest governor and his blindfolded followers and to see people still supporting his ambition in a country where governors only embezzle in their second term. If his first term could be this miserable, I wonder what his second term would be. I would be surprised if he doesn't win. I've argued with friends and colleagues about him winning the election they keep telling me Kogi is different. I think it's high time this country ceased to exist as virtually all sectors aren't working

natural or man made disaster, be ready for reprisals. Fulani will never take death of one cow talk of 30
Let them try it, the town is aware they might and I know they are prepared. This town has suffered so much in the hands of these herdsmen, just last year my dad's 10 hectares of cassava plantation and other plantations he has worked on for over 3years was destroyed overnight by these herdsmen in the town. The king was helpless as he was threatened by army barracks leadership in Akure. This among other things done by these heartless people. They were forewarned to desist from the place and they wanted to make the place their abode. If you are not aware, a king of the town died in this sacred place and nothing happened. This is a call to them to desist from the land. When a man becomes an alien in his own community then don't take his silence for granted

Your case seem unique and I term you lucky even though I doubt the place is Lagos. Different areas with different challenges coupled with difference in work place and location. Nice move for you but don't expect everyone to be in the same shoe like you.
It's in Ondo State not Lagos. Though I'm not mobile for now but getting transport to the place isn't that difficult coupled with the presence of oride.

I feel the pain of the Fulani herdsman.

To me the Ondo state government has to compensate the Fulani man, they could have either barricaded the area or put up a caveat emptor sign.

what is this one saying, I'm from that town and if you know the havoc these people have wrecked in that community you won't be saying this.

My dad's farm about 10hectares of cassava plantation was destroyed last year, we were helpless as even the town helmsman was powerless (the king I mean so to say was incapacitated) as a result of warning from higher authorities to deal with him I learnt he was warned from army barracks in the state capital.

This was my dad's last resort as business was not bringing in much money again.imagine what was done to him if not for encouragement from mum and we children what do you think will happen, the herdsmen even threatened him that if he doesn't want problem he should forget the damages mind you in his hometown o. His own is one of many cases of such. When you go beyond your boundaries in places belonging not to you then be ready to dance to the music.

Attrocities these people have committed in the land cannot be measured and I think this will be a serious warning to them to desist from going near the land

Please where is your suppose house located and what is the proximity to your work place. If you're to rent it out, please how much is the cost of renting house there and if really cheap I guess your present rented house should be in the same area you're building your house else I will be pushed to say you built the house in a very remote area and going to work from there if you finally move in will definitely cost you more in future. Proper planning is the key. If the OP also say his salary is 40k I swear you'll still see people telling him to rent a house under the bridge and save up to build his own house from 40k salary....Confused people everywhere
the house I'm building is about 10minutes drive to my workplace, while the place I live now is about 8 to 10 minutes drive as well though not the same area but it's the state capital

fireback:

Any one year rent that cost more than my two month salary is not worth it... Presently my one year rent is less than my salary in one month. All you need do is save up to half you monthly salary for a year especially if you're still single, use it to buy land, no matter how small the land is and start building your own house. If you re buying a land in a developed place, the land might be smaller but if you're buying from a developing area, you might get a bigger space. All depends on the area you want. Am not just talking but speaking from experience.
I concur with you bro, this is what I did too, I didn't mind what friends said, and in a space of little time, my building is at roofing stage. My house rent is less than my one month salary even as I speak. Though It's only advisable if such person is still single. One can't afford to keep impressing others with big apartment when you have better responsibilities to cater for. In this 80k parents and siblings will get their own share, utilities are there, feeding and transportation likewise

I never regretted serving in the State. The experience was worthwhile , I do recommend the State to prospective corp members. Cost of living might be high in the State, but there are things we did then we used in augmenting the State allowance paid to us. I won't forget my experience as inec ad-hoc staff in the 2015 election there too. Akwa ibom ayaya. Lovely place, lovely people. 2014 batch C, Eket LG

Zoharariel:
Do not allow her abort the pregnancy. Get her mother's phone number without her consent and text her the following:

"Dear Mrs. so so & so,

Blessings of the kingdom to you & your family in Jesus name. In this end times, all have sinned & have come short of the glory of God.

Your beautiful & virtuous daughter (insert her name here e.g Ada) is pregnant and contemplating abortion.

The bible warns us against abortion in Psalm 127: 3 - "Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring - a reward from him"

I am ready to take full responsibility. May Jehovah Selichot - "God of Forgiveness" forgive us our sins - Amen!"

Now, after sending her this sms, switch off your phone for 3days and inform one of your Uncles about this incident.

You can never go to jail because of this. Ari iru eleyi ri, a fi n deru ba oloro nii. grin
your sense of humor is second to none. You made me smile with this, good morning to you

SAMBARRY:
you're not getting my point.I'm not saying SHE should be rebellious or disrespectful to her parents, but set BOUNDARIES

I'm also not saying SHE should go to a demonic church but she should pray, sieve the church she chooses whether it's in reconciliation with the bible and know whether you feel fulfilled

There are somethings that shouldn't be done for a child at a certain age

You cannot wear clothes for her,put food in her mouth or bath her.similarly you shouldn't choose church for her.let her parents allow her to exercise her brain and power of choice

NO matter how much you love a child, give her the opportunity to make her decision before you turn her to an imbecilic and over dependent child that cannot make decisions except mummy is there

The question YOU should be asking yourself is do I want to raise an emotionally matured individual, who has initiave and can make decisions for herself or do i want her to be totally dependent on me in every thing she does and making her own life decisions (EVERY African parents dream)
Almost like THEY want to think for you, determine WHERE you go,who you talk to,what type of company you should send your cv to etc
you've said it all. Thumbs up
