Take your passport, signed I-20, DS-160 confirmation page, SEVIS fee payment confirmation, visa fee receipt, passport photographs in the right size, bank statement (if applicable), scholarship/funding letter (if applicable), admission letter etc. I think these are the most important ones. At your discretion, you can go with transcript, test scores, certificates and other documents you deem necessary.

Yes, you can have your interview in Abuja and put Lagos as the document delivery place. I had my interview on Thursday (2nd June) in Abuja and my passport was ready for pickup in Lagos on Monday (6th June).

I did something similar. I know most times it takes a while to get a response on the Canada study permit application, so I completed it first and then applied for a US visa after. My US study visa has already been approved but the Canada study permit application is still being processed at the moment.

What do you want to do exactly? Do you want to change something on your DS-160?
You can't change anything on an already submitted DS-160 but you can retrieve most of the information in it and have it exported to a new DS-160 (Just click retrieve an application instead of start an application). Then you can correct whatever you want on the new one before submitting. Just make sure you update your CGI portal with the confirmation number of your preferred DS-160 before your interview.

For a start, I am new to this part of nairaland. I just stumbled upon this part in my quest to get answers to some questions bothering me.
I applied for a student visa appointment today and the date given to me was June 29, 2023.
The problem is that my school resumes on August 8, 2022.
Now, to the whole house, these are my questions:
1. Can I reschedule my Visa appointment to a date earlier before my school resumption date? If yes, please how?
2. Am yet to pay my SEVIS fee, will it affect my seeking for an early appointment date?
3. Can I pay my SEVIS fee using my local bank account?
4. Is the SEVIS fee refundable if visa is denied?
Please I will so much appreciate it if someone can be of help in answering these questions bothering me.

1. Yes, you can reschedule your visa appointment to an earlier date (Don't reschedule till you get a preferred date because there's a limit to the number of times you can reschedule with one visa fee.) You just need to keep checking till you get an earlier date. It's good that you want to join a date search group, that way you wouldn't have to check more than the allowed number of times per day. If you still don't get an earlier appointment, then you can request for an emergency appointment when it is 60 days to your program start date.

2. SEVIS fee payment doesn't affect seeking for regular appointments in any way, you just have to make sure you pay the SEVIS fee some days to your interview at most. However, if you end up needing the emergency appointment, then you'd need to pay the SEVIS fee before you request for it.

3. You can't pay using your local bank account. You can get someone in the US to help you pay, use platforms like Vesti/Pay4Me or use known people here on Nairaland (Walspring and a few others)

4. It is not, but it's valid for a year.

This is to the best of my knowledge. You can wait for others to weigh in too.

Me: Upon my return back to the country, I'd be picking up a Lecturing position in the University where I am presently a research assistant. The teaching assistantship I'd be holding during this program also provides the required training for it.

Yes you can, there's no harm in having alternatives . USA is pretty straight forward once you get your admission letter and book interview date.

if you are using the new portal it has to be Mybankstatement because it is only 2mb , if you are using gckey you can use any of the two , but most people advises mybankstatement because it's just a single document and it's easier for the VO to use.
