Ever since I've been driving, yr 2000 I've never been involve in a serious accident that would wreck the car from moving and God will not allow it to ever happen to me or any one of us ijn! But that doesn't mean accident dont happen, so if it happens it doesn't mean owner should retrieve his or her car like say the other person they want to give the car to drive is a God or an angel that won't wreck the car.

The point is owners don't like hearing too much stories like mechanical fault or something that'll make them spend the little driver delivers. Just pay them and have your peace. Shikina

Ur point is quite understandable the first guy I gave my Car to, if I had not inspected the car would have been wrecked by now till I got a new guy, not all partner will repair the car before the next date of inspection, especially if it's not something serious but don't forget that if not fixed on time by the driver, the condition of the car will.gt worse overtime and at the end of it all, it is the owner that will suffer(bear it) it, or would you agree to drive a car wrecked by another driver? My point is not all partners/drivers are like you, you can only speak for yourself never the less your type is very rare.

The three of you are suffering from the worst type of poverty known to mankind - poverty of the mind! As a result all of you are likely to remain tenants for a very long time. You think like tenants and not like people who aspire to become owners of rental property. Even if you stumble into property ownership I put it to the three of you that none of you will want a tenant that has this type of poverty-induced mindset that you are promoting. None!

The basis of the landlord-tenant relationship is the payment of rent but it is not just enough to pay rent. Beyond paying rent tenants must seek to add value to their rented apartments. You need to see the state of the apartment I rented less than two years ago. It was completely rundown, with 30-year old finishes and all. I took the apartment, paid top dollar including a deposit for damages (house wey don damage already o) and spent way more than the rent and associated fees to make the apartment habitable. I tiled the entire living area + kitchen, tiled a section of the kitchen walls, built a new kitchen cabinet with HDF wood, retiled the bathroom walls etc... I did all these things primarily for my own comfort and secondly because I want to vacate the flat in a better state than I met it. In summary I sought to add value! So no be by afterall you dey pay rent. I dey Lagos for instance and renting accommodation here is insanely competitive. No be only me get money to pay rent so why should a landlord pick me out of others to give his apartment to? All the improvements I made did not reduce me, neither will it reduce me when I vacate the apartment and hand it over to the landlord. If anything I have enjoyed growth while living here.

So I will never for the life of me understand why tenants who aspire to become landlords one day will damage a house in the name of I did this and did that so let me strip it. Half the time those things they remove end up being completely unusable elsewere. Will you want a tenant to treat your property like that 30 years after your retirement when your bones are weary and old and that property is your source of sustenance? Or is it that you think you are in competition with your landlord? If you want to compete with your landlord, go and buy land, build and invite him for the housewarming. That is how to compete with your landlord no be to spoil house. Na poor man dey tink like that

The last time my landlord came for a routine inspection after praying for me he said when I am ready to vacate his house I should go and look for a tenant like myself first before I handover his keys to him. This is the same man who barely 2 years ago was saying I should pay a kings ransom for his house or forget it

Bro die that HP idea your thinking it will distract you in yiur ultimate goal of owning a car. Focus on this ur rental very well and save rigorously by January next yr if you're still single and not paying rent you should be able to buy at least a car for yourself. Even if you're paying rent one month is enough for you to raise money for your rent. I was able to raise money for My rent in January (I.e during the winter period) let alone this period with raining season and surge.

During my rental days I was only able to finance my farm, pay children school fees, pay electricity bills, lawma, security, feeding aming others... And then also pay my weekly rentals and there was never a time I own a partner dru123 can attest to that here... I don't own any partner a dine rather some of them own me till today... I ran into one of my partner on Friday at MM1 he too is a driver na him Camry bin won kill me that yr... Same Camry na him I pay over 150k for one way offence, same Camry failed break... he asked money to pay gor parking and we shaked hands...

Buying a car from rental is easier than through HP and one can achieve that under one year if the person is serious. Like me despite all my expenses I was still able to finance other things through which I bought my own car so give and take you can still achieve something good eother ways.

Sane disadvantage rental has is what hp has also, but in hp you can't really save because of car maintenance and towards days of defaults but in rental your savings will reduce or probably run out if your partner takes away your car and you're left searching for months.

So best thing is abide bybthe agreement with your partner, pay tuem their money as at when due, maintain the car very well, if you run into trouble you can handle sort it out without getting them in to the knows, accident sort it out dont even inform them this is the main reason dru collected his car from me... I knew it but I just free am, though I fixed the car o but where I made a mistake was informing him about it supposing I know I wouldn't have told him at all. because the guy that hit my car paid me 14k and I spent a total of 24k it was just remaining the painting job which I'd already paid the painter for b4 he took the car... I'd to go collect my money afterwards.

partners don't like hearing any issues relating to their car at all even when mechanical issue comes up they don't like hearing it alllll... All they want to hear is credit alert... Most of them don't care about their workers warfare so every driver needs to understand that and deal with them wisely.

If I've to rent a car again taje for instance all you'll hear is credit alert finish... Even yiur car or me you won't even see it unless once in 3 months if you call me u go tell you say "Oga/madam I dey road" even if I dey bed I go tell you say I dey drive call me back... Next thing na credit alert you go shut up na... Even their friends will tell them sabi you dey get your weekly money?? So what again is yiur problem?

Would still request to see the car for inspection Oga, credit alert or no alert.

Pls house,experienced car user and mechanics,l have been having sleepless nite since some days now,and sorry if my write up is much.Some one advertised a tok Toyota Camry 2003 here on Nairaland. l travelled all d way from Aba to Otta in Ogun state with a car dealer and bought d car,changed oil and travelled to east with d car. Getting to Benin,the car show oil sign on d dash board with small unusual sound. we parked and checked d oil and d oil has dried up completely. We bought 4 litres of Orwando oil and added to it.After some time,d speed can not exceed 60 with out making that noise. We managed to get to Warri and park it. I called my mechanic,he said that d metal is bad and it can be changed from under,while some mechanics l called said that the engine has to be dropedd and do complete over hauling. So pls advise me on the best option to take because am completely depressed right now. And also how to approach the seller.

Op sorry to hear this, I think you should have gone with a trusted mechanic instead of a dealer.Bought a Nigerian used Toyota Camry in January this year, even though the mileage is on the high side,Car still run perfectly, went there with a mechanic and a trusted friend that knows about car,never worked on the engine except for regular servicing.
