Religion is based on faith. Whatever he has to say or rhetoric he tries to spread should not shake your faith or belief. |

Actually receiving 250 Naira as compensation is tantamount to receiving a dirty slap! PS: btw, anyone know the origin/meaning of dirty slap?? |
Police van chasing a biker - seems like a scene from an action movie. Anyway, that was VERY reckless by the biker and police could have been more aware of the situation and just put off the chase and hope to catch the biker another day. Hope no serious injuries, from the pics, the situation looks bad though. |
Afam4eva: I think there's a word for these kind of girls, "WITCHES".Me likey a gangsta winch ![]() |
Please oh - let the north face the bitter truth and realitu about BH and support all initiatives against that evil organization. It is the time to rebuild in many parts of the north - both physically in terms of infrastructure and emotionally. |

Chei...was this an accident.....a bus with soft drinks as cargo exploding sounds really strange. |
coogar: .. talking out of your arsë yet again .It is very difficult to have a civil discussion with you..... has life in the UK made you so bitter? Come back to 9ja my friend... we may be 'poor" and as you insinuated "I have never been to an airport" but at least i have peace of mind in my economic situation . Your friend (obiadah) uses all caps, while you use profanity to enforce your arguments... it is hard to engage in meaningful dialogue in such a situation.Take care my friend. I enjoyed my discussion with you. |
there are racially segregated communities in the UK.... you may be in denial..... there are many communities where there are mostly South Asians or Africans or Jews or Polish etc..... just the same as it is in the US..... like i said it is by individual choice and not institutionalized. Read up on the HBCUs - they do NOT discriminate and were created to give opportunities to minorities. Minorities form 90% of the graduate enrollment in many ivy league technology and sciences schools. There are equally racial challenges in UK as there are in the US, there is no difference, but i give the edge to the US Give a minority the number 1 job in your UK and then we'll talk.... ![]() |
coogar: the UK is 100% better...LOL - the same UK that is branding the British man as a "Nigerian terrorist". I do agree that UK is up there in terms of racial progress (it is probably leading in Europe) but it is not above the US. When they vote a minority (black man) to be their leader then we can have this debate.... PS: there is nothing like an all black school in the US. There are racially segregated communities..... it a phenomenon even in the UK.... and in either case it is by individual choice and not by government design. |
seedord247: Yea.. Gotcha..Ok - isn't that a great thing, I'm not sure i get your point? The school may look like crap but still have quality. We also have Nigerians in various great educational institutions. |
@coogar btw, in your opinion, which country(ies) has it better in terms of race relations and racial equality. |
funnyx: But coogar, these father figures committed crimes isn't it?Precisely. It ends up being a vicious cycle. In the end, both sides have valid arguments. |
coogar: hopefully, this link would convince you....That's a very good link , thank you for that. It does give credence to some of your arguments I agree. However, I still stand but what I say, no crime and there will be no time served..... African Americans can follow the examples of their Africans diaspora and live a crime free life and earn an honest living. We can agree to disagree I believe. ![]() |
seedord247: shut up there.. have you been to prison before?Thank you my friend, you have just validated my point - those Nigerians were incarcerated for committing a crime and not the colour of their skin. There are MANY Nigerians working in the US as doctors, engineers, bankers, software programmers etc....repping themselves, their family and their heritage/country well..... why are they not locked up?? PS: i do not think there is a need to tell me to shut up. We are allowed to debate on NL in a civil manner ![]() |
coogar: it has plenty to do with raceI would like to believe you and so I am requesting that you send me your sources of this statistic that you have posted. Please note, it is not a personal attack, I merely want to educate myself. I am not denying that there are no race challenges in the US but I believe they are leading the world in terms of racial equality efforts. As a side note, it is also impressive that they have elected a black man (not once but twice) as president. |
coogar: but these people also get incarcerated....That is not true ..... the prison systems keep records of all incarcerated individuals and you can look it up there are very few Nigerians. The numbers are very few. Yes there are many 'black people' that are in jail but they are mostly African Americans and not Nigerians (or other Africans) or any other dark skinned ethnicities. It's very simple - no crime, no time . It has nothing to do with race. |
@cooger and @obiadah777 So because I live in a 'poor' city in 9ja it makes all my arguments invalid? What logic is that? Irrespective of where I live why can't we debate on the topic in a civil manner and with courtesy? Anyways, here's my response.... there are many African immigrants living and gainfully employed in the US. Likewise many 'dark skinned' South Asians living and working in the US. Why are they also not disproportionately incarcerated - because according to your theories they should be jailed because of their skin pigmentation. PS: the "innocence project" efforts are race - neutral. They fight for cases of all wrongfully incarcerated individuals irrespective of race. Please read about their actions on their website. |
obadiah777: NEVER MIND RULE NUMBER 11 YOU SOUND LIKE ONE OF THOSE KEYBOARD WARRIORS WHO 'KNOW' MORE ABOUT AMERICA THAN PEOPLE THAT HAVE ACTUALLY LIVED THEIR DESPITE YOU NEVER HAVEN STEPPED OUT OF YOUR LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF SURULERE. IN FACT I DONT THINK YOU HAVE EVER TRAVELLED TO IKEJA OR THE ISLAND.Like I said, rule # 11 is there for a reason. I cannot read what you write in all caps, it gives me a splitting headache. So if you want to converse with me please abide by the rules..... it's just a friendly request. |
obadiah777: QUESTION FOR YOU. HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO AMERICA IN YOUR LIFE ?Read (and re-read) rule number 11. If you have difficulty understanding it please let me know and I will be glad to explain it to you further the best way I can. |
coogar: proven to have committed? the white folks get a slap on their wrist and the blacks go straight to prisons. you really don't know your numbers. explain to me how coloured people that make only 30% of the american population are about 70% of the prison population?Again, it is not about race.....if you do not want to do the time do not commit the crime. Wake up and smell the roses my friend. People are not incarcerated because of the "colour of their skin"...... where did you read/hear this? |
