Politics / Re: Construction Of 3050MW Power Plant In Taraba: Fashola Opens Talk by Super1Star: 7:41pm On May 07, 2016 |
The Niger Delta Avengers on Angels of Doom should please keep bombing the Gas pipeline. It will increase the pace of development of other source of power. North gets its power from Shiroro and Kainji Dams. They will soon add mambila dam to it. SW is getting its power from Kainji and Egbin. Egbin can run on both coal and gas. Who will the gas pipeline affect MOST? Your guess is as good as mine 4 Likes |

The Mandela Washington Fellowship is the flagship program of President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) and a key component of President Barack Obama’s commitment to invest in the future of Africa. The White House developed this initiative in recognition of the critical and increasing role that young Africans are playing in strengthening democratic institutions, spurring economic growth, and enhancing peace and security in Africa. Speaking at a special gathering in Abuja, U.S. Ambassador James F. Ambassador Entwistle congratulates the Nigerian cohort of the 2016 Mandela Washington Fellowship. “Our goal was to select a diverse group, both geographically and socio-economically, representing all Nigeria has to offer,” said Ambassador Entwistle. “You represent the best of Nigeria’s youth and the future of the country. Your selection says a lot about who you are as young leaders and the level of impact you are having on your communities as entrepreneurs, civic leaders, public servants, and champions of renewable energy,” he added. On the list were over 90 outstanding young Nigerians including former beauty queen/MBGN 2000 Dr. Matilda Kerry, she has worked consistently to improve the lives of underprivileged children via the George Kerry Life Foundation; Adebola Williams, co-founder of Red Media who has set an indelible standard in the world of media and PR via the Future Awards, YNaija and more; Otto Orondaam who founded Slum2School which is now one of the largest volunteer driven non-profits in Nigeria. Congrats to everyone selected! Since 2014, 86 Nigerians have participated in the Mandela Washington Fellowship. martyns303: His crime is those transactions were not reported to the necessary quarters as expected by law. Banks give rendition of various reports to NFIU. EFCC and CBN on daily, weekly and monthly basis. Some banks may have intentionally removed the transaction from the report and which is a crime on its own and it is also fraudulent in nature, apart from aiding and abetting a fraud. All what the bank needed to do is just report. Whether the regulatory bodies are using the reports or not, it is not the bank's business and headache. 3 Likes |

I am sure this respected OP on NL, woke up on the wrong side of bed this morning. Whether Saraki is being witch hunted or not is immaterial. The bottom line is even the blind could see that all the crimes brought against him are too weighty. When he was stealing those monies, did he considered that that money could have saved someone's father from dying from road accident. Did he realised that that money could have saved a baby's life if the hospital was in top notch shape; did he considered that the money could have provided employment for someone, who would in turn be impacting at least 4 lives. He was more interested in letting people realise how much he has here and there, how he can send ONLY his children to the best schools in the world etc. If those people that are witch hunting are being selfish, we should care less because Saraki never cared too. Guess what, if the tables were turned, he would have done the same to the other party that he is alleging to be witch hunting. It is a game of dog-eat-dog. |

Nice objective and sensible post. I strongly believe the only way out of this madness is a restructuring of the nation in the following order: 1. Review of the constitution to recognise referendum. 2. Sovereign National Conference 3. Have a referendum to ratify propositions of the SNC, which I hope can propose true federalism or regionalism, with a secession clause of 10-20years notice. 4. Ratification of the new constitution. 5. Implementation of the new structure. The country will continue to go round in circles until we address the fundamentals and highly germane questions. 21 Likes 2 Shares |

Our profile keeps soaring on the international scene. God bless PMB for us, for enabling him to gradually repair our damaged international status and restoring our national pride. Sons of haters can keep spreading their hate, while the chief hater keeps languishing in a watery-beans eating cell. Politics / Protest In Aba As Soldiers Allegedly Kill Two Butchers by Super1Star: 6:13am On May 06, 2016 |
What would have been a major ethnic clash was averted yesterday in Aba, Abia State following protests over alleged killings of two Igbo butchers at the Waterside abattoir by soldiers. Vanguard gathered that penultimate week, an unnamed soldier in mufti, reportedly went to the abattoir to smoke Indian hemp after which he refused to pay, claiming he was a soldier. The situation led to a fracas with some boys in the area, who insisted he must pay, without knowing that the man was a soldier. The said soldier reportedly came to the abattoir yesterday with four of his colleagues in a Hilux patrol van and started shooting indiscriminately. There was commotion in the area as butchers and those who came to buy meat scampered to safety and when the shooting died down, a pig rearer, identified as Ojukwu, was found dead. It was gathered that when some of the butchers, who saw what happened, sought to know from the soldiers what led to their action, that the trigger happy soldiers shot and killed another butcher. The soldiers reportedly beat four others to pulp and forced them into their van and drove off to an unknown destination. Their action angered the butchers as they were joined by other people in a protest that spread to all parts of the city. Attempt by the protesters to dump one the dead bodies they took round the town in a wheel barrow at one of the military posts in the city was aborted by soldiers in full battle gear at the Ogbor Hill waterside bridge. The protest which began at about 12.00noon later took an ethnic colouration, as the protesters marched towards the Mosque and the Hausa settlement on Hospital Road, but were quickly dispersed by soldiers who kept watch over the places. As at the time of filing this report, some Hausas in the city had to take refuge at the Aba Police Area command. When contacted, Commanding Officer, 14 Brigade, Ohafia, Brigadier General Lawrence Fejokwu, said investigations are ongoing to unravel the cause of the incident. Vanguard |

How many Igbo men were killed, whether politician or military? just one military officer.-- Lt. Col Arthur Unegbe. He was killed out of vendetta and beef by one of the coup plotters. He was reported to have refused to handover the key to the armoury. 3. Who refused to hand hand over power to the nominated cabinet member (Dipcharima), after Balewa's demise? Orizu, an igbo man 4. Who handed over power to Ironsi? Orizu 5. Who was the beneficiary of the coup executed by igbo officers? Ironsi, an igbo man. 6. Who was dilly-dallying in bringing the igbo coup plotters to justice?
