He is not being paid to sit down and be watching over Nigeria like a baby.

He needs diplomatic shuttles to get buyers for your oil, to get investors into your solid minerals, power and agricultural sectors.

He can never achieve that sitting down in his bedroom.

We all abused OBJ for tripping all over the world but at the end of the day, he was justified with debt forgiveness and other investments that poured into Nigeria.

If that is what it will take to stop people from crossing the rail track, thereby endangering the lives of the train passengers and themselves, then it is a welcome idea.

Can you guarantee that people will not be crossing the rail track indiscriminately?

Politics / Fulani Herdsmen Invade Enugu Community Kill Two, 19 Missing by Super1Star: 12:30pm On Feb 15, 2016
Nsukka- Anxiety and confusion has enveloped Abbi Community in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, Enugu State, following the invasion of the area by Fulani herdsmen who unleashed mayhem on the people, killing a brother and sister apart from razing down about seven houses and several motorcycles. Herdsmen… as death merchants Altogether, 19 persons were declared missing in the community even as several others were also wounded with machetes by the invaders.

It was gathered that the Fulani herdsmen numbering over 30 emerged from the bush, and began to attack the people in the community last Thursday, killing their victims and maiming others with machetes before fleeing into the bush unharmed.

The two relations who were killed were identified as Fidelis Okeja, 45, and his sister Mercy, 50. Fidelis and Mercy were sitting outside their compound around 6.30pm discussing when suddenly, about 30 masked Fulani herdsmen emerged from nowhere and them instantly. They later went ahead and attacked other members of the community with machetes, burnt some houses before retreating into the bush.

Investigations by Vanguard, revealed that sporadic shooting by the suspected Fulani herdsmen sent shivers into the inhabitants of other parts of the community who scampered for safety amid confusion. A reliable source in the community said that the people were taken unawares by Fulani herdsmen, adding that the police and members of the local vigilante group were yet to respond to cries of the people before the invaders escaped into the bush. ‘’The most worrisome aspect of the Fulani invasion of the community was that about 19 people are still missing as nobody can give account of them. Those missing were last seen on the fateful day.

The community formed search parties in groups, combing bushes within and outside the community for days now, yet no sign of success has been recorded,’’ he noted. ‘’We have lodged formal complaint at both Adani police station and Police Area Command Nsukka, but no arrests have been made over the matter. The Fulani herdsmen were armed to the teeth with dangerous weapons when they invaded us.

“Two people killed while 19 missing, several others brutalised with deep machete cuts now lying critical down at different hospitals. “The corpses of the deceased Fidelis and Mercy have been deposited at Bishop Sanahan Hospital, Nsukka while the search for the missing 19 people continues,” he said.

A senior officer at the Police Area Command, Nsukka who spoke on the condition of anonymity confirmed the story describing the attack on Abbi community as pathetic and sorrowful as two biological relations were killed and several others wounded,” among others He, however, said that full scale investigations has commenced to unravel the circumstances surrounding the barbaric attack on the community.

The Officer, however, said that the police were yet to receive the report of missing persons in the community on the account of the incident, but appealed to the community not to take laws into their hands by engaging in reprisal attack. Meanwhile, a team of anti-riot policemen has been drafted to the community to beef up security in the area and beyond.

You are well entitled to your opinion.

A fact remains a fact and they are:

1. Oranmiyan is the father of Eweka

2. Oranmiyan named benin

3. Eweka's dynasty throne crown and title still stands till today.

Those are facts that are not disputable anywhere we are very OK with that. It gives legitimacy to our claim of the crown.

Claim of wandering prince cannot be substantiated. Did he wandered to the east or to the west or north or into the sea?

Read my previous posts dude. How the name Izoduwa, interchangeable with Imadoduwa came about. Very consistent from earliest times.

Benin has been pretty centralised from a very long time and history of that single monarchy very consistent. No rival ruling houses in Benin trying to create stories to try bolster their entitlement/claim.

Even today, nothing like court cases involving succession as it litters some tribes in 9ja. Or where obas are deposed by court or government arbitrarily. Makee Benin pretty unique for consistency.

Benin never claim to be first to do brass work. But whenever Benin started, it was done to the highest level possible anywhere in the world then. Or is there anywhere that is claimed? Please show me. Metal works began in Africa thousands of years ago. Has been done in many places.

Benin people don't wake up one morning to make any claims. They usually respond to very amateur, ridiculous and futile attempts by egotistic tribalists to rewrite history. There are some who find it hard to swallow the fact that in each talk about African civilisation, Benin is always one of the first to be mentioned. And when foreign documentary makers like BBC narrate African History, a prominent place is given to Benin Empire.
Try as they may to detract, history is there for discerning minds.

Benin people are pretty comfortable in their skin. All the issues Nigeria has today and the little role for minorities was a major reason Benin resisted Britain to keep its empire.

When that failed, Benin realised the disaster and historical setback it will be. So no surprise that all kind of people want to rewrite history now, even backwater vassals of yore. grin cheesy

We never said Benin people are Yorubas. They are not are they will never be.

The fact remains the Benin throne, crown and title are all Yorubas. No controversy.

Read up on the reason Ugie Erha festival came to be. Read up on your Igue festival and where gifts to the Oba are always claimed to have come from. Read up on the deities Oranmiyan brought to Ile-Ibinu.

You have to do better than your guess work of Izoduwa or Imadoduwa or Ekaladerhan or whatever name you guys chose to call him, wandered to.

Mind you, the Palace of Ooni WAS NEVER desecrated by ANYBODY.

In JSS1 i was taught the myth about how Oduduwa dropped from the sky to form the yoruba race. I couldn't believe that tale and even as a child i tried to correlate the relationship between the Edo people and the Yoruba people. The fable just did not add up.

I have spent a valuable number of my life time in the west in fact i have visited all the entire yoruba states. Trust me you cant compare any of the yoruba monarchs with the Bini Monarch. The Omo N'Oba is so highly exulted that his presence alone will send shivers through your spine.

You are a liar, show us the book that told you Oduduwa came them from heaven. Just 1.

Obatala and Orunmila? Yes. That is our believe and so be it. If Jesus Enoch and Elijah can ascend, yes our own too can descend from there. Deal with it.

Oba Erediauwa did a nationwide thank-you tour after coronation. NATIONWIDE, up to Sokoto! We also have pics of him in my uncle's palace, the Duke of my town. grin cheesy
Having said that, Benin Royal family & every one with even a drop of royal blood hold Ife (called Uhe in Benin) in very very high esteem.
The reason is simple. Ife gave refuge to the Benin prince, Ekaladerhan, who became Ododuwa.

Otherwise, the Ogiso dynasty that began in about 40BC would have been lost.

With the kindness & generosity of Ife people, Benin has a royal family stretching back to 40BC, the same year the Roman senate appointed Herod as king of Judaea!
The only major break was between 1100 AD & 1169 AD. The current dynasty began in 1169 AD.

What is the correlation between your Ekaladerhan that followed a mermaid to the lost city of Atlantis and Oduduwa.

Which one are you guys even talking about. From Ekaladerhan, you twisted it to Izoduwa. Not satisfied with your own naming process, you re-engineered it to Imadoduwa.

In the meantime, go to your Oba's palace and ask him what the festival of Ugie Erha Oba connotes in your Oba's history.

Also ask him the gifts that the Chiefs always presented to him during the Igue festival, where do they tell him it came from?

Look for your lost Ekaladerhan somewhere else.

We are initiating that Bini people are not yorubas, but the throne, crown, title and current dynasty is of Yoruba lineage and that is an undeniable fact.

it has been proven all over the world that the Ife Brass work predates that of Benin. That is another undeniable facy.

It is very funny that the same people that are claiming they had an empire that had been trading with the Portuguese before Jesus was born could not write a history book before the Yorubas, thereby giving the Yorubas the opportunity to "re-write" history in their "own" favour.

What an argument and line of thought!!!!

Who should the Yorubas have written the history book in favour? The Bantus or Zulus I guess.

Your argument keeps getting irritating and devoid of logic on a progressive scale

Based on the relationship between the Benin Empire and the Portuguese, an early Portuguese writer named Joan d Barros gave a vivid description of how Benin takes permission from Ife before the coronation of a new Oba of Benin.

We have said it severally and we are saying it that this matter can be put to rest forever if and only if the Oba of Benin can come out and categorically state that He is not from the House of Oduduwa.

End of discussion.

Of course he wont do that simply because he knows oduduwa is the son of the last ogiso.

And mind you the way yoruba idolises oduduwa is quite different from how benin sees him.
To benin he is a banished prince, to yoruba he is their founder. Take note

What does Izoduwa and Oduduwa hav in common? NOTHING.

From Ekaladerhan to Izoduwa to Imadoduwa. Which one are they actually talking about. The dubious claim is just too obvious. By next week they will even turn it to Oduduwa fully.
