If you say the origin of the universe is a mystery THAT IS A LIE. We KNOW the universe has an origin and we know that a force packed with an infinite amount of energy caused the universe to be (Science has established this).

We also know that THERE IS NOTHING IN EXISTENCE WHICH PACKS AN INFINITE AMOUNT OF ENERGY TO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO CAUSE THIS.

So if infinite energy was what brought our universe to be yet we do not have this infinite energy available in our material world and we know that our universe began to exist at some point. This means that what caused our universe to exist by the application of energy infinite energy was not part of our universe but impacted it from outside it.

You say that an infinite energy caused the big bang. where did the energy come from? What is the nature of the energy?

Why is the energy infinite? Why did it not continue big banging?

Thousands of years ago long before the advent of modern science, it has been established to theists that GOD IS ETERNAL and exists AD INFINITUM.

If based on the above you still think that God (who we know as the designer) would require himself to also be designed then more brain matter is required to fill up some places they are obviously lacking.

What proof do you have that god is eternal?

There are questions that the human brain cannot answer. This doesnt mean you should then fill it with god.

The origin of the universe is still much a mystery. We are left the problem of infinite regress. Just like dividing a number with zero. We dont know the answer.

Programming on its own has to do with DELIBERATE process of writing or coding or arrangement. NO Program can exist by itself. Something or someone writes, codes or arranges it so it can efficiently function along the lines it was programmed to.

Laws themselves cannot come from nothing. Laws ALWAYS require an ORIGINAL LAW GIVER. Someone has to initiate laws and they do not initiate themselves.

Instead of demanding accountability from our respective politicians, we turn a blind eye and we start debating about tithes that some people chose to give freely.

Our politicians keep looting our common wealth, and we all keep quiet about it. Hospitals are not really equipped but we keep quiet and allow our people die while we attend to irrelevant issues.

If we are being honest to ourselves, not many Nigerians speak bravely to powerful pastors in the fear of "touching the anointed". Mr Freeze of cool FM is one of the few Nigerians that are ready to face these powerful pastors.

Not only did Freeze speak against tithing to these pastors and their cohorts, he gave logical replies to anyone who challenged him. Kudos to this man.

I am not a christian but I like christians like Mr. Freeze- he is ready to apply some common sense to his religion. Tithing is not a must for christians.

5 pages of this thread and I am yet to see any ex-christian who has surpassed my mumu.

I beat the sense out of a 10 year old boy because a local pastor said he has demons in him. To be fair, the boy was troublesome and stubborn. All the boy needed was love and affection.

He was the son of my uncles friend who worked in our family compound in the east. We used him like an errand boy but the guy was just naughty- stealing and destroying things. A relative who was a pastor came visiting and later said that the boy needs "deliverance" because he has demons. The pastor used to beat the boy silly and the boy became quiet. The pastor recommended that such "deliverance" should be done frequently. It seemed like the pastor was right.

When the pastor left, the boy went back to his naughty ways. But I gave him consistent thorough beatings to remove his demons. It was not until 2 years later that I became a deist that I realised that I had engaged in child abuse.

The good thing is that the boy is no more in the village. He is studying in Lagos now and I make sure that he has pocket money and I make sure I take him out whenever I can. I think the boy has forgiven me now that I am softer.

Surprising!

I'm not religious (deist). I do not like gospel music, especially slow ones.

I don't teach tithe or tithing to Christians neither do I pay it so the point of eating it is out of place. I'm a living testimony of many who don't tithe but gives AND I'M BLESSED WITHOUT TITHING.
