ngozievergreen: Their case is different, where true o.
That of yorubas is driven by laziness and inferiority complex they feel for the rot in Osun, Oyo and so on.
Being proud of Shanghai is diff from saying u are from Shanghai, when u are not from there
So we should be claiming arochukwu? What a comment.

Laziness and inferiority complex indeed. Your ancestors, your elders, your generations -born and unborn have never achieved what SW achieved and you will never. What is there in u, wanderers like Cain, to be having complex over.
lesotho and swaziland in south africa are much smaller than SE in landmass. So are 1000 other independent countries. It is a God-given right for a people to choose their destiny. Especially in the face of terror, nepotism and discrimination in this nigeria
What is the population of those mentioned countries and yours?

biafranqueen: I was trying to ignore them because I have come to realize that some non Igbos have a very unhealthy fantasy of being Igbo and when it is not realized they become unproductive. Of course they will all come here claiming Lagos is where they hail! Nothing we discuss they can resist commenting smh. I wonder why they care so much especially the ones that insult us the most! Let us ignore the enemies of progress, from derailing this important post, I don't blame them for the obsession we are such an interesting people wink
No one is interested In derailing your thread, provided your people don't bring the issue of SW into it. You guys should make your contributions within yourself and free us.
VAT from where Osogbo or Iseyin?

Don't mention Lagos from that your rotten mouth because you know Lagos economy is contributed by ALL Nigerians as federal capital not yoruba people.

Do yourself the favour to go to min of finance homepage and see the vat figures. Dont be intellectually lazy. Cocoa is the next highest earner after oil.

That is what we have to offer. What are you contributing to Nigeria?
WHAT DOES THE AVERAGE SW STATE CONTRIBUTE TO THE CENTER?

COCOA?
Just VAT being generated from SW alone is enough.
Afam, let me take u on 2 of your arguments and come back later. Remember SE land mass is ver small. Infact the land mass of the entire SE is not up to 3 local govts in niger state.
Enugu has a standard stadium azikiwe intl stadium. Owerri has an equally standard stadium, dan anyiam. Abia has eyimba stadium, though not fantastic but they naija premier leagues there. Anambra has rojenni stadium oba, though private, but it serves well.
Enugu has an intl airport. Owerri has a good airport awka-enugu, abakiliki to enugu, umuahia to owerri - all about an hour drive.
So why should SE state govts embark on white elephant airport and stadia projects when the ones they have are in good condition?
With your small landmass and monstrous population, you are clamouring for Biafra? I am trying to visualise igbos in other parts of the country migrating to alaigbo and the intense competition that will follow. No wonder, you are always quick to add south south to yourselves. All good.

I used to see the adverts of Rochas projects on TV and I felt the guy is really trying. Though, I tried to check up the projects online, I could not get an appropriate site for the projects and even Imo State Govt as a whole.

Alaigbo, undoubtedly has a great potentials but the clog in their wheel of progress is

1. Continuous voting in of dumb heads as their leaders.
2. Lack of political awareness of the populace
3. We vs them mentality based on the fought bad forgotten. Civil war
4. Brain drain of the best brains.
5. Inability to develop their IGF and continuous looting of the meager Fed Allocation.

The question I can't but ask is, are there no elders in the land to talk to these political shenanigans calling themselves Govs of alaigbo.

phantom: please stop fooling yourself.how many of the houses you see in upscale abuja are occupied? Dont even go there.our three biggest economies lag,abj and ph put together cannot compare to what i see up there.simple!
you better calm your hot nerves down. travel around africa and you will see what I am saying. I have been to Angola, apart from Luanda, other places are not any where near birnin kebbi. No doubt Luanda is lovely place with lovely beach and structure, i still stand by it, it can not stand Abuja. It is a small compact city but well planned.

if you are basing your judgement on pix, you are on a long thing. Not many people can afford those structures you are seeing, they are majorly occupied by their aristocrats, expatriates and of course Niger boiz. grin

we always mistake. most african countries can only boast of 1 or 2 cities/towns apart from their capital that are conducive for living with all amenities at your finger tips. the only exception is South Africa, Nigeria and Egypt. Apart from Luanda, there is no meaningful development in other parts of Angola. It is definitely an aberration to be comparing Nigeria (even in our worst state) to Angola.

Luanda is a lovely city and i love the beach but the truth is, you can't compare it with Abuja.

How many Angolans can afford all the houses displayed above? most of their estates are usually scantily occupied.
