Open letter to all the Naija oloshos
Una don see am.... No go learn work. Wait for mr tall dark and handsome who will be foolish enough to marry you. Dont put your head down and make yourself useful, wait for that guy who drives a baby boy to call you when he wants to use your body after drinking alomo, agbo and mokole or viagra. Dont put your head down and command respect. Let that quality man pass you by... Keep hanging out with friends who have empty heads and only know how to give head.
Dont put your head. Because you are now in the university and live on campus you feel it means full permission to DO all the boys who have long shotgun or are rich or cute.

The cult system has been adulterated just like the illuminati which were initially group of scientists who fled from the persecution of the Roman Catholic Church. Now it is something people refer to when they talk about devil worship for fame and fortune. A pity.... mikron: For those of you who don’t know how the various cult groups came into being in tetiary institutions in Nigeria, here’s a brief to further broaden your spectrum. Most of the publications I have read on the subject of cultism seem to agree that what is known as “secret cults” in tertiary institutions in Nigeria started when the Pyrates Confraternity was formed at the University college Ibadan (UCI) in 1953. The confraternity was formed by six students at UCI, namely, Wole Soyinka, Aig-Imoukhuede, Pius Olegbe, Ralph Opara, Nat Oyelola and Olumuyiwa Awe. The Society was formed for the following reasons among others: 1. To Abolish convention, 2. To revive the age of chivalry 3. To end tribalism and elitism. There is no doubt that the intentions of the founders of Pyrates Confraternity were altruistic. They obviously did not set out to create the hydra-headed monster (or phenomenon) known as cultism in today’s terminology. But like a farmer clearing a bush in the harmattan and setting a fire to a heap of dry leaves, what started with a group of six has now become a chimeric underground movement, a tyrannical monster with many heads. The list of the secret cults operating in our educational institutions looks like what you will find in the encyclopedia of any computer anti-virus software. At the count it was estimated that there are 44 cult groups operating in various campuses in Nigeria. This is probably an underestimate. It has also been estimated that the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), University of Calabar (UNICAL), Univerisity of Benin (UNIBEN), University of Lagos (UNILAG), and the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (OAU) have not less than 16 cult groups operating in each of these campuses at any given time.
1. NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SEADOGS (NAS)PYRATE CONFRATERNITY (AHOI-SEADOG) This cult group was the first identifiable cult group formed between 1952 and 1954 at the foremost Western University of Ibadan now University of Ibadan by seven persons namely: Ralph Opara, Ikhehare Aig-Imokhuede, Sylvanus Egbuchie, Nathaniel Oyelola, Pius Oleghe, Olumuyiwa Awe and Wole Soyinka. The pioneers of NAS were collectively known as “The Magnificent Seven”. It was headed by CAPON BLOOD. The aims was basically to combat the then increasing occurrence of violence caused by tribal groups during students’ activities, western influences and other secular gatherings, in ways suitable to the cult group but with the advent of time deviation of purpose manifested. Pyrates sayings and beliefs; Odas is Odas *No Friend, No Foe (NFNF) *Absolute No Lagging (ANL) *Members are knowns as ”AHOI” or ”P-C” |

1 & 2. Speaking of digital marketing i was able to pull out $600 from my first info product to the American market sold on click bank last year. Amazing feeling, my only regret was that i blew that money fast. I created a website selling ebook, videos, and used affiliates to pull in the traffic. After making that cash I sold the website on flippa for another $70. I am even thinking of holding a free seminar on whatsapp i call cellinar... cos na for cell phone we go do the seminar. Anytime soon sha.... I just need people to show their interest. 2. The programming thing is a cool one. I just realized one of the top paying jobs in the world is related to softwares and it is the hottest job with vacancies. But e take style dey fear me... All that coding. Anyway i applied to learn online from a foremost online learning platform FREE despite the cost is about 6k to 15k monthly. Pluralsight.com 4. Agriculture is somehow a source of life but many don't know it. Its just that people dont want to be involved in that hard work associated with farming. A cousin of mine who is a graduate actually turned out to be a farmer and everyone in the family was like but this is an amazing business if u have plenty land with people working there. You no say u no go ever lack food for life. Speaking of which sef e be like say i go call my uncle to give me my land for village make i turn am to plantain Plantation cos i like dodo die. 5. Blogging? that one no dey pay wella again unless u have tey in the game grow white hair join. No look linda ikeji o unless u go loss. Unless u just wanna do it for fun while u have a stable income somewhere. Thats y i sold off my site with adsense lately. If anyone needs help with anything i just mentioned above... Hala at me via whatsapp 08174223203 . . drbashfx: We can add if from a humble background
The major craze in this clime and time is social media ,e-retailers and othr great things on the world wide web. So first thing:
1 LEARN HOW TO BE A DIGITAL MARKETER: Who is that: someone that understands e-mail marketing, social media advertising, search engine optimization, google analytics and a fairly good idea abt web designs. In short the guy that can help u get buzz on ur product or service offered online.
Information to be this person is all online and as it is.. we all live online anyway;so any youth can turn that wasted time into a gold mine.
This is a skill corporates re willing 2 pay correct money 4. Brick and mortar company trying to figure out ways to have a big presence online and have a return on investment on money spent online.
2 LEARN TO BE AN AFFILIATE MARKETER:
With the inroad jumia, konga, deal dey etc have made, this is a viable way of trying to earn some dough.
This could take some time-6 months to 1 year to get the hang of it and start profiting. The input for these is time and propably money for a domain name: 30$.
3. LEARN TO BE A PROGRAMMER :
A damn good programmer won't starve. Like with all skill set,it takes good time to be a bad ass one. All u need is just the 'can do spirit',a mind that is ready to learn- open minded- and make sure it is what u want. If working the back-end seems too much u can learn designing a user interface xml(uix).
We now have schools whereby they re ready to pay you while learning to be a better programmer: Andela . Though the barrier of entry is quite high.
A good programmer can go on to be anything he wants to be; think about the googles, oracles, microsoft, apple, facebook, nairaland e.t.c .
The whole world is your oyster: u can venture into any fields and try to disrupt it by creating unique solutions to myriads of problem in Nigeria.
U might want to look up this start-ups : paystack, hotels.ng, kangpe doctors, andela, prepclass, traclist, flutterwave, drinks.ng, paga and many more. They are all trying to solve problems with technology and monetizing it .
really hope I get to programme 2 some extent one day .
4 Agriculture
This is the big Elephant in the room. We need cheaper tomatoes, bags of rice are expensive, yam is expensive, even sweet potato is now costly ,garri is not that accesible to the poor man anymore; Without mentioning addendums : small eggs, xpensive fish and meat; though u can have a meal without these anyway.
All these points to one thing : scarcity. We import almost everything, youths re in urban centres looking for white collar jobs with funny certificates.
About time to choose a field in agriculture and be a specialist in it :from the quick wins(low hanging fruits) of fish farming to snail rearing, poultry farming ,pig farming ,best ways of growing subsistence crops - defer cash crops technique till later
Find something to do across the value chain of agric: learn how to harvest rice-operating the thresher, processing-handling the mill, storage-learn abt how to go about storing cereals in silos.
Be a specialist and try to find ways of marketing these skills, even if it involves going to co-operative farmers in your village. One thing is sure, a 21st century farmer will not go hungry.
5 Blogging
Everybody is a blogger nowadays, but trust me there is still room for curation of quality contents on your blog.
Find a great niche that is interesting to you and write or find great stories around it. Curating good contents is not easy neither is creating it,reason why a lot of blogs takes the easy way out and lifts off stories off one another.
The downside to these is that it is a thankless job,and for a hungry man,the incubation period-using linda as an example:4-5 years - b4 it can be monetized might just be too long. You can add to that : finding keywords that would drive traffic to your blog, might involve a jobless man finding dollars for facebook, twitter, instagram, google ads .
But in all these u become a better person and an authority in that field and u never know who or when the expertise would be needed.
A rich kid would easily crack blogging than a jobless dude. These bring me to jobs that would work well for a jobless dude with buffer: photography-those cameras re quite expensive, same thing with being a dj-ask dj cuppy(otedola),xclusive (alakija) ,obi (ajuonuma) ,case ( dehinde fernandez grandson). U can try cracking being a chef. All these skills re in high demand.
A jobless dude won't be able to afford money 4 studio sessions,or the xpenses for transportation and looking good for an audition: hazards of trying to be an entertainer.
This list is not exhaustive, about time we stop mopping about lack of jobs and find something for our hands to do. God bless. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 10 Reasons Why You Should Stop Looking For Job As A Graduate! by Supnaija(m): 8:17am On Aug 14, 2016 |
realunclej: In all my life, when it comes to source of income, the only thing I have not done is work for anyone in a 9 to 5 job. I made that decision long before I went for higher institution. I could remember my dad telling us that he is sending us to school to acquire academic knowledge but that if we want to succeed financially in life, we should be thinking of starting our own business. Those were my guiding words all my year in school. So, while in school, I made sure I had a profitable business. In fact, it was the proceeding I used to see myself through and even start a better business after graduation. Today, I have a couple of businesses and I still have bigger dreams. I can't thank my dad enough. Maybe today, I would have been roaming the street looking for job.
If you are a graduate and you are looking for job/employment, honestly, there are at least 10 reasons why YOU will not get a job. So, I will advise you should start building your capacity to start your own business. Below are 10 reasons why you will not get a job.
1. You Lack The Required Skill. Employers continue to complain about a dearth of skills among graduates. Employers are obviously tired of seeing same set of individuals with same set of qualifications springing up for interviews daily whereas they are in need of someone that will stand out. So ask yourself, what employable skill do I have?
2. You Lack Personal Capability To Deliver: I think many graduates believe in their certificate and not in their individual capability which would make or mar their pursuits of employment. Many lack self-development and I belief you belong to that category. What have you done since you graduate to develop your personal capability?
3. You Are A Product of a Bad Educational System: Poor funding and management of our Educational system in addition to strike has made our institution products a laughing stock. In fact, the curriculum of some studies in the institutions are not in demand. Failure of school curriculum to place emphasis on practical concepts of entreprenuership and too much emphasis on theoretical education than entreprenuership exposure is a major problem.
4. You Can't Meet Employers’ Unrealistic Demands: Employers stating job experiences as much as 3 years for fresh graduates. Age restriction, height, gender, language and many more, under these tense conditions, hardly will you see a graduate that will scale through and qualify for job application requirement except those who want to cross-carpet..
5. Lack of Digital Skills: In this digital age, if you lack the digital skills and creativity to thrive in relation to your profession, you will surely be chasing a ghost if you are looking for a well paying job.
6. You Are One of the Educated Illiterates: Every employer wants beyond just a certificate. Every employer is out to employ someone with reasoning and intellectual might, not someone who cannot play with a full deck. Someone who knows how to and wants to learn more than what they studied in school and on the job. Someone who can readily bring ideas to the table on how the company can forge forward. Not someone with low reasoning capability who won’t even be able to answer extremely trivial questions. But guess what, that is what many of our graduates are.
7. You Want The Pay But Not The Work: Many Nigerian graduates think of getting employed today and get a car or probably buy a mansion in the next month, based on their salary. You and I know that such only happen in dreams. Success is built over time and with hard work, perseverance, dedication and being focused over the years. Are you willing to make the sacrifice?
8. Too Much Ego With Empty Pocket: I have had the privilege to present some business opportunities to some graduates and all they can say is they can only do administrative work where they sit in an office to be answering yes sir or yes ma. It took someone who is not a graduate to embrace the same opportunity. Today these uneducated persons are 50 times better than the graduate in terms of personal capability, income, value and the caliber of people in their connection.
9. Companies Are Downsizing: I remember visiting a couple of industrial estates in Lagos recently. You will see busy security men at the gate, but when you approach them that you want to go in, they will tell you the company has folded or the workers are on strike. The story is the same across the state and I belief same thing is happening in other part of the country.
10. There Is No Job Out There: Investors are not bringing in money which means no new job opportunity is being created. There is economy recession in the country. Even the companies that are retrenching, what do you think will happen when they become financially buoyant again. I can bet they will simply recall their sacked workers. The reason is simple, it cost more to hire a new staff than to recall an old staff. So, where will you be then?
The Way Forward The only way forward I see is for you to start something on your own. Do not despise small beginning. If you are going to start a business though, I will advise you focus on evergreen product or services. Those that are always in demand such as Agriculture, Health, Real Estate, ICT, Environmental services, Retail, Travel, Real Estate and maybe some few more. If you embark on this journey to discover your true potential, I pray for your SUCCESS but if you go down the popular path of seeking for job, I wish you lUcK. A friend of mine who just recently got fired was regretting not starting his own business from day 1. He discovered that he totally depended on his salary that he forgot to even save up some cash for the rainy day. Now he is peniless and jobless with only certificates - in his words he asked me 'na bsc i go chop?'. He never really expected to be fired cos he was the best at his job. Now he wants to start his biz and does not know where to start to raise the capital needed. Whats the way forward..... |

Hello guys i need advice on traveling and working in dubai as Naija no won improve. A friend of mine has been to qatar before and now working on going to dubai to hustle. He asked me to hustle money and come with him. I don't have the money yet but apart from that, i am a bit hesitant about going to dubai to hustle cos i have watched videos on YouTube on how they turn ppl into slaves and seize passports and force 10ppl to live in a room. All these things are what i have considered and i am a bit skeptic about traveling. But when i remember that at least i can earn more money and finally push my higher education online, in a far better environment, i get confused. So please i need your advice on if it is reasonable for me to go and hustle in dubai, leaving my mom and siblings whom i more or less cater for with the little i earn here. Or just stay here and hope God blesses me somehow. I will be grateful if someone with first hand experience in dubai can share his or her story. Thanks guys |
