This is not primarily an issue of equipment but of training and doctrine. I used to be an advocate of new weapons but I guess I am no longer cos anything u buy for this present Nigeria Army they will surely gift it to BHT
Chief, one cannot stop calling for correct type of weapons for our army. Our police rents ak-47 to armed robbers, but we still buy new weapons for police or else robbers will rob Central Bank HQ in day light. How does FGN, DHQ, our leaders sleep? Nigeria is not safe! What if Algeria just decides to use us for demo one day, who will rescue NA ? See heavy weapons that country accumulates, bmp ifv, tanks, missiles, fauchs afv, terminators, now adding German ifv boxer with composite armour, all only 4 hours road drive, Algeria is in Nigeria !!!!

I swear this is fake news just propaganda from terrorist.yes of course our military lack adequate weaponry to fight Boko Haram.we just have to use what we have until better platform arrive.like the mi35m,jf17, super tucano,ARA mrap.e.t.c
Bros dont swear o, as I am not sure, so you are not sure. DHQ will not announce all defeats-loss of NA FOB and armoury looted, I got the news from published Francophonie media reports. Their own analysis is that its true, but lets wait to see if DHQ will feed us news.

Not necessarily training and doctrine but the way FOBs are set up with zink and other inappropriate materials. Also no situational awareness either with drones, or recce units. How come they lose equipment at FOBs but not usually anywhere else. They mostly defend themselves during ambushes and don't lose equipment when they are on the offensive.
Actually all three of us are correct because Nigeria has all those problems not only one. Our case has no known cure yet. Nigerian Army has equipment-weapons problem, training-doctrine problem, tactics-strategy problem, financial-accountability problem, sanitation-dirty barracks problem (enter dem toilet see armoured shit). The politician-doctor with our cure is still in primary school.

Well, we cannot blame soldiers for poor training, education is Garbage In-Garbage Out like computers behave according to quality of software program you upload into it.

If Nigerian army privates, corporals, other NCOs have bad training and doctrine, it's fault of captains, colonels, generals who give all our troops bad training. TRADOC is headed by major general upwards, they are responsible for all NA doctrine and training.

We blame those poor low privates to warrant 1 unfairly for poor performance, if we give Enyimba coaching to players, we have no right to demand that they play and win games like Chelsea or Barcelona, the Nigerian players signed for Chelsea are playing excellently like white European stars.

Give all Nigerian private to warrant soldiers same quality training as USA Marines and Boko Haram will relocate to Burkina Faso. We cheat these young boys, soldiers young as 20 years of age in frontline with 1960s outdated training and tactics forced into their heads by infantry corps schools officers.

Also, we blame privates, sergeants for bad tactics, but it's the fault of lieutenant, captains, majors that lead and command our infantry platoons, infantry companies into battle with poor field tactics and wrong doctrine.

If all students fail exam, we must blame class teacher for his failure to impart correct knowledge. Nigerian army officers are responsible for Nigerian training privates/NCOs, the failure is from the teachers who produce failing students.

Read the comments of ordinary Nigerians about NA training, as said by other people not forum guys here, a dozen comments posted on this YouTube video of NA training, then you wonder how civilians think like these but our army does not learn from it, the whole NA is stuck on everything 1960 era, for weapons, training, attitude, doctrine, all is 1960s period we cannot free our army from, they need deliverance.

Algeria just imported few months ago 300 bmpterminator added to 500 t-90 tanks, added to 1,000 ifvs and bmp-2 upgraded full load new guided missiles, new cannons, new night fighting infra red vision and new targeting hardware. We have double their oil and more than double their gas, but their army hardware is 20 times our own, and we think cheap nylon pure water will win us this war? Our lazy journalists keep saying Boko Haram war has killed 20,00 civilians since 2014, the number has not changed, so nobody died since 2014? Everywhere in Nigeria its incompetence galore.

Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by SupremeCourt:
Hoping this Friday base overrun is not true. DHQ silent. Its why I dont ignorantly dance to all these tit for tat guys post here, we blow BHT today, BHT retaliate tomorrow. Senseless war! Someone commented here, FGN is deceiving itself that it will win this war with a cheaply poorly equipped Nigerian Army. Report- BHT attacks NA base 11 soldiers dead, our armoury weapons looted to be used against us later, many NA armoured vehicles destroyed as if Nigerian Army armour is nylon bag ? cobra apc, mrap bigfoot, scorpion light tank, and brand new cheap armoured vehicles we just imported few months ago to win the war now roasted!!! Reason why some of us voted for common sense stopped posting NA toyota hilux and same old weapons that cost lives of 1,500 soldiers and police, when Nigerians dont know how to say enough is enough, the feeder keeps feeding us sawdust belle full. We say Kora are mumu, but same Kora got 300 bmpterminator brand new few months ago added to 1,000 mixed ifv, bmp-2 reloaded heavy firepower, but we who think we are smarter than Kora, we use pangolo cigar to defend 200 million people in our oil & gas rich Nigeria, we are top 10 in mineral resources on this planet.

This was exactly what I was telling someone...How will NA start manufacturing it's own vehicle when we already have indigenous companies like Proforce and Innoson already in existence sad..
The money that is budgeted for this NAVMC would have been better used when given to Proforce to improve or make more of the ARA..This will in turn increase the level of production...And also give NA More Time to work on their strategies and trainings huh huh

But #ThisisNigeria smiley smiley
Hmmmm true talk! Wonder how NA got 600 armoured vehicles and now looking for transmission and engine, wetin you buy, just the empty metal body was imported? We now have money tied down, they have problem of patent right, its acmat bastion infantry personnel carrier old model from France, to re-engine and rename and re-market as na-cv can cause legal patent trouble. The bastion ipc was made specially for African Sahara desert, so Chad, Cameroon, Burkina, Senegal, Somalia, etc all use it. How we got 600 carcases of acmat bastion ipc is the big question, all this secrecy about imported things that France has full details, many soldiers dont even know anything about the deal, the ones that gave out the full name and specs dont have info about the purchase money, so just a clique is doing all by themselves, with public funds, hmmmm! Na waaaaah o!

New fully built bastion ipc can cost over $500,000. Should FG risk more dollars on this bastion conversion project? How economical? How long have these 600 bastions 'laid waste' in NA boneyard? As proforce can deliver equal capability afv fully brand new at $150,000 paid for , so which is better option now?

Specs for bastion: 1,000 km range on one fuel tank, 110 kmh speed, ballistic stanag 2 body/under tyres, resist 7.62mm/6kg mine, twin roof weapon stations, desertized mechanics, real good for N.E. CTCOIN. If they humble themselves and voice out, help will come so NA can put 600 afv into battle against those N.E. animalistic terrorists, but when you corner everything how will helpers come rescue you?

To claim made in Nigeria armoured vehicle with imported body ready made, engine fully made, transmission fully made, then you put NA logo and name on top, and tell all Nigerians its made in Nigeria? French embassy will file law suit to your office on Monday morning grin unless we get patent right permit. When you dont don things open and clear, dis kain wahala enter your trouser grin grin

Cheap points
Most if not all those land surveillance radars are free gifts donated by govt of Germany around 2016 due to efforts of good civilian members of the public who begged German embassy Abuja to please give modern equipment to Nigerian army so we can gain upper hand over Boko Haram. Stingy Germans did not give us leopard tanks grin. That NA officer complaining is poorly trained, the radars are good, NA could not handle its sophistication, too advanced for them, not willing to spend dollars send operators on training course in Germany, they do ijebu reading user manuals. Hi-tech hardware need special full training courses overseas by manufacturer. He is condemning hi-tech radar Germany made, which one did his country produce? grin

Seems like industry driven projects like ProForce Thunder last seen in an advance stage of development are abandoned. Any reason for that?
You don't understand the game yet bros? grin It's another igirigi drama, plenty PR hype, no real tech capability to do. 7/8 of parts of vehicles shown in NA videos claiming made in Nigeria are imported, we have no steel industry and as Trumpeter said, means we have no country. The Proforce MD seems not dancing to music played for him by NA, his ARA was accepted because of scarce dollars to import, listen to his videos of complains, NA no look his side 2012, but now NA will buy ARA because its naira not dollars. Every new army boss does his own made in Nigerian army APC pet project grin Those who know better told us igirigi was a game in 2012 but we argue with them say no, shebi today now our eyes don clear. Vehicle production is heavy industry, visit Nnewi see massive hi-tech factory China set up for innoson to assemble not make o, just assemble CKD of civilian vehicle not to talk of military APC. NAVMC cant build 1/8 of an APC, no army is known to have skills and machinery to pull off such stunt. At best NAVMC succeeds with that ATV buggy if Chinese manufacturer keeps exporting CKD for NAVMC assembly. You forgot Nigeria enjoys fooling itself by perambulating in circles grin Kikikikikiki grin

MUMU is ur 1st name do you think BHT will march 5000 men from Borno to Abuja.... undecided huh It shows how dumb you are !!
They will capture territory after territory, has seen in Nigeria, Syria, Afghanistan & Iraq etc ...
So you just order your men to March from point A to G, leaving B,C,D,E & F before going to G. It shows your I.Q is so timid... grin grin grin
Do you think BHT will order it's troop to March from Borno to Abuja and leave the states between Borno and Abuja unconquered. Guys like you are keyboard warriors, it's time wasting arguing with dump ass like you.
And now you claim you know much about military and you're smart..... undecided
You are the ones who think 40,000 men are a big force to capture half of Nigeria, you did not consider level of BHT weapons and vehicles.

As you say now, that they will capture city after city, how will they have enough men to hold each city with garrison in all other states between Borno and Abuja? You mean BHT will spread men over 1,000 km of land and hold it, so how will they do that with 10,000 men when they already hold 14 local governments with men as garrisons and have based in Niger, Chad, Cameroon? grin grin

By the time your BHT force hold land stretching more than 1,000 km then only 20 men will remain to invade Abuja. You see how mumulistic you are now?

With 30,000 NA, and 10,000 extra Chadian, Cameroonian, Niger Rep army helping in combat, Nigerian army still complains they are overstretched over a wide area in N.E. with 40,000 soldiers on our side fully equipped with huge air force squadrons. You have no idea what it takes for boots to occupy wide grounds of a whole region.

I never said I know military, I said I dont know it, but I know common sense, FG officially confirmed BHT held 14 local govts of say 100 towns-villages, if a tiny 200 men garrison hold each town, Boko Haram has used 20,000 men ! Then add camps in SAambisa, Allagrano, Chad, Niger , Cameroon, that proves BHT has 30,000 minimum, but add mobile roaming guerrillas and suicide bombers living all over thye north among the public, yes 40k is likely the true size of Boko Haram at peak in 2014 December.

Common sense is not common mister man, so easy to prove you guys wrong, but you will never take correction and thats what kills the value of this forum. I have a guess NA pays you to run this PR forum for them, its been 5 years, and you are doing it free? How do you feed your family? Now thank me for explaining to you how BHT is +/- 40,000 fighters grin

LOL so BH took barma and other localities they had air cover. You stupidity no longer amuse, it's a call to concern my brother.
BHT driving 800 men in 50 Toyota hilux convoy for 100 km to Bama is short distance with only hundreds of men so needs no air cover, but let them march 5,000 men in wide open land travelling 24 hours over 1,000 km distance to Abuja in broad daylight, and see how NAF will send dozens of aircraft to mercilessly bomb and rocket them to powder, not up to 50 men will reach Abuja.

Honestly during the dark days: "2014 -2016" if truly BHT
numbers is truly between 30,000 and above at the peak periods they would have attempted to attack Abuja........ the western & eastern part of Nigeria would not be safe by now.
If BHT marches just 5,000 men from Borno to Abuja in wide open land space of northern Nigeria, NAF will bomb them to ashes before they reach destination.

There is a reason BHT camps it's bigger forces in forest under cover from powerful NAF air attacks, Boko boys won't last one week.

BHT is smart not to expose a large force in open space for NAF to cut in pieces with squadrons of aircraft and high calibre bombs flying 1,000 sorties non-stop!

I am surprised those of us who don't know military think smarter than those who post all the war photos grin

For anyone interested in knowing ISWAP's true numerical strength, order of battle and source of funds, I suggest reading this https://mobile.twitter.com/FulanNasrullah/status/1120631799225491456
Nice one indeed.

They estimate ISWAP at ± 20,000 so BHT can hit 40k total, especially combined forces.

Only a fool will think BHT used 10,000 men to occupy the size of Belgium, with no air force c-130 hercules transport planes or thousand molue buses to drive them around to control and put Garrison on 30,000 km².

At 1 man per km² BHT needs ±30,000 men and extra for camps in Chad, Niger, Cameroon, plus raiding force mobile guerrillas. More like 40k. Then 40k men does not mean all own a rifle each, they rotate same limited weapons. Takes sense to figure this out.

Seriously.IF they had such numbers why did miduguri not fall. THis town was attacked several times during this period.
40,000 men sharing 10,000 ak-47 rotated by groups running shifts of operations cannot take Maiduguri, BHT has no armoured corps, no artillery brigade, and no air force. How will they take Maiduguri that is a stronghold of NA, NAF, NN with hundreds of armoured vehicles?

BHT don't even have enough enough Toyota Hilux to carry 40k men, many videos show footmen or okada riders. If they come out with large force of 5,000 men heading for Abuja NAF helicopters will rocket them to pieces like meat grinder before they even reach Kaduna.

Boko Haram had no equipment and air power to do the job, that's why they cannot overrun 500,000 Nigerian army and police, we are too many for them.

I caused no commotion, the thugs on this forum calling me hemp smoker for speaking my mind, backed up with a valid source, those forum members caused the commotion.

What you guys don't know is that calling people stupiid for not agreeing with you, makes the you look uncivilized, in decent societies people are free to have different opinions, and calling your thread monotonous is my opinion, but because civility and correction or opinion piece are all strange to you guys, you start attacking people and you yourselves start the commotion.

You can create peace by skipping over any comments you dislike, but you just aren't smart to do that. You start rounds of insult and then blame others for the chaos.

All you five mumus that replied my comment saying I smoke hemp gringringrin your type of senselessness is why I hate wasting my precious time on this boringly monotonous and repetitive ak-47-hilux-alpha jet forum full of shallow thinkers except the 3 or 4 sensible guys here.

You cannot even figure out peak strength of Boko Haram? We ordinary folks have more sense than you who claim military knowledge.

I don't post anything without first reading lots of facts and asking those who know better, ¾ of my posts need you to do research before you can say my facts are wrong. Am no genius, but I do my homework before I write.

Yes, Boko Haram I called 40,000 fighters at peak era, I am 100% correct, na you be born mumu.

"Local and international experts put number at between 5,000 and 50,000 active Boko Haram fighters."

https://medium.com/war-is-boring/how-big-is-boko-haram-fac21c25807

You don't know science of estimates, your brain needs full upgrade like alpha jet for you to think at that level, I need to find web info sources all the time to educate you adults with brains like Fulani cow gringringrin

1. First, how can BHT withstand NA, NAF, NN 30,000 troops if Boko Haram is not ± 40,000 fighters?

2. Second, 2014, how can Boko Haram firmly hold Nigerian lands big as size of Belgium with permanent caliphate garrison 24/7 impregnable to DHQ for months, and still have thousands of fighters based in camps in Cameroon, Niger Rep, Chad, added to 14 big local governments in Nigeria, and still have enough additional mobile guerilla forces that overrun our FOBs, if it has men not near 40,000 strength?

So your half empty skull cannot do basic quadrant mapping calculations of these four countries per square kilometre of BHT caliphate size to estimate total of how many men Shekau will need as roaming guerillas and occupying huge swaths of land?

Na your mumu type full dis Africa till we miss road to progress. Kikikikikiki gringringrin Now, find another fault in that my comment so I can squeeze more pepper inside eyeballs of you five adult mumus gringringrin

Xbee007:
Truth be told, the Chadians are a big game changer. They are bringing back the long lost morale of Nigerian soldiers.
Chad caused Nigeria's problem in the first place. Thousand kpv zsu anti aircraft killer technical Toyota battalions came through their lands into Nigeria from 2012 when BH started overrunning NA bases. Cameroon, Niger Rep, Chad are permanent open transit routes for deadly Libya, Sudan, Somalia, Arabia Middle East black market military grade weapons killing our soldiers and alpha jets. 300 Chibok girls were kept enslaved for years in Cameroon-Chad forests, reason UK, US, and NAF flews best ISR planes and drones searching Nigeria but never found our girls.

If Chad like, let them not join us, if Nigeria becomes viable BHT ISWAP base, they will launch Jihad into Chad too, they never get satisfied taking one country, they spread caliphate everywhere they can to gain worldwide empire, Mali was not enough prize fro them. If those 40,000 Boko Haram fighters at full strength had focused on Chad's 20,000 army, they will beg France for oyinbo legion battalions intervention force. As for BHT focusing on Cameroon, Biya will run to hide in Paris, while Niger Rep will cease to exist grin grin grin grin. Nigeria's 195 million population, NAF young pilots like late Hedima that will never give up, our 500,000 army+police is just too big for BHT to overrun. Let other countries now claiming champion, taste what Nigeria had to swallow, then lets see how they perform grin grin grin grin

You clearly have a very big problem and i am not the answer to it, in fact your first statement already shows that you're a delusional psychopath, you said NAF ordered that plane, i asked for source and you posted a shady as link to a website, i proved you wrong, then you started attacking me that i didn't do well in WAEC (exam i didn't even sit) and maybe i need translation into my mother tongue, now all of a sudden you never said NAF ordered it, can you see for yourself that you're raving mad ? grin the fact that you are yet to begin roaming on the street does not mean you're not a mad man.

its Friday evening please don't allow the devil to use you.
Hey, mugu, here's my full comment quoted, show me where I said NAF has ORDERED l-39ng, if you dont show me the word ORDERED in my original quote, may the power of Good Friday block all good favour away from your life for the rest of this year, amen.

SupremeCourt:
NAF has settled for 2019 budget procurement of new advanced trainer jet l-39 ng next generation. The new jet has guiding laser bomb and air to air missiles unlike old l-39 ordinary non-guiding weapons. NAF will mix total conversions and fully brand new, the body will be new mixed with old engine for conversion, while new ones will be fully new to be delivered 2020-2022. Senegal saw NAF alpha jet actions in Gambia and decided to compete, Senegal is building new powerful air force with same l-39 ng and will join NAF in West Africa flying this new jet. For NAF this may kill yak-130 trainer option, since l-39 ng next generation is very advanced for lead in 4th gen and 5th gen trainer/light attack jet. As soon as 2019 budget NAF allocation is paid out, NAF is paying for this jet confirmed.

I said NAF has SETTLED for l-39ng, period. I never said ORDERED which is a further stage of procurement process.

I posted my source, a newspaper that quoted verbatim NAF chief's confirmation, but unknown to your mumu self, this reporter copied it directly from NAF official website exactly word for word.

You suddenly started to call me a mad man for no reason!

For calling me a mad man and also for falsely accusing me of shady sources, may The Spirit of Good Friday never let any good thing come to your life for the rest of this year 2019, amen. Here's NAF official website saying exactly same things as my own source and I;

"Chief of Air Staff highlighted that upon completion of life extension of 3 aircraft, Periodic Depot Maintenance (PDM) on the aircraft provided for in NAF’s 2019 Budget would commence as soon as budget is passed, funds released. He noted that this would pave way for eventual transition to L-39NG by acquiring necessary engines and avionics."

https://www.airforce.mil.ng/post-nigerian_air_force__our_main_partner_in_sub_saharan_africa___czech_ambassador

NAF CAS said the 2019 budgeted works "Would pave way for eventual transition to L-39NG by acquiring necessary engines and avionics."

WOULD means WILL in English future tense, that means NAF will surely acquire l-39ng, NAF did not say might, which means may or likely. You lack mental ability to comprehend simple English tenses. Would or will means yes will do it, not probably may love to do it, you try to spin facts and make a clear confirmation look like mere speculation. That's Satan using you on Easter day.

"Czech official also said next phase WOULD entail upgrade/switch to new L-39NG aircraft his Government was poised to embark upon to enhance NAF’s efforts to tackle current security challenges in Nigeria."

Above quote means new l-39ng upgrade capabilities are urgently needed for ongoing war on Boko Haram, that's why it's starting soon as possible.

If you had intellect to fully read Aero company website on l-39ng that I posted, you will see its not a common type of jet, the engine is an off the shelf commercial transport engine of cessna, beechcraft etc and twenty other aircraft use same engine. Long details of how to transition from l-39za to l-39ng is fully explained in my second source, it shows piece by piece process of this method of TRANSITIONAL ACQUISITION which is too complex for your dwarf mind to understand. Its not the normal EN BLOC ACQUISITION method you expect to see like Tucano.

NAF l-39ng is a project management type of transitional acquisition, thats why CAS spoke of getting engines and avionics, piece by piece, he said the transition will be triggered by 2019 budget work on 3 za jets we already have. So its upgrade project management procedure and the first step starts as soon as cash is released from 2019 budget, and that WOULD or WILL surely transition NAF za to ng next generation variant because 2019 work on za kick starts first phase of ng transition, both are connected together in incremental changes as stated by Aero manufacturer in the company website process of conversation to next gen. That's what NAF chief said, and same thing I said, I called it confirmation, and I am correct.

It will be a gradual transformation of NAF l-39za to l-39ng piece by piece in phases. The Czech man said NAF will do UPGRADE/SWITCH, l-39ng has half built yet fully operable options with only the new williams fj44 engine installed as partial upgrade but no new airframe, so NAF can pick a $2 million fj44 commerical engine off the shelf, for Kano depot to replace old za engine, giving NAF a transitional l-39ng stage one done with new engine only, next stage transition upgrades continues later. You didn't read up the project methodology and also ask those who know. This method is new to you, and dull you cannot think outside the box to understand it no matter how much I explain.

I can almost bet you dont have university education, so you have no analytical thinking, or maybe its just your irreversible natural dullness. Meanwhile, someone on this forum has now proved you a mugu and showed its not me who said jf-17 landed in NAF base. For willfully accusing me falsely again and again, may you never get divine favour this 2019, amen.

Mad man I see you still don’t have a source.
I hope this attention I’m giving you adds needed value to your life.

Headline: Czech Republic has expressed its interest to strengthen bi-lateral cooperation with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in the areas of training, aircraft acquisition and equipment maintenance.

slowpoke interpretation: NAF has ordered L39NG from Czech Republic. Confirmed confirmed, I asked a NaF staff in Abuja. Bla bla bla

See the problem ?
I pity you lol.
So hilarious its hard to quit blasting ya head.

Show me where I said NAF ORDERED l-39ng, I said confirmed SETTLED FOR, but as idiota you think settled selection means order contract signed, you proved your idiocy again grin Try resit WAEC English and score above D grin

Procurement starts by settling for, selecting an aircraft before any order contract signing in future, you can't know difference as you no finish school grin Almost sure you didn't go to university grin

I still wait, answer my 3 questions, show proof of your other 2 claims: 2018 budget stating 6 x aw-109m attack gunship and thread where I said jf-17 landed at NAF base, or else you be the biggest idiota on this forum.
