The chassis has absolutely nothing to do with the survivability of the crew (which is the whole point of an MRAP). Survivability, and how this vehicle performs in the field will be all down to the engineering effort at Proforce, not the chassis they are using/imported. But choosing a good chassis is of course a good start.

And my last point on this topic, if you don't see any false claims then I clap my hands. Its not even a month, ARA has not been pushed to breaking point. Nigerian army has not given feedback yet, but already your market research predicts you'll take over the African market. Okay then.

By region I mean Africa. West Africa is our sub-region. North-East Nigeria encompasses Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states where the Nigerian Military is currently engaged in active counter terrorism operations.

Presently the Nigerian Air Force considers itself a credible threat and deterrence and among the foremost Air Forces that currently exist in the region. But gaps exist some of which the A-29 covers. The A-29 is not only primed for COIN. It is a 4th generation aircraft effective for the ground attack role and interdiction in a low threat environment.

This procurement sees an advanced suite and weapons systems on the Embraer A-29 Super Tucano non-existent currently in sub-Saharan Africa and arguably only Egypt comes close. Integrated in a complex of systems and assets for air-superiority, air-defence, ECM/EW, early warning, C&C, targeting and strike etc and very importantly pilot skill and capacity makes the NAF far more potent and viable than previously existed bringing hitherto unchallenged and uncontested air space into contention. This alters the current balance of air power in the region.

The NAF has completed the airlift of 38,000kg of relief materials to Freetown, Sierra Leone, following the recent mudslide and flood, which led to the loss of several lives and properties. The relief materials were donated by the Federal Government of Nigeria towards alleviating the suffering of the people affected by mudslide and flood in Sierra Leone. The airlift, which was conducted in 5 sorties with NAF C-130 Hercules aircraft, is in partial fulfilment of the statutory responsibility of the NAF.

I completely agree with you, generally we agreed on this thread to stop making comparisons and proud statements that include “best in Africa”. We don’t like when the SA guys do it so we shouldn’t do it either.

Where's the envy? South Africa had an indeginoius MRAP in 1974, we literally wrote the book on these vehicles. We still the only country in the world where every wheeled military vehicle was an MRAP, from horse transport vehicles, ambulance, water tank and everything in between.

We have produced and exported 1000s of these vehicles, we have over 20 models on the market.... If you wish to celebrate about 1 model then go ahead it's your own archivement, we threw that party in 1974.

No. You are not. You know you are not. Everyone knows you are not. Just accept small victories and build from there, instead of making fairytale claims. You are not suddenly going to leapfrog others stretching from Russia, Turkey to the U.S (and everyone in between) on your 1st attempt.

Rather say Proforce will deliver a MRAP that meets the requirements of the Nigerian Army and leave it at that.

I believe this is a topic worth discussing i would like to hear from anyone what type of Artillery systems and Armoured Vehicles could that also mean Tanks? and MRAPS what kind of MRAPS ? Please intelligent discussions only no political discussion on GEJ vs PMB, This might be the first MAJOR PROCUREMENT for the N.A.

Wing Commander Chimda Hedima 1975 - 2014.

On 11/09/14, a company of NA soldiers attempted to overrun a Boko Haram position in Borno. Due to the low altitude, the plane suffered significant damage from the terrorists' gun fire. Wing Commander Hedima and his partner realized that they were going to crash.

Instead of hurriedly parachuting to safety within Nigerian controlled territory, they chose to embark on a mission to destroy as many terrorists and their weapons as possible. They parachuted out at the last minute but not before ensuring their plane slammed into a column of terrorists in which 63 Boko Haram members were killed as a result of their bravery.

Wing Commander Hedima was captured. On 12/09/14, he was killed by the Boko Haram.

He chose Nigeria, he chose all of us. We cannot forget him. Please share his story. His name should be known by everyone.

Rest In Peace Commander, we are grateful.

May you find eternal peace in the bosom of the almighty God.

Just because some countries don't have insurgents running around in daylight doesn't mean they don't have the capability/capabilities to deal with them. In fact the fact that they don't have those insurgents on the streets is something you should be envying with their security cluster because they have a capability to uproot them at infancy, something you obviously lacked.
