If anyone is interested in NAF's Strategic 10 year plan go to their website and under Publications and then downloads, there is a PDF with the NAF strategic plan from 2017 to 2026, which they appear to be following at the moment.
It gives updates on plans for every NAF section, although there are sensitive sections left intentionally blank or redacted, but you can get the gist where they are headed.

They plan to decommission the Alpha Jet and G222 in the 2021 to 2023 time frame and will also upgrade the L-39 with a glass cockpit and new engines. They are looking at the Alpha Jet and G222 replacements and there is a timeline for delivery of new aircraft and equipment needed on the ground.

NAF has settled for 2019 budget procurement of new advanced trainer jet l-39 ng next generation. The new jet has guiding laser bomb and air to air missiles unlike old l-39 ordinary non-guiding weapons. NAF will mix total conversions and fully brand new, the body will be new mixed with old engine for conversion, while new ones will be fully new to be delivered 2020-2022. Senegal saw NAF alpha jet actions in Gambia and decided to compete, Senegal is building new powerful air force with same l-39 ng and will join NAF in West Africa flying this new jet. For NAF this may kill yak-130 trainer option, since l-39 ng next generation is very advanced for lead in 4th gen and 5th gen trainer/light attack jet. As soon as 2019 budget NAF allocation is paid out, NAF is paying for this jet confirmed.

Only brand new equipment can continue to perform for 4 years without withdrawing to workshop for periodic mechanical overhaul.

Train all NA troops for unconventional war during rotation holidays, a powerful T-90 force of 100 tanks will fill in the gap while we retrain the whole 30,000 NE troops in batches of 1,000 troops at a time during off duty time after 12 months in frontline duty. Like that, an Israeli or Eben PMC will transform the whole Nigerian Army into anti-unconventional war force in addition to our original conventional war training at NDA.

Added, the 100 T-90MS will also make Chad's powerful 30,000 anti-insurgency expert army to stop messing Nigeria up, when they see 100 T-90 tanks driven by 1,000 Russia trained Nigerians, Chad and her supporter Cameroon that has another 30,000 troops to intimidate Nigeria with a dangerous 60,000 'Francophone Allied Forces' will all behave better.

Also improve our NA intelligence and spy units, plus modern surveillance equipment to see Boko HARAM from 20km away at night or day, put one in all bases, every base of Nigerian Army must have such long distance enemy detection technology active 24/7.

I've been itching to ask why the Nigerian army has refused to use personal defence weapons like the claymore, especially around their FOBs. As you can see from the destruction arc, a single blast can cover almost a 180 degree angle. Any army today that thinks civilian insurgents are fools, will learn the same painful lesson again and again. You realise that the term classified has nothing to do with how the weapon actually works? The algorithms. BAE is not giving Nigeria the blueprints of how APKWS works (and never will in a million years) nor are the Americans with Paveway. Classified information relates to functionality of the weapon, something that all arms deals include.

You're getting the crucial/secret information regarding use of the weapon. Flight envelopes, limitations, effect of cloud cover etc etc. Basically the secret information pilots need to know.

Side note: That's why it's relatively easy to reverse engineer a purely mechanical system such as a machine gun, but very very difficult for a missile/guided system. You can have your technicians make something that looks similar to a Paveway, but with zero functionality. It's the algorithms that are top secret, and the customer will never have access to them.
