Crime / Robbers Raid Suleja IBB Market, Shot One Person by surawilly(m): 8:11am On Jan 14, 2020
A gang of armed robbers, Monday evening, stormed popular IBB market in Suleja town of Niger state, shooting one person in the process. Sources who spoke to Daily Trust this morning informed that, the robbers who arrived the area some minutes before 7 pm parked their vehicle from behind and went straight into a mobile phone’s shop, located inside a plaza known as Murada. “No one is aware about what was taking place inside the shop as they carried out every thing secretly, a source informed. It was gathered that in the process to flee the area, the robbers missed their exit. “They shot into air which caused commotion where one person among the passers by was hit.
A member of the Suleja vigilante group who said they are yet to report for night duty there, when the incident took place, added that, the robbers later located their vehicle, and fled the area, while the victim was taking to the Suleja general hospital for treatment.

naijamerican:
These foolish Nigerians going to India of all places to study are complete fools. India is one of the dirtiest countries on the planet, furhtermore its overcrowded and the people backward. Thirdly, the culture is extremely racist to Africans despite their pathetic existence. Thridly, the Indian people are reknown for having once of the most offensive body odors known to man. Also the average indian mn has a very small dick, hence the reason they are so upset all the time. Some of the women look good, but they age terribly.

The bottom line as someone that has traveled to both countries, Nigeria is better than india in every way. If nigerias would only organzie and stop with the useless ethnic divisiveness, perhaps this country could grow into a respectable place where African people could grow and develop. Hopefully Buhari dies while "vacationing" in England so our country can move forward and this emigration of Nigerian citizens to useless countries like India can end soon.

you are in ur room typing Nigerians going to India are foolish even without bn there? in ur naija no discrimination? u have steady power supply? the fuel u produced is how much? you pray for buhari to die like tomorrow is sure for u? your life trouble is with Abiola and he is dead...so bro no hope for u

before u criticize anyone for going to India to study or choosing a particular course u have to ask the reason why? u stay in naija mocking them like they had other option. even in naija don't we have discrimination? u apply for a sch out of ur region with high grades in jamb they tell u dat u ain't from catchments area and all sort of excuses. To me I have never experience any sorts of discrimination, it's my second year now. the only problem is u hardly get a part time job.
so discrimination is every where even in our country, so don't just sleep on ur mattress and start blabbing rubbish!

Politics / We Came To Power At A Very Difficult Time – Buhari by surawilly(m): 6:43am On May 29, 2016
President Muhammadu Buhari has confessed that it has been difficult governing Nigeria in the last one year. He said the country was beset with a lot of problems when he took over power on May 29, 2015. The President made the remarks during an interaction with some editors on Thursday, in Abuja to throw light on his experiences in the last one year. “We came into power at a very difficult time. We discovered too late that we had put ourselves as a nation in a mono-economy, depending only on petroleum,” he said. Besides, the president said from 1999 to 2013, the average cost of Nigeria’s crude oil per barrel was$100, but when his administration came on board, it had reduced to an average of about only $30. According to him, his administration suddenly discovered that Nigerians were depending on petroleum and imported virtually everything, including food. “There are a lot of problems in the country. You have insurgency in the North-East”, he said, recalling that what started like a group of political thugs, developed into Boko Haram. The President also said there was high unemployment in the country and things became clearer and compounded when Nigeria abandoned agriculture and solid minerals. Buhari also spoke about the value of the naira, pointing out that he was agonising over the matter.

Education / BUK Female Student Takes Own Life Over Registration by surawilly(m): 7:33am On May 27, 2016
A female student in the Department of Library Science, Faculty ofEducation, Bayero University Kano (BUK), has ended her life by taking an insecticide.
She left a suicide note saying that she has failed to meet a dateline for the registration of an elective course.
In the note she said, “I will not apply for course suspension my academics is all I live for, if I can’t get it right, f**k existing.”The student, Sarah Imoleaya Ighidabo, from Edo State, failed an elective course unit in the faculty of sciences after missing examinations and was made to repeat the course. Ms Ighidalo had passed all her major courses in Library Science.
But by missing registration of her elective course, meant that shewas not enrolled for the course during the semester and had to retake the course next year.

However, on Thursday May 12, 2016, the deceased went to the faculty’s office to see if anything could be done about her case, but she found out that it was too late to make any amends.Consequently, she became restless, left the office and descendedthe stairs to where she had kept her bag. There, she was said to have written a suicide note and brought out a container of Sniper insecticide used mostly in driving away soil borne pests and drank it. She left her mobile phone, charger, suicide note, her bag and the container under the staircase and returned to the office.A source in the Computer Science Department told Daily Trust that soon after the student was told that her registration for the course was incomplete due to a late registration, she left the office without talking to anybody. The source added that it seemed the student had already planned the suicide even before she encountered some challenges in the process of her registration.“She drank the insecticide under the staircase and left the container, her handbag, phone charger and other belongings in a hidden corner,” the source said.“When she returned to the office, she began to complain of a chest pain and, in no time, she lost her consciousness. She was then rushed to the university clinic.“But the problem was beyond the university clinic and she was taken to AKTH (Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital) and that was where she died,” said the source.
Immediately after the incidence occurred, the news went round the campuses and sent the faculty into a state of shock.Daily Trust gathered that by the time that the news of her death filtered out, the empty container of the Sniper, her handbag, registration forms, bank payment receipts and phone charger were discovered by some students under the staircase.
The registration forms contained her name, registration number (Edu/12/LIS/00195), mode of entry, which is Direct Entry (DE), date of birth (01/01/1970), local government of origin (Etsako East local government) and her state of origin, Edo State.
The forms also contained her home address (Yelwa Television, Kaduna), her marital status, (single) and her next of kin.Philomena Umoru was stated as her mother’s name. She resides in the same area in Kaduna. The student’s payment form of N29, 000 in the First Bank of Nigeria, Kuje branch, also contained her phone number and email address.
On the top of the form and at its bottom, a hand writing indicating: “Library & Information Science LIS4205,” was seen.At the back of one of the two forms, the student wrote a messagethat read: “I will not apply for course suspension. My academic isall I live for. If I can’t get it right, Bleep existing.”Daily Trust learnt that a similar message was found in her room outside the campus.
Sources told Daily Trust that, already, the university management had received an interim report about the incidence from the concerned head of department.
The university’s authority, it was gathered, is still investigating the incidence.
Efforts to reach the Director Public Affairs Ahmed Shehu were not successful. He sent a text message saying he was in a meeting.
When contacted by phone, the Police Public Relations Officer, Kano State Command, Deputy Superintendent Musa Majia said the University authorities have reported the case to police on Monday and that the Commissioner, Alhaji Maigari Abbati had ordered the transfer of the case to the Criminal Investigation Department for further inquiry.

Sports / Pellegrini Predicts Bright Future For Iheanacho by surawilly(m): 8:18am On May 16, 2016
The departing Chilean believes the young striker has a “brilliant future” ahead of him after he scored his 14th goal of the season in the Citizens' 1-1 draw with Swansea City.

Manuel Pellegrinihas backed Kelechi Iheanacho to enjoy further success at Manchester City after the teenage striker netted in his side's 1-1 Premier League draw at Swansea City.

Iheanacho's 14th goal of an impressive breakthrough season gave the visitors an early lead at the Liberty Stadium but they were pegged back by Andre Ayew's free-kick on the stroke of half-time.

Top scorer Sergio Aguero and Iheanacho were both culpable for spurning chances to secure a City win after the break but to all intents and purposes the pointsecured a top-four finish and entry into the Champions League for when Pep Guardiola arrives as Pellegrini's successor next term.

And the Chilean believes the incoming Bayern Munich boss is inheriting an exceptional prospect in Iheanacho.
"I think he demonstrated how important he [Iheanacho]is," Pellegrini told a post-match news conference."

He is a very good player but he also must improve a lot. But a player of 19-years-old who scores so many goals and not playing all the games, I think has a brilliant future. I think all the fans of City will be delighted with him in the next years."
