title aspirations. The African
favourites will now meet Sweden
in the semi-final round, in a
replay of their 3-3 Group F draw.

The golden eaglets of Nigeria will face the Swedish side. The Golden eaglets are through to the semi finals after a 2:0 win over Uruguay. The match kicks off by 5pm

Strong points? Their performance on the field of play says it all. Excluding the match against Sweden( The only match we saw some defensive flaws in) and considering the 8 teams' performance in each of their last 3 matches.

safarigirl: first off, where did I yell? Secondly, I said our defense is 'arguably' the weakest, 6/10 isn't strong enough to take out a Brazilian attack that goes full throttle(just like us). I maintain that the reason we don't have a higher goal tally is cos of our early goals that damage the psyche of the teams we meet. Sweden exposed our weak defense and it was a strong attack that saved us.

Yeah. You are absolutely right. But, it seems u're misinterpreting the other guy. After watching the match against Iraq and Iran, our defense isn't like it was during our match against Sweden.
In other words, what the guy meant is that, it is unfair to judge our defense with their performance against sweden only. Hereby rating them the weakest defense in the 8 teams at the quater finals.

That number 1 makes a lot of sense. We don't need girls who can't work for their own cash.

On the other hand, Man utd's Team B just finished demolishing Norwich with 4 goals to nothing. TEAM MUFC

On the other hand, Norwich is currently suffering at the hands of Man utd's 2nd team. They are down with 2 goals.

3 teams qualified simply because there are only 6 groups and 16 teams are needed. Picking 2 4rm each group means they'll only have 12 teams. Hence, of all the teams that came third in each group, the best four is selected to fill the remaining 4 spaces.

The Golden Eaglets will on
Tuesday, Oct. 29 face Iran in the
last second round match, billed
for Al Ain City at 5 p.m. Nigerian
time.
Iran had qualified after coming
second in Group E, after one win
and two draws for five points
from three games.
In other pairings, Group B
runners-up Italy will face Group F
runners-up and defending
champions Mexico on Monday,
Oct. 28.
Japan who topped Group D will
take on Sweden who finished
third from Group F, while Brazil
who led Group A will take on
Russia, who were third from
Group D.
In the last game for Monday, Oct.
28, Honduras who were Group A
runners-up will face Group C
runners-up Uzbekistan.
On Tuesday, Oct. 29, Uruguay
who led Group B will take on
Slovakia who were third in Group
A, with the winners awaiting the
winners of the Nigeria/Iran clash.
Group C leaders Morocco will also
take on African champions Cote
d’Ivoire who had finished third
from Group B, while Group E
winners Argentina face Group D
runners-up Tunisia.
NAN reports that winners of the
eight matches will advance to the
quarter-finals scheduled for
Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov.
2.
The competition had began on
Oct. 17 and will end on Nov. 8.

The golden eaglets of Nigeria will meet the Iranian side on the 29th of october at Sheikh Khalifa international stadium , Al Ain by 5pm.
Iran also booked their place in the
Round of 16 of the U-17 finals in
UAE after a 1-0 over Austria in Al
Ain saw them finish second in
Group E. Their opponent in the
first knockout round will be none
other than our Golden eaglets Nigeria, who return to
their home-base in the desert
