klax: But what is all these mess Christain are creating hereI don't know how u're being taught what Idolatory means in your church. But in Deeper Life, an Idol is anything you place above God himself. Christmas is celebrated even more than how God is celebrated. If you must celebrate xmas, then do what will make God happy (eg, Preaching the Gospel.) I'm afraid, The media misquoted the man. |
chi4ik: bro I refer U to this chapter Hosea. 4:6 My people are doomed because they do not acknowledge me. You priests have refused to acknowledge me and have rejected my teaching, and so I reject you and will not acknowledge your sons as my priests. You mean, the way to acknowledge Christ is by celebrating his birth? |
chi4ik: Hosea 4:6 My people are doomed because they do not acknowledge me. You priests have refused to acknowledge me and have rejected my teaching, and so I reject you and will not acknowledge your sons as my priests. kumuyi don't U celebrate ur birthday? Infact from 2day I ban all Dipper Lifers from Celebrating their birthdays but doom ar awaiting them 4 not Celebrating Christ birthday .. Tank God I'm a CHATHOLIC MEMBER....... 2moro I can't wait oooooo..Just as the Bible says. Right? |
hotwax: Oya give us quote where they write the word "Pastor" in the bible. #PastorKumuyiPerhaps, you should just google what the word 'pastor' means. then u'll realize your response to his post has nothing to do with what he wrote at all. |
hardeyincah: shut up, he called on fellow christains to ignore the celebration...He called on xtians? Were you at the retreat? do you believe what the media says rather than what the members say? |
hotwax: WHy cant he face his church and leave catholic out of it? Must he attacked anybody. If he is allergic to xmas, not all his congregation hate xmas.He never dragged Catholib into it. so, why did you say he should leave them out of this? My brother, the world is changing. xmas isnt what it used to be again. Imagine a gospel singer saying, happy sexmas. Imagine the Bervely Osu xmas card with a naked pic on it. All these are far from what xmas signifies. The world has crept quietly into the church and sin is no longer regarded to as sin. May God help us all. |
But Pastor Kumuyi was adressing the congregation, not the catholics, He never said this to a media website. He simply said this to the church members. so, why are the catholics replying. |
Don't be suprised if this thread doesn't make front page. Match threads should be created only if it's the club's next match or the club will be playing 2 matches in the space of 3 days. You created Liverpool vs Mancity thread, and then created this again. |

Stop celebrating Christmas, it is idolatory – Kumuyi warns members Respected cleric and founder of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor W.F Kumuyi has called on his members to stop celebrating Christmas, saying that it is idolatry. The former university don stated this yesterday at the just concluded 2013 Deeper Life National December Retreat under the theme, Crossing Over to a New Inheritance and Prevailing over Storms of Life at the Deeper Life Conference Centre, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The pastor in a message broadcasted live said the birth of Christ should not only be celebrated just once in year but everyday. Kumuyi who decried how people squander millions just to celebrate ‘a one- day Christmas’ told his congregation to seek first the kingdom of God, noting that all other things would be added unto them. Meanwhile, DailyPost observation shows that for the first time in history, members of Deeper Life would be celebrating Christmas at home, unlike in the past where they would camp till Boxing Day, December 26. This year’s retreat, which started December 19 ended today, Sunday, 22 |
c0llynz02: Have you watched the likes of Merlin, Harry Porter and Heroes? The ones u're talking about are already labelled as fantasy movies with fantasy plots. But, why should you watch a movie with no fantasy setting and end up seeing a herbalist in the movie to unravel a mystery that has been keeping the movie moving? It's totally out of it. |
homesteady: Mtcheew! For your mind now you be critic? What's stopping him is the fact that the entertainment Industry isn't his field. You have the right to criticize a player who doesn't perform well (even though, you can't do what he's doing) simply because that's his profession. Those who chose directing and producing movies as their profession should be ready to produce meaningful movies, else, they won't be free from criticism. |
Who has watched Detective Dee And The Mystery Of Phantom Flames, where mysterious deaths were analysed till the culprit was caught. Had it been it was a Yoruba movie, An herbalist would be the one to divine and fish out the culprit. |
Steve Bruce believes David Moyes is coping admirably with the task of stepping into Sir Alex Ferguson's shoes at Manchester United. Hull boss Bruce, a former United captain under Ferguson and once considered a potential successor, has huge respect for the way Moyes has taken on one of the thorniest tasks in the game. Replacing Ferguson, whose trophy haul and longevity at Old Trafford are unprecendented, has been described as an impossible task and, with the champions eighth in the table after winning just eight of their 17 games, Moyes has hardly enjoyed a straightforward start. But Bruce, whose side host the Red Devils on Boxing Day, appreciates better than most the pressures of life at Old Trafford and believes the Scot will be a success given time. "I think whoever had taken over would have needed a bit of time," he said. "Sir Alex must be there in every closet, behind every door you open. Thankfully they have shown what kind of a club they are, giving David a six-year deal. They will give him time and rightly so. The change has happened and I think we're all getting used to seeing David standing there now. "It's never easy to follow someone like Sir Alex, with the record he's got. But he's an outstanding manager, David, and it's just a matter of time before things click into place. "He'll have to have his own stamp on it, like anyone in management, but he's proved over the years what a good manager he is. He's a football man and all of us in the game, us British ones at least, are delighted that the big, top job has gone to somebody like him because he deserves it." Whether or not Bruce can put a fresh spanner in the works for Moyes, who has overseen four consecutive wins in all competitions since losing successive matches against Everton and Newcastle, could depend on his defenders. The Tigers have conceded the fewest goals in the league on home turf - just three in eight matches - an unlikely statistic for a promoted side and also a point of some pride for former centre-half Bruce. He accepts his back-line, led impressively by skipper Curtis Davies and directed by Scotland goalkeeper Allan McGregor, must be at their best once more to keep United quiet but they have previous this season - with the prolific Luis Suarez quiet during Liverpool's 3-1 defeat in East Yorkshire earlier this month. "We've been good defensively and we'll need to be good again because with Manchester United coming to town they can score from all sorts of areas," he said. "Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez, Valencia, Cleverley, Jones, Smalling...take your pick because the list is endless. They've got big players who want to win, want to entertain and want to beat you: that's not going to change. "They have found a bit of form, as you would expect, and they were convincing winners (3-1 over West Ham) at the weekend. So it's one where there is no real expectation on us, it's all on them. "We have to make sure we play well. We did that against Liverpool and caught them on an off day. We have to enjoy the occasion and enjoy the challenge of facing Manchester United. "So let's not have too much turkey at Christmas and put up a really good display." Bruce could field the same starting XI for the fourth Barclays Premier League match in a row. With Robbie Brady (groin) unlikely to be fit to face his former club, Bruce may keep faith with a side that has drawn against Swansea, Stoke and West Brom. Sone Aluko (Achilles) and Stephen Quinn (hamstring) are both certain absentees. Adnan Januzaj seems to be following the Cristiano Ronaldo route to stardom at Manchester United. Just like Ronaldo, Januzaj has burst onto the first-team scene at the age of 18 with a series of dazzling performances. As with the Portugal superstar, the teenager has become an instant favourite of the Old Trafford faithful. And, just as Sir Alex Ferguson had to do with Ronaldo, so Moyes has needed to step in and deliver some words of advice to try and curb a tendency to go down too easily. Yet, as with Ronaldo, Moyes offers a stern defence of a player who has twice been booked for diving, the latest card arriving against West Ham on Saturday, and has now become, on a game for game average, the most fouled player in the Premier League. "I can only say what I see," said Moyes. "In the previous games he has been getting kicked from pillar to post and the referees have been quite happy to let that go. "They have not been too bothered about doing anything about it. "The boy was wrong with what happened on Saturday and we have told him about it. But we all make one or two mistakes and the boy will learn as he gets older. "The thing is, when you are getting kicked all the time and folk are lunging into tackles into you, sometimes you have to jump out of the way or you are going to get hurt. "That is what I continually say. I just hope it doesn't take a sore one before people start doing something about it." A decade ago, Ferguson was saying very similar things about Ronaldo. And while Moyes fought shy of comparing the two, it is an obvious reference point for what could be achieved by Januzaj. "Some people need to realise this is a young talent," said Moyes. "At the moment they are kicking him but it is right, they also kicked Ronaldo and look at the player he went on to be. "Adnan will also go on to become a great player in time. "At the moment the job is to make sure he is able to play." With Robin van Persie almost certain to miss out with a thigh injury and Danny Welbeck a doubt due to the bang on the knee that forced him out of Saturday's win over West Ham, Moyes is likely to be relying on Januzaj to some extent at Hull on Boxing Day. For Hull's record of conceding just three goals on home soil this term is the best in the Premier League, with only Manchester City even getting close. "It is a great record," said Moyes. "In this league you have either got to score plenty of goals or not concede them, it is one or the other. "As far as Steve Bruce is concerned, it means he has a good base and his team are hard to beat. "It gives him a platform to play off and means he can hope the odd goal wins him matches. "It will be a tough game that's for sure but we have got ourselves on a winning run and hopefully we can continue that." Danny Welbeck is a doubt for Manchester United's Boxing Day trip. Welbeck suffered a bang on the knee during Saturday's win over West Ham and, though fears of a repeat of the injury that ruled him out earlier in the season have been dispelled, he is in a race to be fit for the KC Stadium. Michael Carrick (Achilles) and Robin van Persie (thigh) are unlikely to be involved and Marouane Fellaini (wrist) is definitely out but Anders Lindegaard should be back after a hip problem. http://espnfc.com/en/preview/367321/preview.html?soccernet=true&cc=3888 |

Manchester United manager David Moyes has branded Patrice Evra one of the finest leaders he has ever come across. Evra spoke with passion following Wednesday's Capital One Cup win over Stoke, laying bare his desire for United to click into top gear following their ropey start to the Premier League campaign, whilst at the same time acknowledging the pressures that come with being a player at Old Trafford. The full-back has also been an inspiration with France as both Franck Ribery and Yohan Cabaye have testified already this season. Moyes has also noticed what a powerful presence Evra is at Old Trafford, and what a galvanising impact he has on the dressing room. "Patrice is one of the finest leaders around the dressing room that I have ever seen," said Moyes. "He speaks well in everything he does and the way he speaks about the club is great. "He is inspirational behind the scenes and reminds all the boys what their jobs and duties are. "He knows we have to have a strong Manchester United. He demands. He doesn't think winning one game is it. He is saying no, we need to win all the games. "He is great for me and obviously he has been great for the team because he has been a really top player for a long time now." Yet it did seem Evra was surplus to requirements last summer when Moyes went back to Everton for Leighton Baines. When Moyes finally accepted defeat on transfer deadline day, he launched an attempt to capture Fabio Coentrao on loan from Real Madrid. Even though that move failed, it seemed Evra's time at United was drawing to a close. Yet, Moyes insisted, Evra was told what the new manager was trying to do, and supported it completely. "Pat was fully aware of what we were doing and he was for it," said Moyes. "He said we always have to have competition at Manchester United; we always have to be getting better. Plus, he said I had to make sure I did what is right for the football club." Evra has featured in all but one league game this season, five out of six in the Champions League and scored at the Britannia Stadium in midweek, as United booked a semi-final date with Sunderland. And it is likely he will feature heavily in a festive programme that starts for United with a home game against West Ham, when they look to avoid losing three league matches on the trot at Old Trafford for the first time since 1979. Evra highlighted a growing fear factor earlier this week. However, on this subject, Moyes is in disagreement with the former Monaco man. "The results have not been what we wanted," said Moyes. "Because of that, words like nervy, vulnerability, anxious all come to mind. "But I have never personally found that. The fans have backed the team. "They know we need to play better and we need to score some more goals but it has not for the want of trying." United will definitely be without Nani, who has joined an already lengthy injury list, with Moyes confirming the Portugal international will be out "for a few weeks" with a hamstring problem. In contrast, Wayne Rooney "has a chance" of recovering from the groin strain that kept him out of the Stoke trip. West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has praised the work Moyes is doing at United and feels his efforts so far have been undervalued. Moyes replaced Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford in the summer and the reigning Premier League champions are currently eighth after losing their last two home league games. The Hammers, themselves struggling down in 17th place, visit Old Trafford on Saturday with Allardyce acknowledging the size of the job Moyes has after replacing an icon such as Ferguson. "For him, at the moment I don't think it's quite as bad as everyone makes out," the Hammers boss said. "(United are in the) semi-finals of the Capital One Cup, qualified (as) winners of their European group and unfortunately for him, (they are in) a league position that he wouldn't have wanted but obviously he'll face the task as he knew it was going to be a difficult takeover period from Sir Alex. "Old Trafford particularly is where he wants it to be the fortress that Sir Alex always seemed to make it and on occasion that hasn't seemed to happen for him. "David will be planning as always to get the right team out to beat us and go on from there. Like everybody says, the transition cannot happen overnight and it's like every manager, there's a transitional period that you've got to try and get through before you make your own mark on it." Allardyce will be without skipper Kevin Nolan as he serves the final match of his three-game ban for his red card at Liverpool but former United youngster Ravel Morrison is in line for a recall to the starting line-up. The 20-year-old left United to join West Ham in the summer of 2012 and has started making a name for himself at Upton Park, although Allardyce is keen for Saturday's game to be about more than Morrison. When asked if the England Under-21 international may be looking to prove a point in the game, Allardyce replied: "If he is selected he probably will. My concern would be to say that if he does play and I do select him that he doesn't try and win the game by himself. This is a team game and you can't play as an individual because you're back at Old Trafford." |

David Moyes will be keen for Manchester United to continue their upturn in form in their LeagueCup quarter-final battle with Stoke City. The Premier League champions went four top-flight games without victory over the end of November and beginning of December, including back-to- back 1-0 defeats at OldTrafford to Everton and Newcastle United. United have improved in their last two fixtures, however, beating Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 in their final UEFA Champions League group stage fixture before comfortably seeing off AstonVilla 3-0 in the league on Sunday. And manager Moyes has now targeted continued improvement, with United looking to make the LeagueCup semi-finals for the first time since winning the competition in 2010 in their visit to the Britannia Stadium on Wednesday. "It (ourplay) continually has to improve and it will improve,"he told Sky Sports in the aftermath of the Villa victory. "I'll make sure it gets better in the coming month." United have seen off challenges from Liverpool and NorwichCity to make it this far, and will be confident of claiming the scalp of Mark Hughes' side, with Stoke having never beaten Manchester United in the Premier League. Indeed,Stoke's last victory over United in any competition came in a 2-1 LeagueCup triumph in September 1993 thanks to a double from Mark Stein. However, at that time, ties in the competition were staged over two legs and United progressed courtesy of a 2-0 success at Old Trafford. Former Unitedstriker Hughesis looking to orchestrate Stoke's best performance in the competition since their 2-1 triumph over Chelsea in the 1972 final. Stoke have twice reached the quarter-final stage since then, most recently in the 2008-09 season when they lost 1-0 to Derby County. The Britannia Stadium outfit head into the fixture on the back of two drawsand a winin the top flight, with 0-0 stalemates against Cardiff City and Hull City sandwiching a superb 3-2 success over Chelsea. Centre-backRobertHuth(knee) is ruled out for Stoke, while United will definitely be without Robin van Persie (thigh) and Michael Carrick (Achilles). |
